CLASSIC “CHARMED” DONE OUR WAY! Based on the classic TV series created by Constance M. Burge
Written By Team Charmed Cafe's Sunday Group: Olga, Prudence, Ruth Marie and Sasha
Edited by Esmeralda With special thanks to Pheebs from Team Charmed Cafe's Saturday Group who let us adapt her Deadline articles for our version! DISCLAIMER: We don't own anything Charmed, which was owned by Aaron Spelling Productions and is now owned by CBS-TV Productions. These fan-written "press releases" were not written for profit but only for the pleasure of fans visiting Charmed sites. This should give you an idea what Sunday's group's version is like. (There's also a Saturday group, but they're not ready to post their version yet since it still has a ton of inconsistencies - happens when you combine episodes, which is why we Sunday group decided to not do that.) Right now this is just more of a teaser - I'm not going to release more until those reading Elemental Charmed finish.

This is very good. It follows the original show to bit, but then goes its own way. We see Grams in the pilot, for example, where in the show, we didn't see her until Is There A Woogy In The House (probably because Jennifer Rhodes wasn't cast until then).
And I like the sisters knowing just who and what they are, before choosing to embrace it. In the real show, it was more or less dropped on them, without giving them time to prepare.
Andy Trudeau doesn't exist in this reality. And other characters that appeared on the real show either don't exist or are changed (I have other sources that feed me information about this series). That's all I'll say.
Please post more, Esmeralda, when you can.

CLASSIC “CHARMED” DONE OUR WAY! Based on the classic TV series created by Constance M. Burge

CARINA SAID: Thank you Team Charmed Cafe. CARINA SAID: Now I feel like I'm taken back to 1998. I'm already liking it. CARINA SAID: I love the way this is written. How I see Charmed. CARINA SAID: Love you two. Combs joked, "Shannen and I have been best friends for years, and we are known to giggle and be playful around set in a fun way. Just as long as we get the job."
CARINA SAID: Oh, Holly. CARINA SAID: I bet, long hours, of course, sleep is key. CARINA SAID: It sure would. Well-done, Pheebs. CARINA SAID: I'm loving these, no doubt, based on real ones. This is fun, I'm seeing what I never saw back in the day. CARINA SAID: And love this Premise outline. CARINA SAID: That she is, Shannen is fantastic. CARINA SAID: Exactly. CARINA SAID: Now, I get why it moved off Wednesday, being up against Party of Five, another sibling centric series. Smart call The WB. CARINA SAID: I love this intro with Grams, this really sets the stage of the series so well. Love it. And it is like canon from Pre-Witched where she falls down the stairs and Piper finds her. CARINA SAID: I'm so glad Piper is doing that, and yes, Grams would want her to ollow her dreams. CARINA SAID: And I remember the videotape tease in the deadline articles. Can't wait. CARINA SAID: And I love that this is how Phoebe comes home, of course, she is staying. That is cool, you had Prue not say I love you back, that fits well with continuity with From Fear to Eternity, what a cool way to make that a call-back. CARINA SAID: I'm glad they do. Love the spirit board moving in the background unseen by them. CARINA SAID: And this is perfect to bring in Darryl. I'm assuming Darryl is playing Andy's role, and Peyton Fallon is playing Darryl's. I like that it lets the show have a female supporting star than just the sisters. Good call. CARINA SAID: CARINA SAID: I love that you included the funeral, and Piper gets to read her eulogy. CARINA SAID: Love this, already knowing Darryl knew them when they were young, and he knows Grams. Yes, keep out of the moment Peyton. CARINA SAID: Perfect, to have her die here now, the second murder. CARINA SAID: I love this, and I liked this scene from canon, with the changes. CARINA SAID: That cat sure likes you. CARINA SAID: Watch that video. CARINA SAID: I love this addition, perfect, and I really like her leaving this for them. CARINA SAID: And so proud of Grams for saying that it is their choice to do it or not. CARINA SAID: I'm not surprised Phoebe is excited over the others. CARINA SAID: What a great pilot episode. I really had fun with this, and picturing the story playing out in my head.
ES SAID: This should give you an idea what Sunday's group's version is like. (There's also a Saturday group, but they're not ready to post their version yet since it still has a ton of inconsistencies - happens when you combine episodes, which is why we Sunday group decided to not do that.) CARINA SAID: It gave them a wonderful idea of what it is about. Thanks for sharing. ------------------------------ ES SAID: Right now this is just more of a teaser - I'm not going to release more until those reading Elemental Charmed finish. CARINA SAID: Thanks, a great teaser, and I agree until I finish EC. But, it already has a YES from me for wanting to read on, when I'm done with EC.

CARINA SAID: I really liked the changes, it added lots more, and I liked seeing Grams being the one to die, and the videotape was perfect. I agree, I loved that they are given the choice here, than the real show. While still keeping canon with Grams falling down the stairs. Can't wait for more, when I finish EC.

I wonder, had Jennifer Rhodes been cast when the show started, if this is how they would have done it.
Guess we'll never know.

