As someone who is watching the reboot, it has gotten better this season. Many of the things that fans complained about last season,(the rushed storylines, too many characters and plot lines) have been eliminated. In fact, aside from the sisters and Harry (their white lighter), all the other characters have been jettisoned and the sisters relocated to a new city, Seattle.
And yes, they have been stripped of their powers, so now they have to sweat to get the job done.
The Elders, who were even more dicks than those of the original series, have been wiped out (and i didn't shed a tear about that).
Harry, their white lighter, is treated by the sisters like a friend, not like a personal slave, like Leo was.
I invite you ladies to tune in to the current season and have a look.

And you think you're both a Classic Charmed fan and a rip-off fan when every time you discuss them, you always make the rip-off seem better than the classic.
Not my idea of a fan.
And you always compare it with latter Classic Charmed, which most fans don't like, and never with early Classic Charmed, which fans do like. If you were truly a classic fan, you'd compare it with the early seasons, not the latter ones.
But you're not.

The thing with using the Charmed name that is annoying, is social media (like Carina said in a thread once) and searching for Charmed related things. The hashtags will keep putting the two shows together, this means fans of one or the other, have to keep seeing the other.
I can see why Sabrina and Chilling Adventures of Sabrina got lucky.
I'm not one who likes it when the same name is repeated for a reboot. Part of why Star Trek goes by a different name each time.
It must be annoying, when you want to find news for Classic Charmed, and instead it is the reboot. The same way, fans of just the reboot, must be annoyed to find news on the original series.

With all due respect, Esmeralda, whether I'm a Classic Charmed fan or not isn't your call to make.
In your opinion, I'm not a fan, but that's what it is, an opinion, not fact.
And, if I may ask, have you watched any episodes of the reboot?
I wonder if Magnum P.I., MacGyver, Hawaii Five-O, and Dynasty fans feel the same way. All the reboots of those shows use the same name as the originals. BTW: I like the new Magnum, but still count myself a fan of the original.
What news on Classic Charmed? It's been over for 13 years now. The only news I could imagine is what the actors are currently up to. Of course, the reboot is gonna get most of the news, because it's a current show, not because it's better or worse than the original.
And, let's face it, ladies, the odds of a continuation of Classic Charmed is slim to none, despite what Alyssa and Holly may say. Reasons: 1. Neither own the rights to Charmed, CBS does, so any decision would lie with them.
2. Half the Classic cast hate the other half. I would be hard to get them all in the same room together, let alone working on a series. If CBS had any faith in the idea of a continuation, I believe that they would have never greenlit the reboot in the first place.
Should they have called the reboot something else? Maybe. But they didn't.

Yes, the hashtag on social media, that is the biggest problem. I know people who make graphics on Tumblr for Classic Charmed, and people looking to find something or graphic or image of Charmed, or just on Instagram or twitter, end up having to scroll and look at fans of the reboot who have used the hashtag for Charmed, the same for fans of the reboot only. Yeah, I can only imagine how annoying that might be. Had the reboot not taken the original name, then both fans of either, will be a able to look and scroll through hashtags easier. I do look every so often on the reboot and read about the show. But, I only watched the first half of Season 1 and gave up, seeing just how bad it was, gave up. But, if I hear the show is actually doing better, well I'm so happy for those who do watch it. Maybe they did learn from the mistakes of Season 1.

Perhaps tying "Classic Charmed" or "Reboot Charmed" might help.
Seems the new show runners listened to the fans that complained about the problems of the first season and took steps to address them.

Perhaps tying "Classic Charmed" or "Reboot Charmed" might help. Nope, not unless the people making those posts, hashtag using Classic Charmed or Reboot Charmed. And anybody who does a post on social media for the reboot, will always use the #Charmed hashtag, so you can't get around it. Social Media lets you mute words on your account I believe, but if one wants to mute Classic Charmed or Reboot Charmed, bit impossible, if both are using the same #Charmed hashtag. Sadly, you can't force everyone to use different hashtags, part of the reason why I get why people like a reboot to go by a different name. But sadly, nothing we can do. It looks that way. Hopefully, the loyal fans who stayed with the show will remain. As long as it doesn't lose any more viewers. I heard the ratings are pretty stable, not big numbers, but decent for Fridays. I'm sure it rates much higher in DVR ratings, since so many will not be home Friday Nights, and watch later. So those online + DVR ratings will let it rise a little.

I was checking the DVR and Live + 7 Day ratings: It won't let me copy and paste correctly, and jumbles the whole thing together with no spacing, so I'll just let the CW shows. Charmed gains in DVR, so I actually think the show might last at least until Season Three or Four, if it remains stable. As for it outlasting Classic Charmed, I'll bet my bottom dollar, it will not last for eight seasons. But, I won't be surprised if it lasts no more than four seasons.

Many fans, me included, feel that Classic Charmed ran a few seasons longer than it should have.
So the reboot calling it a day after four seasons would be fine by me.

Not surprised it is doing very well in DVR and those online ratings. Most people under 30 don't watch much television on Friday nights and are out. so I can see why they have less of a following with live ratings, and more with online and DVR.

