Here is the message I received from Deidre:
I'm so sorry to hear that another member at another Charmed forum is very sick. I hope she isn't going through a similar experience as my family had last year, and will pray for her.
So sorry I haven't said a word for a long time to the Charmed Heritage community. I've been going through a lot in the past year. That I haven't gone much online apart from emails. But I did get an email alert for this.
You got me at a good time. Had this email found me last year, I might not have responded at all. Wasn't a good time. But since I'm in a better place to open up about it, I'll share what had happened with me in the last year.
Last year my sister and brother-in-law both sadly passed away due to Covid-19. It was a very difficult time for me and my family, especially during a pandemic and social distancing making it difficult to rely on support. I had to say goodbye to my sister and brother-in-law over the phone as couldn't be with her when she passed.
I'm also now the legal guardian of my two nieces (aged 11 and 14), and they are now living with me full-time now as I help raise them. That was a big decision for me to make, especially for me being someone who has no children of their own. But, I love my nieces and will do anything for them.
So I've been busy with getting them settled in for nearly a year, helping them cope with the passing of their parents, and letting myself time to grieve.
Right now, we are in a much better place than we were last year (and have a good routine) That I do hope to return to the Heritage board one time, I just have to put my nieces first.
I actually have used my real-life experiences to play a little with a fan-fic screenplay for Charmed, setting up the story where Patty's sister (I went back and forth using Grams or Patty's favorite aunt Phoebe, back and forth even having BOTH Patty and Victor killed at the same time and back and forth her playing Paige as Patty's half-sister where the sisters are raised by Victor.) is left to raise Prue, Piper, and Phoebe. Patty's sister would serve in the Leo role (whitelighters do not exist in my story, but would possibly be killed by the Demon of Fear in a future story, as one of the witches on the list. I also had a big twist planned for their first warlock the Charmed One's face who would be a complete shock as it's an original character, not from canon, but important enough to tie into the history of the series.
I just never got it done since real life got in the way and my nieces are now priority number one. So I had to pause it. It was a MASSIVE help with my grieving.
Maybe one day, I'll finish off the first in a possible trilogy I wanted to do. However if the Charmed: Heritage members are interested, I'd happily share with them what I have so far. Just no guarantees I'll respond or have time just yet to comment on their reactions.
Please pass this onto the board so Es, Tim, Carina, and PVille can see it. I hope all are healthy and well.
Deirdre