CARINA SAID: Thank you Team Charmed Cafe. ES SAID: Our pleasure! I hope someday you'll be able to join Team Charmed Cafe! CARINA SAID: Now I feel like I'm taken back to 1998. I'm already liking it. ES: YAY! That's what we hoped it would do for fans. CARINA SAID: I love the way this is written. How I see Charmed. ES: For us, it's Charmed at its best - S1-3 much more than S4-8 - and not because it's Prue vs Paige but due to how it was written where protecting innocents is their destiny in S1-3 while defeating the Source and then protecting the Twice-Blessed Brat is their destiny in S4-8. CARINA SAID: Love you two. ES SAID: Isn't this great? Of course, it's all about the problems Shannen had with the press during BH90201 and all of the spin. CARINA SAID: Oh, Holly. ES SAID: I so wish this is how they still are! CARINA SAID: I bet, long hours, of course, sleep is key. ES SAID: No, again this is proving that she's grown and matured and is not the problem child she was when she was younger. CARINA SAID: It sure would. Well-done, Pheebs. ES: And I'm sure Pheebs will appreciate that. You'll noticed she changed her last name - being Pheebs Halliwell wouldn't make sense reviewing a series starring the Halliwells! She could get away with it when the family are the Warrens, but not the Halliwells! CARINA SAID: I'm loving these, no doubt, based on real ones. This is fun, I'm seeing what I never saw back in the day. ES SAID: Oh, yes, definitely based on ones from back in the day. I never saw any of them back then when I first watched the series, so they truly are great fun. CARINA SAID: And love this Premise outline. CARINA SAID: That she is, Shannen is fantastic. ES SAID: And again it's all about her no longer being a problem child. CARINA SAID: Exactly. ES SAID: CARINA SAID: Now, I get why it moved off Wednesday, being up against Party of Five, another sibling centric series. Smart call The WB. ES SAID: Most definitely!! I almost wish we'd done that with EC - move it to Thursday - so they wouldn't have to battle the Super Bowl and the award shows and all of the other stuff CBS put on Sunday nights. But again, both switching networks AND nights might have lost EC a lot of viewers. CARINA SAID: I love this intro with Grams, this really sets the stage of the series so well. Love it. And it is like canon from Pre-Witched where she falls down the stairs and Piper finds her. ES SAID: Exactly so. Summer Reading, one of our Team Charmed Cafe members started a series called Charmed: ReImagined and she started it based on "PreWitched". CCDOW actually started out with us giving her ideas of what do to with her series, but then both groups started coming up with their own ideas (like how to use Peyton, who isn't part of Summer's) and they developed into CCDOW. CARINA SAID: I'm so glad Piper is doing that, and yes, Grams would want her to ollow her dreams. ES SAID: Again based on 'PreWitched'. CARINA SAID: And I remember the videotape tease in the deadline articles. Can't wait. ES SAID: Hehehehe - glad we only teased and didn't spoil! CARINA SAID: And I love that this is how Phoebe comes home, of course, she is staying. ES SAID: SO different than her just coming home because she was broke - I HATED that! Coming home and staying home due to Grams' death makes SO much more sense! -------------- CARINA SAID: That is cool, you had Prue not say I love you back, that fits well with continuity with From Fear to Eternity, what a cool way to make that a call-back. ES SAID: But it's NOT a call-back! Remember - we're back in 1998! And you wouldnn't know a THING about 'From Fear to Eternity' until it airs! Of course you HAVE seen it and know about it, but we had fun teasing it. CARINA SAID: I'm glad they do. Love the spirit board moving in the background unseen by them. ES SAID: CARINA SAID: And this is perfect to bring in Darryl. I'm assuming Darryl is playing Andy's role, and Peyton Fallon is playing Darryl's. I like that it lets the show have a female supporting star than just the sisters. Good call. ES SAID: And, of course, you know that from what I told you in the EC thread. We tried to keep it as female-centric as possible. Not as female-centric as EC - we might have gone overboard there - but more than classic Charmed. CARINA SAID: ES SAID: CARINA SAID: I love that you included the funeral, and Piper gets to read her eulogy. ES SAID: Wouldn't that have made you cry and feel for the sisters more than what happened in the actual premiere? CARINA SAID: Love this, already knowing Darryl knew them when they were young, and he knows Grams. Yes, keep out of the moment Peyton. ES SAID: All part of making Darryl more like Andy and Peyton more like herself, not one of the other characters like either Darryl *or* Paige. CARINA SAID: Perfect, to have her die here now, the second murder. ES SAID: We tried to make all of our beginnings be all about the sisters. That will be hard to do once we start doing story arcs, but we sure want to try! CARINA SAID: I love this, and I liked this scene from canon, with the changes. ES SAID: CARINA SAID: That cat sure likes you. ES SAID: Yup. I wonder why... CARINA SAID: Watch that video. ES SAID: Yup - again, you know that from the preview. CARINA SAID: I love this addition, perfect, and I really like her leaving this for them. ES SAID: CARINA SAID: And so proud of Grams for saying that it is their choice to do it or not. ES SAID: I hated that it *wasn't* truly their choice - gave Piper the choice to constantly whine about it! CARINA SAID: I'm not surprised Phoebe is excited over the others. ES SAID: Nope. She didn't really have a life she wanted changed right here while her sisters did. CARINA SAID: What a great pilot episode. I really had fun with this, and picturing the story playing out in my head. ES SAID: YAY!!!!
ES SAID: This should give you an idea what Sunday's group's version is like. (There's also a Saturday group, but they're not ready to post their version yet since it still has a ton of inconsistencies - happens when you combine episodes, which is why we Sunday group decided to not do that.) CARINA SAID: It gives us a wonderful idea of what it is about. Thanks for sharing. ES SAID: My pleasure! I hope it helped you figure out what you want to do with your own fantasy version! Please post more, Esmeralda, when you can. ES SAID: Carina, I'm glad that unlike Tim you understand what "I'm not going to release more until those reading Elemental Charmed finish" means. I'm so glad that you want to read this, but you want to finish reading EC first. I will not update until you do.

Loved reading your reactions Carina to CCDOW. I'm about to have a re-watch and discussion of 'Witch Trial' tonight on the Charmed Cafe. We start S2 tonight. YAY!!! Can't wait. So, if I'm not too tired after, I'll come back and catch up on comments here, and EC. Can't wait to see what you think of it.

So you've started Season Two now.
I have to admit, I'm envying the fun you're all having making this.

CARINA SAID: Thank you Team Charmed Cafe. ES SAID: Our pleasure! I hope someday you'll be able to join Team Charmed Cafe! CARINA SAID: I hope I can too. I'm normally always busy on Saturdays, as you've noticed, me not being online from Friday to Sunday with friends or my mom and family. So we'll see, maybe something I'd consider next year. And if it works with my time and schedules. CARINA SAID: Now I feel like I'm taken back to 1998. I'm already liking it. ES: YAY! That's what we hoped it would do for fans. CARINA SAID: Me too, I'm so sad to hear that isn't the case. I hope they can mend fences. They were the closest for 25 years, and it is heartbreaking to hear that isn't true now. I had upset to hear Holly got married again recently, and Shannen wasn't at her wedding. Actually neither were Rose or Alyssa. Makes me feel like none of them are actually really as close as we think, and may have been just work friends. CARINA SAID: I bet, long hours, of course, sleep is key. ES SAID: No, again this is proving that she's grown and matured and is not the problem child she was when she was younger. CARINA SAID: And I'm glad she is Shannen. CARINA SAID: It sure would. CARINA SAID: I'm loving these, no doubt, based on real ones. This is fun, I'm seeing what I never saw back in the day. ES SAID: Oh, yes, definitely based on ones from back in the day. But again, both switching networks AND nights might have lost EC a lot of viewers. CARINA SAID: That's true. We wouldn't want EC to lose viewers. I'd imagine on Sundays, it would have a family feel night, with mothers and daughters and grandmas sitting down Sunday Nights to watch EC together. CARINA SAID: That sounds wonderful. If Charmed: ReImagined is the series I saw on Fanfiction.net, then I think I remember what you are talking about. But, I'm so glad to hear this inspired all these stories, that I love. Looks like so many have killed it at creating a really great Charmed pilot. It makes me think more than ever, that Something Wicca This Way Comes works better as a two-parter. I actually didn't like the ones we really got. Because for the most part I only liked one half of the two-parter or hated both, or the episodes didn't even need to be two parts. It felt like they played the same theme in all three, with the cliffhanger being one sister turns away from her sisters and runs away e.g Paige in Charmed Again, Phoebe in A Witches Tail and Piper in Valley of whatever the heck it was (shows how much I hated it, that I can't even remember the title). CARINA SAID: I'm so glad Piper is doing that, and yes, Grams would want her to follow her dreams. ES SAID: Again based on 'PreWitched'. CARINA SAID: Makes me wonder what you'll do with PreWitched when you guys get to S3, will you guys tell the events with how Phoebe left for New York, how Piper meets Jeremy, and Grams making her videotape. CARINA SAID: And I remember the videotape tease in the deadline articles. Can't wait. ES SAID: Hehehehe - glad we only teased and didn't spoil! CARINA SAID: Me too. I do love a good tease, it builds excitement. CARINA SAID: And I love that this is how Phoebe comes home, of course, she is staying. ES SAID: SO different than her just coming home because she was broke - I HATED that! Coming home and staying home due to Grams' death makes SO much more sense! CARINA SAID: I really am proud of you guys, it really was a great creative decision with Team Charmed Cafe, and makes so much more sense. CARINA SAID: I should have said follow-up, not call-back. Sorry. CARINA SAID: I'm glad they do. Love the spirit board moving in the background unseen by them. ES SAID: CARINA SAID: CARINA SAID: And this is perfect to bring in Darryl. I'm assuming Darryl is playing Andy's role, and Peyton Fallon is playing Darryl's. I like that it lets the show have a female supporting star than just the sisters. Good call. ES SAID: Wouldn't that have made you cry and feel for the sisters more than what happened in the actual premiere? CARINA SAID: It should would have, and actually feel for the sisters more than what happened in the actual premiere for sure. Like I said earlier, the first episode really needed to be two parts. CARINA SAID: I'm glad to hear it. ES SAID: I hated that it *wasn't* truly their choice - gave Piper the choice to constantly whine about it! CARINA SAID: I know right. That got old fast with Piper, and by Season Five, I just got to the point, I rolled my eyes and wanted to scream because she made the choice to stay a witch when she had an out. She says at times, that being a Charmed One is who they are, yet goes back on that answer, time and time again. CARINA SAID: I'm not surprised Phoebe is excited over the others. ES SAID: Nope. She didn't really have a life she wanted changed right here while her sisters did. CARINA SAID: Yes. CARINA SAID: What a great pilot episode. CARINA SAID: It has helped me Es. Why I decided to re-read this and reply to your comments, as it helped fuel some creative juices. ------------------------------ ES SAID: Right now this is just more of a teaser - I'm not going to release more until those reading Elemental Charmed finish. Ah yes, the Piper whine-a-thon. She could kill demons with her shrill voice alone.
And don't even get me started on how she treated Leo in the later seasons, more like a personal slave than a husband.
One thing you lot might like about the reboot is that Harry, their white lighter, is treated with respect by the Vera sisters. He is their friend, not their slave.
Nice thing about Fan Fiction. Squabbling actors are not a factor here.