The mid-season finale aired yesterday evening.
Light years better than the one a year ago, IMO.

I have heard about it, since my cousin's younger sister watches it, and visited us recently, and that's all she talked about, so I learned what they did. Apparently, their younger sister Maggie has actually not done what Phoebe did in Sleuthing With the Enemy that turned her into the sister most fans hated. But, she mentioned, that she still thinks they could do more with the sisters, and less on their romantic plots.
I do hope their Cole doesn't stick around and dies.

While this may not be too popular at the Charmed Cafe, enough people tuned in to guarantee a third season.
The CW just announced it has renewed all its shows.

Looks like the reboot is going to meet its standard CW quota of about four seasons. The CW hasn't really canceled any shows in a number of years.
I think at least four seasons are expected for the reboot. I'm only judging by other CBS productions on The CW, which all seemed to cap after about four or five seasons.

And I'm still 99.9% positive that if it wasn't called "Charmed" it wouldn't have lasted past the first 10 episodes. The fact that they've totally changed it shows that even they know that.

As I said, four seasons will be fine with me. Give the writers time to come up with a decent ending for the story.

That sounds like plenty, I don't think the reboot has enough material to go that much longer than four, with how they handled Season 1.

The original series could have called it quits once Season Four ended (and no doubt many wished it had, considering what a mess the later seasons were).
If the reboot ends with four seasons, that's fine. They will have enough episodes for syndication and such.

Yeah, they'll have enough for syndication by then, so I really do expect the reboot to be finished after four seasons tops.
I continue to see articles and former Charmed stars saying they'd be game for a revival. With Julian being the next one recently, and Rose has so much lately on social media. But I truly don't buy into it. It is one thing to say they'll be up for it, and it is another actually doing it. But who knows, what will happen once the reboot is done with.
But, I'm not too sure, I actually don't think Shannen will do it, she seems to have gone back to distancing herself from all things Charmed through her social media. And it looks like she may not be that friendly with Rose, she no longer follows her on social media now, she did in the past, and they have commented much time. But Shannen's political views don't match up with Rose's. She really did not like her latest opinions on Iran, she even liked a tweet that blasted Rose for it. I think she is a conservative Republican, but she is very quiet about her views publically.
I don't see a Charmed revival happening, not as long as the reboot is happening. But, in the last year, all I hear and read are articles with the original cast wanting to do one.
I'll be honest, I don't want one, not unless, they ignore everything that the flashforwards did. I just don't see them being able to repair it, and or I'm expecting to be disappointed.
Personally, I'm happy with reading Fanfictions, which is more fun.
I'll be curious though if any former Charmed stars end up on the reboot (Not the four leads, but other co-stars or recurring stars)

I don't see a revival anytime soon. I didn't know that about Shannen, but unlike her other co-stars, she talks very little about political stuff, if at all.
I really don't want it to come back. I don't want to hate Charmed anymore than I did when it ended. Best to just let it die, but continue to live on in Fanfics which fans do amazingly.
Also, you guys at the Cafe, are having so much fun with CCDOW, and the re-watches, who needs the original to return.

Julian has a new show, called FBI Most Wanted. Alyssa is busy on Netflix, and Rose has retired from acting (she wants to produce and direct, where talent, not looks, matter).
Given that, and the fact that the reboot has been renewed for another season, a reunion is very unlikely.
Let Classic Charmed be remembered for the show it was and live on in Fan Fiction like CCDOW.

While celebrating Team Charmed Cafe's 18th Month-Day, another member, Katie, and I had a discussion in the Cafe's shoutbox regarding the rip-off. I decided to share it here:

I know who Katie is, Esmeralda, she's a member of Glued To The Screen
And I pretty much agree with what is being said here. I'm still watching, but I don't have the emotional investment in these characters (except maybe Harry) that I with the original sisters at this point (Season Two).
I went into this reboot with high hopes. Sadly, those hopes have been dashed, as I watched this show spin its wheels for most of Season Two. While the season got off to a great start, however, it all came to a halt when Parker came back (Katie can tell you about him).
Also, they kept splitting the sisters up, robbing us of the sister moments that made the first few seasons of Classic Charmed so great. A common complaint is that they jumped right over Connie and went straight to Kernus. Why they focused on en era that made the original show less appealing, well, you got me.
As this season wound down, I found that watching was a chore, not an enjoyment. And what that happens, it's time to bail out. Had the CW cancelled it, I really wouldn't care one way or another.
File this under Another Missed Opportunity.

You might know who Katie is, Tim, but Carina and PVille don't and they're the ones who I was thinking of when I posted this, since I was sure they'd agree with me. The world does NOT revolve around you, Tim, and neither does this site. And you wonder why I keep comparing you with Trump...he also thinks the world revolves around him.

And I was supposed to just know this? I'm not a mind reader, Esmeralda. Perhaps you should have stuck their names at the top, like you've done here before (see you didn't mention Deidre, guess you're starting to give up on the notion that she's gonna come back).
And exactly where did I say it did? Come on, Esmeralda, you tell me where I said any such thing.
All I said was that I knew who Katie was. That's all, no ulterior motive here, Esmeralda. Stop looking for conspiracies where none exist.