And if it works with my time and schedules. ES SAID: Ah. You didn't mention in the EC thread that you're also busy on Sundays. Of course Real Life comes first - we all (well, most of us...) understand that - darn anyway! CARINA SAID: Now I feel like I'm taken back to 1998. I'm already liking it. ES: YAY! That's what we hoped it would do for fans. CARINA SAID: CARINA SAID: I love the way this is written. How I see Charmed. Of course, it's all about the problems Shannen had with the press during BH90201 and all of the spin. CARINA SAID: I sure think so. ES SAID: Well, from what we've read, they actually were that close the first couple of years, but that changed in S3, although I've always wondered how much of THAT was spin, especially after the problems Shannen had on the BH90210 set. CARINA SAID: I bet, long hours, of course, sleep is key. ES SAID: No, again this is proving that she's grown and matured and is not the problem child she was when she was younger. CARINA SAID: And I'm glad she is Shannen. ES SAID: AMEN! For me, I really don't care what they're like off-set, just as long as they're professionals on-set and from what I've read they all were. There was no real need to fire Shannen except she wanted to make the episodes better and no way male-chauvinist-pig Brad Kern could allow a woman to do that! CARINA SAID: I did notice that, and I think that makes perfect sense. Thanks for explaining why, I was wondering. ES SAID: Then I'm very glad I explained it. I must admit it's fun telling about stuff like that! CARINA SAID: I'm glad you are enjoying them too. This is fun for all of us. ES SAID: Most definitely! We're SO lucky that Pheebs had SUCH fun doing these for EC that she decided to also do them for CCDOW! CARINA SAID: And love this Premise outline. CARINA SAID: That she is, Shannen is fantastic. ES SAID: And again it's all about her no longer being a problem child. CARINA SAID: YAY!!! ES SAID: CARINA SAID: Exactly. ES SAID: CARINA SAID: CARINA SAID: Now, I get why it moved off Wednesday, being up against Party of Five, another sibling centric series. Smart call The WB. ES SAID: Most definitely!! ES SAID: Never thought of it that way, but you're absolutely right! Good call. ES SAID: And, of course, you know that from what I told you in the EC thread. We tried to keep it as female-centric as possible. Not as female-centric as EC - we might have gone overboard there - but more than classic Charmed. CARINA SAID: And you did a great job with it. CARINA SAID: ES SAID: CARINA SAID: CARINA SAID: I love that you included the funeral, and Piper gets to read her eulogy. CARINA SAID: I'm glad to hear it. CARINA SAID: Perfect, to have her die here now, the second murder. ES SAID: We tried to make all of our beginnings be all about the sisters. That will be hard to do once we start doing story arcs, but we sure want to try! CARINA SAID: I'm glad you did, and I hope you can do this when you get into story arcs. I have faith you can. CARINA SAID: I love this, and I liked this scene from canon, with the changes. ES SAID: CARINA SAID: CARINA SAID: That cat sure likes you. ES SAID: Yup. I wonder why... CARINA SAID: CARINA SAID: Watch that video. ES SAID: Yup - again, you know that from the preview. CARINA SAID: I sure did. CARINA SAID: I love this addition, perfect, and I really like her leaving this for them. ES SAID: CARINA SAID: CARINA SAID: And so proud of Grams for saying that it is their choice to do it or not. I really had fun with this, and picturing the story playing out in my head. ES SAID: YAY!!!! CARINA SAID:
ES SAID: This should give you an idea what Sunday's group's version is like. (There's also a Saturday group, but they're not ready to post their version yet since it still has a ton of inconsistencies - happens when you combine episodes, which is why we Sunday group decided to not do that.) CARINA SAID: It gives us a wonderful idea of what it is about. Thanks for sharing. ES SAID: My pleasure! I hope it helped you figure out what you want to do with your own fantasy version! CARINA SAID: It has helped me Es. Why I decided to re-read this and reply to your comments, as it helped fuel some creative juices. ------------------------------ ES SAID: Right now this is just more of a teaser - I'm not going to release more until those reading Elemental Charmed finish. CARINA SAID: Thanks, a great teaser, and I agree until I finish EC. But, it already has a YES from me for wanting to read on, when I'm done with EC. ES SAID: Carina, I'm glad that unlike Tim you understand what "I'm not going to release more until those reading Elemental Charmed finish" means. I'm so glad that you want to read this, but you want to finish reading EC first. I will not update until you do. CARINA SAID: Me too, I can wait until I'm done with EC.
Given what we now know about Kern, this really hits now, doesn't it.

ES SAID: Ah. You didn't mention in the EC thread that you're also busy on Sundays. Of course Real Life comes first - we all (well, most of us...) understand that - darn anyway! CARINA SAID: I do attend Church on Sundays, although I'm not a weekly goer, we make sure to go for sure once or twice a month (I did this weekend), and occasionally do some outings after it through the afternoon.. Yes, Real Life does come first, and glad most of you understand that. CARINA SAID: Now I feel like I'm taken back to 1998. I'm already liking it. ES: YAY! That's what we hoped it would do for fans. CARINA SAID: CARINA SAID: I love the way this is written. How I see Charmed. CARINA SAID: YES!!! ES SAID: SOOOO glad that you agree! CARINA SAID: Yes!!! CARINA SAID: Love you two. ES SAID: Isn't this great? Of course, it's all about the problems Shannen had with the press during BH90201 and all of the spin. CARINA SAID: I sure think so. I'm sure that spin would all be talk with her return from her old show. ES SAID: And from what I've read, it most definitely was! CARINA SAID: It sure was. I never really buy into all that tabloid press. I never really buy it, it is just for clicks and attention. CARINA SAID: Oh, Holly. ES SAID: I so wish this is how they still are! ES SAID: Well, from what we've read, they actually were that close the first couple of years, but that changed in S3, although I've always wondered how much of THAT was spin, especially after the problems Shannen had on the BH90210 set. CARINA SAID: I would not be surprised. And from watching those Dailies (before CBS took them down as we know) they are amazing in the Season 3 videos. Actually, they were so good between takes, and Shannen was laughing about something Alyssa said and another time they were laughing together. I refuse to believe it was more than spin. I do think they may have had a few disagreements, but nothing as major as we thought. I don't buy that at all, all spin, or maybe one small fight that was blown up to be made into this on going feud. CARINA SAID: Me too, and that is all we want right. And they always were like that. It would not surprise me at all, if the reason Kern fired Shannen is because she was the only one standing up to him about the scripts and wanting to make the show better, and the reason he fired her after Season 3, and not Season 4, is because he knew their contracts were up, and both her and Holly wouldn't sign on. And to scare the others to stay in line. So the real drama was Shannen vs. Kern, not Shannen vs. Alyssa. They are both professionals, and you can so tell, by watching the dailies for Season 3. I don't buy into all the drama. I only care that they are professionals on-set. And, so I always love them on my favorite show. CARINA SAID: I did notice that, and I think that makes perfect sense. Thanks for explaining why, I was wondering. ES SAID: Then I'm very glad I explained it. I must admit it's fun telling about stuff like that! CARINA SAID: Thanks, keep doing it, as I love hearing it. CARINA SAID: I'm glad you are enjoying them too. This is fun for all of us. ES SAID: Most definitely! We're SO lucky that Pheebs had SUCH fun doing these for EC that she decided to also do them for CCDOW! CARINA SAID: You sure are. I am loving these, and happy she is doing them again for CCDOW, too. ES SAID: Not sure how much of this I'll get through, since I have to get to work in ten minutes - anything I don't finish I will tonight when I get home. LATER: DARN IT! I was almost done finishing posting this and I hit the wrong button and it all went away! I really should know better and put this in Word! I am now!! To sure you and the others see this, I'm going to tag all of you. Carina Pheebs phoebeville CARINA SAID: Thank you Team Charmed Cafe. ES SAID: Our pleasure! Yes, Real Life does come first, and glad most of you understand that. ES SAID: I also go to church - I'm Catholic and I go every weekend. That's why I'm glad our re-watches are in the evenings. As a Catholic, I only believe in a matriarchal line of witches with powers as fantasy, not real, especially not the brides of Satan as the Old Testament believed. I only believe in the New Testament: Turn the other cheek as compared to An eye for an eye... CARINA SAID: Now I feel like I'm taken back to 1998. I'm already liking it. ES: YAY! ES SAID: Hehehe that definitely tells the tale. But I'm with you - my all-time least-favorite episodes are 'Oh, My Goddess!' and 'Valhalley of the Dolls.' They very simply totally ruined my favorite show! Good call. ES SAID: And, of course, you know that from what I told you in the EC thread. We tried to keep it as female-centric as possible. Not as female-centric as EC - we might have gone overboard there - but more than classic Charmed. CARINA SAID: And you did a great job with it. ES SAID: CARINA SAID: ES SAID: CARINA SAID: CARINA SAID: I love that you included the funeral, and Piper gets to read her eulogy. ES SAID: Well, the premiere of a new show isn't really for the fans - the pilot is what the producers use to sell it to the network and the suits probably would've gotten bored if they did two episodes worth. That's what a friend who works for one of the fan sites has told me - hence why most fans liked the second episode of the rip-off more than the first - the first was for the suits; the second was for the fans, and I'm going to guess that the same was true for Classic Charmed. CARINA SAID: I'm glad to hear it. ES SAID: CARINA SAID: Perfect, to have her die here now, the second murder. ES SAID: We tried to make all of our beginnings be all about the sisters. That will be hard to do once we start doing story arcs, but we sure want to try! CARINA SAID: I'm glad you did, and I hope you can do this when you get into story arcs. I have faith you can. ES SAID: Well, with five of us working on it, hopefully ONE of us will! ES SAID: And I'm SO glad those worked as teasers and not spoilers!!! CARINA SAID: I love this addition, perfect, and I really like her leaving this for them. ES SAID: CARINA SAID: CARINA SAID: And so proud of Grams for saying that it is their choice to do it or not. ES SAID: I hated that it *wasn't* truly their choice - gave Piper the chance to constantly whine about it! ES SAID: Personally I just think Piper isn't happy if she doesn't have something to whine about. I have a friend who's like that, and I admit I can only take so much of it before I have to go take a walk. But we've been friends since 6th grade and I like so many other things about her (she has a fantastic dry sense of humor that keeps us laughing when she's not whining!) that I tolerate it, just like I'm sure there's things about me that she tolerates for the sake of our friendship. CARINA SAID: I'm not surprised Phoebe is excited over the others. ES SAID: Nope. She didn't really have a life she wanted changed right here while her sisters did. CARINA SAID: Yes. ES SAID: CARINA SAID: What a great pilot episode.
ES SAID: YIPPEE!! I LOVE how you combined this with EC!!!! ES SAID: And I'm SOOO happy that i was able to finish this!

One of the good things about writing your own universe. You can air your show whenever you like.

PVILLE SAID: That makes me think of the Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, where they make witches following the teachings of Satan, and worshipping Satan to get their powers, and the second they did that, I turned off the show. Nope, I'll watch the funny Sabrina comedy series, not this one. The only thing I like is that they changed the name of the show, so it isn't Sabrina the Teenage Witch.
I'm with you guys in how witches are portrayed with powers as fantasy, not real.
CARINA SAID: Now I feel like I'm taken back to 1998. I'm already liking it. ES: YAY! That's what we hoped it would do for fans. CARINA SAID: ES SAID:
PVILLE SAID: I love this, and of course, it mentions 90210. CARINA SAID: YES!!! ES SAID: SOOOO glad that you agree! CARINA SAID: Yes!!!
PVILLE SAID: I want the struggles between the sisters and their relationship.
ES SAID: It definitely is. I always trusted it as far as I could throw the Manor!
PVILLE SAID: Me either.
CARINA SAID: Oh, Holly. ES SAID: I so wish this is how they still are! ES SAID: I'm SO disappointed that they took those dailies down - they were SUCH fun - and as you said, it shows that they *were* friendly even when the cameras were off. Of course I don't think we got to see late-season dailies and that's when there was supposed to be problems.
PVILLE SAID: I saw a few of them, but never got to see them all. I'm so sad to hear they are gone.
CARINA SAID: Me too, and that is all we want right. And they always were like that. ES SAID:
PVILLE SAID: Shannen isn't the wild child no more.
----------------- ES SAID: There was no real need to fire Shannen except she wanted to make the episodes better and no way male-chauvinist-pig Brad Kern could allow a woman to do that! CARINA SAID: It would not surprise me at all, if the reason Kern fired Shannen is because she was the only one standing up to him about the scripts and wanting to make the show better, and the reason he fired her after Season 3, and not Season 4, is because he knew their contracts were up, and both her and Holly wouldn't sign on. ES SAID: *nods* All exactly so.
PVILLE SAID: I'm not surprised. They are professionals, and won't let it show in the show. Once the filming day ends, they can walk off set and no speak to each other, or decide to go to their trailers, and be left alone.
ES SAID: I shall when it comes up.
PVILLE SAID: Please do, like Carina said.
ES SAID: PVILLE SAID: I love reading this, I've never seen these articles before, so nice to be reminded of where our show came from.
CARINA SAID: And love this Premise outline. ES SAID: Me, too. Again I'm sure it's based on the real ones.
PVILLE SAID: I loved reading this based on the real ones.
CARINA SAID: That she is, Shannen is fantastic. ES SAID: And again it's all about her no longer being a problem child. CARINA SAID: YAY!!! ES SAID: PVILLE SAID: Shannen is so great actress.
And unfortunately my alarm just went off and I have to get to work. Like I said, I'll finish this when I get home tonight. And now I FINALLY "get" to try to rewrite what I just wrote earlier!CARINA SAID: Exactly. ES SAID: CARINA SAID:
PVILLE SAID: Yes, that is what we want to see. How little or big of an input did Spelling have, he died only a month I think after Charmed ended, So I think he barely had much to do at least in the later seasons. Was he an actual writer, or he just had his production company to make shows, but did zero with writing.
CARINA SAID: Now, I get why it moved off Wednesday, being up against Party of Five, another sibling centric series. Smart call The WB. CARINA SAID: That's true. We wouldn't want EC to lose viewers. I'd imagine on Sundays, it would have a family feel night, with mothers and daughters and grandmas sitting down Sunday Nights to watch EC together. ES SAID: Never thought of it that way, but you're absolutely right! CARINA SAID:
PVILLE SAID: That makes sense, Carina.
CARINA SAID: That sounds wonderful. If Charmed: ReImagined is the series I saw on Fanfiction.net, then I think I remember what you are talking about. But, I'm so glad to hear this inspired all these stories, that I love. ES SAID: Well, it only inspired this one, but I'm so glad it did, even if it sidetracked Summer away from her story so she could work on this one (We did EC before she started on C:RI). I still hope she finishes it.
PVILLE SAID: And again more backstory on your series. I do like seeing Grams at the start.
--------- CARINA SAID: Looks like so many have killed it at creating a really great Charmed pilot. ES SAID: Hehehe that definitely tells the tale. But I'm with you - my all-time least-favorite episodes are 'Oh, My Goddess!' and 'Valhalley of the Dolls.' They very simply totally ruined my favorite show!
PVILLE SAID: I'm with you, it sure would make a great two-parter.
I don't like 'Oh, My Goddess!' and 'Valhalley of the Dolls.' either. Bringing up opening season episodes and closing, I don't like anything from Season Five or Six.
And none of the two-parters were that great, while the one-shot episodes like 'Morality Bites' or 'All Hell Breaks Loose' could have been better two-parters, of course changed to work.
CARINA SAID: I'm so glad Piper is doing that, and yes, Grams would want her to follow her dreams.
PVILLE SAID: Good on you Piper.
PVILLE SAID: It sure does.
PVILLE SAID: That really made me smile, I'm so happy to hear that is the reason why she returned home. Much better.
CARINA SAID: I should have said follow-up, not call-back. Sorry.
PVILLE SAID: I noticed that reading this, I'll have to wait and see what happens in later episodes, once we finish EC.
CARINA SAID: I'm glad they do. Love the spirit board moving in the background unseen by them. ES SAID: CARINA SAID: PVILLE SAID: I'm glad they did that for the funeral. Please don't fight.
CARINA SAID: And this is perfect to bring in Darryl. I'm assuming Darryl is playing Andy's role, and Peyton Fallon is playing Darryl's. I like that it lets the show have a female supporting star than just the sisters. Good call. ES SAID: And, of course, you know that from what I told you in the EC thread. We tried to keep it as female-centric as possible. Not as female-centric as EC - we might have gone overboard there - but more than classic Charmed. CARINA SAID: And you did a great job with it. ES SAID: PVILLE SAID: I see you have some differences. I do like this being as female-centric as possible.
CARINA SAID: ES SAID: CARINA SAID: PVILLE SAID:I'm sure she did a nice eulogy.
CARINA SAID: I love that you included the funeral, and Piper gets to read her eulogy.
PVILLE SAID: And that is funny, because some shows have done two episodes worth, Original 90210, Lois and Clark, Lost and Buffy the Vampire Slayer come to mind. All started with two hour episodes.
I'm going to guess this what they do now with television shows, not back in the day. Or maybe they could have produced an original unaired pilot or pilot presentation that is 30 mins long, for the producers to sell the show, and then they shoot a new pilot, allowing them to make it two-hours/two-parts. If that makes sense.
But, yeah, fake Charmed's pilot was so bad, it did improve a little in episode 2, but just got worse and of course, I gave up.
CARINA SAID: I'm glad to hear it. ES SAID: PVILLE SAID: I'm glad, they sound like their characters.
ES SAID: Well, with five of us working on it, hopefully ONE of us will!
PVILLE SAID: This flows right into canon with Serena dying, yes, love her as the second victim in the pilot.
CARINA SAID: I love this, and I liked this scene from canon, with the changes. ES SAID: CARINA SAID: PVILLE SAID: Me too, why change too much, just keep it and make it work for this version.
CARINA SAID: That cat sure likes you. ES SAID: Yup. I wonder why... CARINA SAID:
PVILLE SAID: Kit! CARINA SAID: Watch that video. ES SAID: Yup - again, you know that from the preview. CARINA SAID: I sure did. ES SAID: And I'm SO glad those worked as teasers and not spoilers!!!
PVILLE SAID: And the teasers worked, not to spoil too much.
CARINA SAID: I love this addition, perfect, and I really like her leaving this for them. ES SAID: CARINA SAID: PVILLE SAID: Me too.
CARINA SAID: And so proud of Grams for saying that it is their choice to do it or not.
PVILLE SAID: I'm happy she said that too.
ES SAID: I hated that it *wasn't* truly their choice - gave Piper the chance to constantly whine about it! CARINA SAID: I know right. That got old fast with Piper, and by Season Five, I just got to the point, I rolled my eyes and wanted to scream because she made the choice to stay a witch when she had an out. PVILLE SAID: I'm glad you can find something else you love about your friend. That reminds me of my college roommate, but I'm glad I don't live with her now, otherwise we'd drive each other crazy, she sure did at times. But I love her dearly, and we are still friends today. We just can't live together on a daily basis, because we're so different, but at the same time, I love her so much.
I'll wonder if this is why Shannen drove Holly away after her cancer, she couldn't take Holly no more. I don't buy that Holly left Shannen over her cancer, I believe Shannen is the one who left her, because she expected too much from Holly, and her need to whine wasn't what she wanted to be around no more. But, that is just me, we'll never know for sure.
CARINA SAID: I'm not surprised Phoebe is excited over the others. ES SAID: Nope. She didn't really have a life she wanted changed right here while her sisters did. CARINA SAID: Yes. ES SAID: CARINA SAID: What a great pilot episode. I really had fun with this, and picturing the story playing out in my head. ES SAID: YAY!!!! CARINA SAID: PVILLE SAID: I loved this pilot.

As I understand it, the reason you have two nights is because your posters are all in different time zones (Granny Charmed, for example, being in Australia).

CARINA SAID: I do attend Church on Sundays, although I'm not a weekly goer, we make sure to go for sure once or twice a month (I did this weekend), and occasionally do some outings after it through the afternoon.. Yes, Real Life does come first, and glad most of you understand that.
ES SAID: Yes, that's what witches (and they're always women) are in the Bible. That's definitely not what witches on Bewitched or Charmed are. I'm glad Charmed proved that with their second episode!
-------------
PVILLE SAID: The only thing I like is that they changed the name of the show, so it isn't Sabrina the Teenage Witch.
ES SAID: I SO wish that thee rip-off had done that. Had they, I wouldn't be calling them a rip-off. It's why we named Elemental Charmed THAT rather than Charmed.
--------------
PVILLE SAID: I'm with you guys in how witches are portrayed with powers as fantasy, not real.
ES SAID *nods* Exactly so.
CARINA SAID: Now I feel like I'm taken back to 1998. I'm already liking it. ES: YAY! That's what we hoped it would do for fans. CARINA SAID: ES SAID: PVILLE SAID: I love this, and of course, it mentions 90210. ES SAID: CARINA SAID: I love the way this is written. CARINA SAID: YES!!! ES SAID: SOOOO glad that you agree! CARINA SAID: Yes!!! PVILLE SAID: I want the struggles between the sisters and their relationship. ES SAID: CARINA SAID: Love you two. ES SAID: It definitely is. I always trusted it as far as I could throw the Manor! PVILLE SAID: Me either. ES SAID: CARINA SAID: Oh, Holly. ES SAID: I so wish this is how they still are!
ES SAID: Me, too. I hope they decide to add them to a future edition of the DVDs - what a great bonus feature they would be!
CARINA SAID: Me too, and that is all we want right. And they always were like that. ES SAID: PVILLE SAID: Shannen isn't the wild child no more.
ES SAID: Nope - that's what this article is truly all about.
ES SAID: *nods* All exactly so. PVILLE SAID: I'm not surprised. They are professionals, and won't let it show in the show. Once the filming day ends, they can walk off set and no speak to each other, or decide to go to their trailers, and be left alone.
ES SAID: *nods* Exactly.
ES SAID: I shall when it comes up. PVILLE SAID: Please do, like Carina said. ES SAID: CARINA SAID: I'm loving these, no doubt, based on real ones. This is fun, I'm seeing what I never saw back in the day. ES SAID: Oh, yes, definitely based on ones from back in the day. I never saw any of them back then when I first watched the series, so they truly are great fun. ES SAID: PVILLE SAID: I love reading this, I've never seen these articles before, so nice to be reminded of where our show came from.
ES SAID: That's why we were all so happy when Pheebs decided to do these for CCDOW the way she did for EC. CARINA SAID: And love this Premise outline. ES SAID: Me, too. Again I'm sure it's based on the real ones. PVILLE SAID: I loved reading this based on the real ones.
ES SAID: Me, too.
CARINA SAID: That she is, Shannen is fantastic. ES SAID: And again it's all about her no longer being a problem child. CARINA SAID: YAY!!! ES SAID: PVILLE SAID: Shannen is so great actress.
ES SAID: Yup. She sure proved that on Riverdale, while I hear that Holly and Alyssa didn't on Grey's Anatomy. I've only seen the clips, but so I've heard.
ES SAID: That was 8 years after the show started. No, he had a TON of input! Kern was to Spelling what Shax was to the Source. CARINA SAID: Now, I get why it moved off Wednesday, being up against Party of Five, another sibling centric series. Smart call The WB.
ES SAID: That's thanks to Summer Reading doing that in her Charmed: ReImagined series. Both Saturday's group and Sunday's group liked the idea so much that we each did the same - but we each did it differently than hers or the other group.
--------- CARINA SAID: Looks like so many have killed it at creating a really great Charmed pilot.
PVILLE SAID: You are absolutely right about that!
CARINA SAID: I'm so glad Piper is doing that, and yes, Grams would want her to follow her dreams. PVILLE SAID: Good on you Piper. ES SAID: Again based on 'PreWitched'. CARINA SAID: Makes me wonder what you'll do with PreWitched when you guys get to S3, will you guys tell the events with how Phoebe left for New York, how Piper meets Jeremy, and Grams making her videotape. ES SAID: We'll first have to see if we even get to S3! Gotta get to S2 first. We'll worry about that when we get to it. More likely we'll just skip it since it won't do what PreWitched did - just like P3 H20, it helped Piper decide what she should do. CARINA SAID: And I remember the videotape tease in the deadline articles. Can't wait. ES SAID: Hehehehe - glad we only teased and didn't spoil! CARINA SAID: Me too. I do love a good tease, it builds excitement.
PVILLE SAID: It sure does. ES SAID: CARINA SAID: And I love that this is how Phoebe comes home, of course, she is staying. ES SAID: SO different than her just coming home because she was broke - I HATED that! Coming home and staying home due to Grams' death makes SO much more sense! CARINA SAID: I really am proud of you guys, it really was a great creative decision with Team Charmed Cafe, and makes so much more sense.
PVILLE SAID: That really made me smile, I'm so happy to hear that is the reason why she returned home. Much better. ES SAID: Glad you think so! CARINA SAID: I should have said follow-up, not call-back. Sorry. PVILLE SAID: I noticed that reading this, I'll have to wait and see what happens in later episodes, once we finish EC.
ES SAID: We added that after we watched 'From Fear to Eternity'. The fun of not posting stories until you have them the way you want to. Once you post it publicly, the plotline is written in stone - you can't go back and change it. Hence why Saturday's group doesn't want theirs posted until they get a chance to fix their inconsistencies. CARINA SAID: I'm glad they do. Love the spirit board moving in the background unseen by them. ES SAID: CARINA SAID: PVILLE SAID: I'm glad they did that for the funeral. Please don't fight. ES SAID: It really would've been rude to do that. I'm glad they love Grams enough to behave!
ES SAID: Yup, we wanted to keep love relationships to a minimum in the first season so that like EC, you could get to know the sisters. And with Darryl (who's married to Sheila and has a son, Mikey) playing Andy's role and Peyton playing Darryl's, you don't give Prue a relationship in this first season.
CARINA SAID: ES SAID: CARINA SAID: PVILLE SAID:I'm sure she did a nice eulogy.
ES SAID: I'll bet she had everyone crying - including the viewers, even if they've just met the Halliwells.
CARINA SAID: I love that you included the funeral, and Piper gets to read her eulogy.
ES SAID: Other networks spent more money on their pilots....
CARINA SAID: I'm glad to hear it. ES SAID: PVILLE SAID: I'm glad, they sound like their characters. ES SAID: I'm glad you think so. ES SAID: Well, with five of us working on it, hopefully ONE of us will! PVILLE SAID: This flows right into canon with Serena dying, yes, love her as the second victim in the pilot.
ES SAID: We want all of our episodes to begin and end with the sisters. We don't know if we'll be able to do that when we get into story arcs, but we're sure going to try.
CARINA SAID: I love this, and I liked this scene from canon, with the changes. ES SAID: CARINA SAID: PVILLE SAID: Me too, why change too much, just keep it and make it work for this version.
ES SAID: Yup. Why reinvent the wheel? We're not professional writers, unlike the ones who wrote these.
CARINA SAID: That cat sure likes you. ES SAID: Yup. I wonder why... CARINA SAID: PVILLE SAID: Kit! ES SAID: Yup! We wanted to make her more of a familiar, but that didn't work out since she wasn't on the show.
ES SAID: YAY! I'm so glad! CARINA SAID: I love this addition, perfect, and I really like her leaving this for them. ES SAID: CARINA SAID: PVILLE SAID: Me too. ES SAID: CARINA SAID: And so proud of Grams for saying that it is their choice to do it or not.
She says at times, that being a Charmed One is who they are, yet goes back on that answer, time and time again.
ES SAID: Oh, I'd never live with a friend! I did that once and now we're no longer friends!
--------------
PVILLE: I'll wonder if this is why Shannen drove Holly away after her cancer, she couldn't take Holly no more. I don't buy that Holly left Shannen over her cancer, I believe Shannen is the one who left her, because she expected too much from Holly, and her need to whine wasn't what she wanted to be around no more. But, that is just me, we'll never know for sure.
ES: I think it might have been the other way around where Shannen would only talk about her cancer and nothing else and it bummed out Holly so she could only take so much. Also, both are now on opposite sides of the political crap (Shannen's Republican and Holly's Democrat) and nowadays that can ruin many a friendship.
ES SAID: I'm so glad!
ES SAID: YIPPEE!! I LOVE how you combined this with EC!!!! PVILLE SAID: And I se that you did, I'm going to wait until your pilot is done, to read the whole thing. So excited to see it, when I do read.
ES SAID: Very good idea - then you can concentrate on EC. The quicker you and Carina get through that, the quicker I'll post the rest of S1 of CCDOW.
ES SAID: And I'm SOOO happy that i was able to finish this! PVILLE SAID: This was a good tease for CCDOW. ES SAID:

Ugh, tell me about it. This concept of witches is so outdated. Even old sitcoms like Bewitched and I Dream Of Jeanie are light years ahead.
And I like the 90's Sabrina sitcom too. At least it had a more modern view of witches (in fact, Archie Comics updated the characters once the sitcom took off).

ES SAID: Yes, that's what witches (and they're always women) are in the Bible. That's definitely not what witches on Bewitched or Charmed are. I'm glad Charmed proved that with their second episode!
PVILLE SAID: I'm so glad Charmed proved that they were not. I can see why Bewitched, Sabrina the Teenage Witch and Charmed are so popular with fans. Those three the are ones the pop right into my head when I think of witches on television.
PVILLE SAID: Don't you wish, and I wouldn't have to remove Charmed from all notification if they did use a different name. I hate to do that to a show I love, but I have to do it now, because I'll keep being reminded of Fake Charmed whenever I hear the name Charmed or see something online with news.
So glad you guys named it Elemental Charmed than Charmed.
--------------
PVILLE SAID: I'm with you guys in how witches are portrayed with powers as fantasy, not real. ES SAID *nods* Exactly so. PVILLE SAID: CARINA SAID: Now I feel like I'm taken back to 1998. I'm already liking it. ES: YAY! That's what we hoped it would do for fans. CARINA SAID: ES SAID: PVILLE SAID: I love this, and of course, it mentions 90210. ES SAID: CARINA SAID: I love the way this is written. CARINA SAID: YES!!! ES SAID: SOOOO glad that you agree! CARINA SAID: Yes!!! PVILLE SAID: I want the struggles between the sisters and their relationship. ES SAID: PVILLE SAID: CARINA SAID: Love you two. ES SAID: It definitely is. I always trusted it as far as I could throw the Manor! PVILLE SAID: Me either. ES SAID: PVILLE SAID: CARINA SAID: Oh, Holly. ES SAID: I so wish this is how they still are!
ES SAID: Me, too. I hope they decide to add them to a future edition of the DVDs - what a great bonus feature they would be!
PVILLE SAID: That would be really great, and also some deleted scenes too. Also The Women of Charmed 2000 television special and the one they did for the 100th episode, called Charmed: Behind the Magic in 2003.
CARINA SAID: Me too, and that is all we want right. And they always were like that. ES SAID: PVILLE SAID: Shannen isn't the wild child no more.
ES SAID: Nope - that's what this article is truly all about.
PVILLE SAID: And I'm so happy to read it.
PVILLE SAID: CARINA SAID: It sure would. ES SAID: PVILLE SAID: I love reading this, I've never seen these articles before, so nice to be reminded of where our show came from.
ES SAID: That's why we were all so happy when Pheebs decided to do these for CCDOW the way she did for EC. PVILLE SAID: I'm so glad she did, she is killing it with them, and I enjoy reading them. CARINA SAID: And love this Premise outline. ES SAID: Me, too. Again I'm sure it's based on the real ones. PVILLE SAID: I loved reading this based on the real ones. ES SAID: Me, too. PVILLE SAID: CARINA SAID: That she is, Shannen is fantastic.
PVILLE SAID: I'm more a fan of Holly and Alyssa's earlier work, and not the stuff they did after Charmed. I don't know why, I tried watching Pretty Little Liars for Holly, but her character just reminded me of Piper from S5-S8. I loved her on some of her television movies, and same with Alyssa on Mistresses.
ES SAID: That was 8 years after the show started. No, he had a TON of input! Kern was to Spelling what Shax was to the Source. PVILLE SAID: Thanks, I wasn't sure how much input he had, I thought he was just a producer, and left all the writing to Kern, but thank you for clearing that up for me, now I know. Because he passed away a month after Charmed ended, I was wondering if he didn't have much input in S7 or S8 when his health wasn't too good, which is what I was asking as well. CARINA SAID: Now, I get why it moved off Wednesday, being up against Party of Five, another sibling centric series. Smart call The WB.
ES SAID: That's thanks to Summer Reading doing that in her Charmed: ReImagined series. Both Saturday's group and Sunday's group liked the idea so much that we each did the same - but we each did it differently than hers or the other group. PVILLE SAID: I'm happy to hear you guys got inspired, and you all did it differently than hers or the other group. Now, three different takes exist now in stories. --------- CARINA SAID: Looks like so many have killed it at creating a really great Charmed pilot.
PVILLE SAID: Yes, way too early to wonder about that.
PVILLE SAID: -------------- CARINA SAID: That is cool, you had Prue not say I love you back, that fits well with continuity with From Fear to Eternity, what a cool way to make that a call-back. ES SAID: But it's NOT a call-back! Remember - we're back in 1998! And you wouldnn't know a THING about 'From Fear to Eternity' until it airs! Of course you HAVE seen it and know about it, but we had fun teasing it.
PVILLE SAID: That really does help, and lets you make sure you don't become Charmed with their inconsistencies. PVILLE SAID: Me too.
PVILLE SAID: I'm happy you did that, and not giving Prue a relationship in this first season, is so great, something you already know how I feel about, and now I'm more excited to read all of this, when I'm done with EC, and Carina too.
CARINA SAID: ES SAID: CARINA SAID: PVILLE SAID:I'm sure she did a nice eulogy.
ES SAID: I'll bet she had everyone crying - including the viewers, even if they've just met the Halliwells.
PVILLE SAID: Exactly.
CARINA SAID: I love that you included the funeral, and Piper gets to read her eulogy.
ES SAID: Other networks spent more money on their pilots....
PVILLE SAID: Your probably right. The only WB pilot I know they may have spent lots on was Smallville, due to special effects, and Buffy being a two-hour pilot when originally aired. But other than that, it comes down to The WB not being a big network like the others.
Do you have a favorite pilot for a show that isn't Charmed, that you have fond memories for, still to this day?
CARINA SAID: Love this, already knowing Darryl knew them when they were young, and he knows Grams. Yes, keep out of the moment Peyton. ES SAID: All part of making Darryl more like Andy and Peyton more like herself, not one of the other characters like either Darryl *or* Paige. CARINA SAID: I'm glad to hear it. ES SAID: PVILLE SAID: I'm glad, they sound like their characters. ES SAID: I'm glad you think so. PVILLE SAID: CARINA SAID: Perfect, to have her die here now, the second murder.
PVILLE SAID: That's very true.
CARINA SAID: That cat sure likes you. ES SAID: Yup. I wonder why... CARINA SAID: PVILLE SAID: Kit! ES SAID: Yup! We wanted to make her more of a familiar, but that didn't work out since she wasn't on the show. PVILLE SAID: Yeah, that they didn't' do. But she did sense evil a number of times in Season One and I always liked catching those moments on-screen. I wished they did more with familiars, or however they were done in mythology with witches. But, oh well.
ES SAID: YAY! I'm so glad! PVILLE SAID: CARINA SAID: I love this addition, perfect, and I really like her leaving this for them. ES SAID: CARINA SAID: PVILLE SAID: Me too. ES SAID: PVILLE SAID: CARINA SAID: And so proud of Grams for saying that it is their choice to do it or not.
She says at times, that being a Charmed One is who they are, yet goes back on that answer, time and time again.
ES SAID: Oh, I'd never live with a friend! I did that once and now we're no longer friends!
PVILLE SAID: I'm so sorry to hear your experience was bad.
PVILLE SAID: Don't you just hate when political crap gets in the way of friendship. I guess we'll never know for sure. I don't have those problems with political stuff getting in the way of friendship, I do have a friend who has a different view than me, but it never gets in the way of friendship, we simply agree to disagree, and just avoid each other during election week.
CARINA SAID: I'm not surprised Phoebe is excited over the others. ES SAID: Nope. She didn't really have a life she wanted changed right here while her sisters did. CARINA SAID: Yes. ES SAID: PVILLE SAID: CARINA SAID: What a great pilot episode. I really had fun with this, and picturing the story playing out in my head. ES SAID: YAY!!!! CARINA SAID: PVILLE SAID: I loved this pilot. ES SAID: I'm so glad! PVILLE SAID: And I actually went back and re-read it, so it really is so good, if I re-read it.
PVILLE SAID: That I will, and I've read more of EC earlier.
ES SAID: And I'm SOOO happy that i was able to finish this! PVILLE SAID: This was a good tease for CCDOW. ES SAID: PVILLE SAID:

We fans are the ones keeping Charmed alive, it seems (the original Charmed, I mean).

I've decided to give Carina , phoebeville and Deidre Warren a Thanksgiving present, just to thank you guys for being such fantastically wonderful reader/reviewers. Our rewrite of our most recent re-watched episode, 'That Old Black Magic' - one of my least-favorites of the S2 episodes (hate some in S3-8 more...) has become one of my favorite CCDOW episodes, especially how we used one of the episodes we skipped in S1 to make this one better. So I've decided to share it with you guys! I'll admit I've done a bit of editing just to hide some of our surprises, but it certainly should give you the idea. You'll notice that this is Episode 5 rather than Episode 6 - that's because we've shoved 'Morality Bites' closer to the end of the season - we've discovered that we like this season best when Leo isn't part of it, so that one won't be part of our CCDOW until he returns later in the season. Enjoy! We’re trying to keep all of our beginnings and endings sister-centric and so far we’ve succeeded!

Enjoy! CARINA: Oh, this is the best present ever. I'm so going to enjoy reading this. I especially love that Leo still isn't back yet, so I'll be interested to see what you guys did now. CARINA SAID: I love that Leo is still gone for months, not how Charmed did it. Already I'm liking the direction you took. No Love triangle, perfect. CARINA SAID: Poor Kit, I already picked up on what episode you might be adding to it. I look forward to this story. CARINA SAID: I really love how you had Tuatha released. Making the Chosen One also the one who has to release her, is so much better than how the original did it, adding Blair Witch rip offs.
I also love that you used Aviva than Kyle.
CARINA SAID: I remember poor Betty, one where an innocent dies, wonder if you'll kill her here. Jack, Prue's rebound guy. CARINA SAID: Reading this, reminds me how cool Tuatha is. CARINA SAID: I really love this, the sisters checking the book, not having Leo tell them what they need to know. How boring. I also love that she is a warlock who became one by killing an innocent. CARINA SAID: Now this is a good reason for the Chosen One to find the sisters and the wand finding her. CARINA SAID: I really love this, what a cool way to have Aviva and the wand find each other, and the sisters to find her. CARINA SAID: I liked this part, with them running out to convince her. It makes sense, she'd freak out and leave at first. T CARINA SAID: I love how Phoebe can relate to Aviva, also being the youngest. CARINA SAID: This was an important episode with the scrying spell. So much better than Leo using his powers to track people. I think I'm already enjoying this one so much more without Leo and the love triangle. CARINA SAID: Really love Phoebe doing this. CARINA SAID: I love this. Letting the other two go to the caves, and Prue can stay and help train Aviva. Perfect. CARINA SAID: I like this, and yes, she can mention she removed Prue's powers, and something they can figure out at home. CARINA SAID: I love Prue training Aviva here. So Prue as the leader of the Charmed Ones to do, not Leo. CARINA SAID: I love when they are thinking on their feet. CARINA SAID: I like this, with them helping her to come back. CARINA SAID: I love this, especially since it cuts out the annoying Leo/Piper bickering. CARINA SAID: WOW, talk about this being so much more fun. I loved Aviva being used here, she fits so much better than with Kali. CARINA SAID: And, I enjoyed Piper and Dan in this one, without Leo. Talk about how much more likable Piper is. CARINA SAID: This was a terrific ending. So sisterly centric, and so perfect. This episode was miles and miles better than the original, I was left enjoying it so much more.
ES: We’re trying to keep all of our beginnings and endings sister-centric and so far we’ve succeeded! CARINA SAID: I'm so glad you have succeeded Es and Team Charmed Cafe. I loveed the way you opened and ended this episode.
Keeping Leo out of it, has payed off, and is so much more fun to read without the love triangle parts. I also loved Tuatha and using Aviva.

A big improvement over the actual episode.
I like how you nicely mixed elements of The Fourth Sister in. Aviva is a much better character than that Dawson clone was.
And you dropped that stupid Blair Witch thing. Thank you

Enjoy! PVILLE: This was a big surprise, but I'm so thankful for it. This really is a nice treat for us. You sure surprised me, Es. I'll be still busy with one more be-late get together on Sunday. But, I'm wanting to read this one. I' glad you edited to hide some of your surprises. I'm very happy to see have decided to move 'Morality Bites' to the end of the season, so Leo is still gone. That really makes me happy. I'm going to read just a little bit of it now, and the rest next week when I'm less busy. EDIT: Changed my mind, I'll just comment on the differences I notice. PVILLE SAID: I like that you opened it this way, with the sisters. I'm also glad that Leo is gone for months, that is so much better. PVILLE SAID: That part is from Fourth Sister, interesting. Must be important. PVILLE SAID: I gotta say, I love this. PVILLE SAID: This is just brilliant, you gave Tuatha a much more creative way to be released, by the Chosen One, no less. So much better, and she has to gain her trust, and trick her into freeing her. PVILLE SAID: And how Prue gets the wand, dying to know how they figure it all out. PVILLE SAID: And you outdid yourself, just let the book tell them rather than Leo. I should have guessed that. PVILLE SAID: Best way to get her home, using the parts from Fourth Sister. Much better, than Leo telling them all. PVILLE SAID: I really loved how all of this played out. PVILLE SAID: I like that Phoebe can relate. This fits so well. I also love that you didn't rip off use Kyle, who reminded me from the guy from Dawnson Creek. Aviva fits so much better, and it lets the story stay female centric, not male centric using Kyle and Leo. PVILLE SAID: I love them training Aviva than Leo. I'm really enjoying this rewrite up to this point. PVILLE SAID: And I liked this part, Prue can help train Aviva, and the others who Tuatha hasn't seen go. Perfect. PVILLE SAID: I really like Prue helping her. PVILLE SAID: We'll I'll hope she comes back. PVILLE SAID: A nice way to use those characters so she can go home, and he'll be able to drive her back Dan, so that works. PVILLE SAID: I had so much fun, talk about how making it Aviva payed off. PVILLE SAID: I love that Phoebe said that to her. PVILLE SAID: It not being about Leo with their conversation makes me smile.
ES SAID: We’re trying to keep all of our beginnings and endings sister-centric and so far we’ve succeeded! PVILLE SAID: I loved this ending. It was perfect. Gotta say, this episode really was so much fun to read. I'm so thankful for you sharing it. It was an episode I wasn't that fond of, now it has turned into one I love. You guys really have something special here.

A big improvement over the actual episode.
I like how you nicely mixed elements of The Fourth Sister in. Aviva is a much better character than that Dawson clone was.
And you dropped that stupid Blair Witch thing. Thank you I just finished reading and commenting on it, and I so agree. Yeah, Kyle reminded me of the guy from Dawsons Creek. So you managed to remove the parts I hated, kept Leo out of the episode, so Piper is miles more likeable, and found a creative way to mix in elements from Fourth Sister. I also liked the sisters training Aviva, not Leo. Having the Chosen One also needing to be the one to free Tuatha from the mirror, was even better.
