Carina PHEEBS: Hi Carina, I've heard from Es, that you have been reading EC. Since, I wrote the Deadline Articles, and have been part of Team Charmed Cafe with Elemental Charmed. I thought, I'd post here, so I could read your comments, which made me smile. Truly appreciate it. I hope you enjoy the rest of Season One. I'll let you know, I'm currently busy right now. That If I don't reply to you so quickly, just know, I'm reading and enjoying your comments. But, I'll reply when I have time.
CARINA SAID: What 6 things do I need to know indeed. PHEEBS: CARINA SAID: I really like that idea, and glad Connie here trashed that idea for what she did instead. And I agree, this really does let the fans who grew up with it, watch with their own children, or Baby Boomers with their daughters and granddaughters. PHEEBS: We wanted our series to target all those generations, and unlike the rip-off wanting to target a new generation who may not have seen the original. CARINA SAID: I like this. Yes, that is what a fantasy series wants to do, let you forget real life for an hour a week. I can see how the political stuff would annoy people like the reboot did I heard in articles. I can see why the original has a big reception overseas, unlike the reboot. Most international fans, don't want to hear about trump and the MeToo., when it doesn't affect them. If that makes sense. PHEEBS: I never thought about that Carina, but you may be right. I do know Classic Charmed had a huge following overseas, not sure how the rip-off is. CARINA SAID: She's not wrong, she would be killed off straight away or soon, that is a typical The CW trend, when it comes to adult characters. PHEEBS: That she would. CARINA SAID: This is so nice for representation for different generations. Maybe the different generations watching here would learn something about different generations views on life. PHEEBS: I sure hope so. CARINA SAID: I couldn't agree more. Well written. PHEEBS: CARINA SAID: Not me, I'd watch. PHEEBS: YAY! CARINA SAID: I do love their jobs, what a good collection you have here. This is perfect. PHEEBS: We had so much fun coming up with these, and glad you liked them. CARINA SAID: Very exciting. TBC3 you sound like fun. PHEEBS: CARINA SAID: YAY! PHEEBS: CARINA SAID: I like the sound of this. PHEEBS:
CARINA SAID: I like this ongoing mystery, I'd looking forward to finding out about it. PHEEBS: And I hope you like what we did with it. CARINA SAID: Reading the critic review of this, I'm familiar with this pilot. But, I just had to mention, this title is fantastic. I love House of the Rising Warrens. Too perfect! Summer Reading wrote a good pilot. PHEEBS: She knocked it out of the park, and glad you loved our pilot, and the title is perfect isn't it. CARINA SAID: Well earned ratings. PHEEBS: CARINA SAID: I love this interview. This is fantastic, thanks Connie, for hiring Paul, that is a very fun novel, and I love that it was the inspiration behind Elementals Witches. I think that is so much fun. Love hearing the thought process on creating EC, and yes, I'm in this universe now, enjoying it. PHEEBS: Thank-you, I'm glad you liked it. CARINA SAID: And I agree, yes, you do want to be different, and you payed off. I agree, five sisters is overkill, I think the set-up here was better. 7th Heaven, yes a show on the WB that is good to be reminded of. So glad the network was supportive. PHEEBS: CARINA SAID: And the writing team is perfect, and I giggle with you mentioning the word inconsistency, and glad Connie will make sure that doesn't happen here. PHEEBS: Connie sure would want to learn from the mistakes from Classic Charmed. CARINA SAID: She has the right to be nervous. But yes, she can be happy here, that the show paid off. I really am loving these Deadline articles more and more. PHEEBS: Thank you, I had so much fun doing them, and adapting them from the rip-off to make them sound more EC. CARINA SAID: And glad they accept it, and I'll hope they do guest star. PHEEBS: You'll have to wait and see. CARINA SAID: I agree, don't want to have too many, but nods are okay. PHEEBS: Exactly!
CARINA SAID: Love that they put aside their differences in order to honor the original. In this universe they have. Just upset they couldn't in the real world, and more sad, that Shannen or Rose didn't agree to play the role of the brain dead sister on Grey's. Oh, well. PHEEBS: We had so much fun doing it. I don't think either would have joined, I believe they were likely both busy with other things. I know Rose had some tour with something she is doing for MeToo or I can't remember what it was, and Shannen had two shows she did over the summer. CARINA SAID: Very nicely done EC. Well earned, and beating Supergirl. PHEEBS: CARINA SAID: I like this second episode. Es, you wrote this one, how cool. It is nice that we have an episode with them settling in, and getting used to be the Elemental Witches. I also love that we have some humor in this series, ‘Piper’s Brew’, but Piper doesn't think it is funny. PHEEBS: I'm glad you liked it, that was all Es. CARINA SAID: Keep rising EC. PHEEBS: YES! CARINA SAID:I love this article, with Halloween. Nice to see Halloween done on EC. I liked hearing about the stars and what Halloween mean to them. Prudence is too late to stop Phoebe, when she accidentally reads the inscription on the ancient vase, releasing an ancient curse. Oh now, what will this mean. Great preview getting me excited to read the episode. PHEEBS: I'm glad this teaser kept you excited for the episode.

Hey, welcome to Charmed Heritage, Pheebs
Nice to meet another author of EC. I already know Summer, and I'm a fan of her Charmed ReImagined series.
The EC was a true labour of love for all of you. I see you all had a ball writing it.

Elemental Charmed Created by Constance M. Burge ES SAID: And Sasha, who wrote this part (when there's two names, usually the first one wrote the episode and then the second one edited it before I did my edit.), will make sure they do! CARINA SAID: Whole reading your comments, I wanted to post this here at the top to remind myself this with the two names, the first one wrote it, and the second one edited it before you did, so I remember who to thank. ES SAID: First I apologize for not replying on these this morning - I overslept. Next I'm glad this helped straighten you out. You can thank the ones who edited, too - in a lot of cases they made the episodes a lot better. Me, when I did my thing, it was more proofreading and making it read smoother than actual editing. But everyone called me their editor so I do the same since it's something I enjoy doing. CARINA SAID: This is fantastic, I love getting into the mind of our writing staff. ES SAID: I *SO* wish this was real - it would be SUCH fun getting to know these things about the real writers. CARINA SAID: Love heating how they were hired, and yes, you can't have Chris without Zack. They were a great pair writing scripts, some of their episodes I love like Morality Bites, P3 H20, Chick Flick and Pre-Witched to name a few. ES SAID: Yup, they're my favorite writers after Sheryl J. Anderson. I was just glad that the rest of Team Charmed Café also loved the way they wrote the sisters and wanted them to be part of Elemental Charmed. CARINA SAID: Great work guys, I think the title is perfect and a nice nod to Charmed. Why not. ES: SAID: And I hear the rip-off might do something similar right after they got rid of just about everything that made Charmed Charmed. At least it sounds like they're keeping their episodes more about the sisters and less about their costars. CARINA SAID: And I'm so proud that you did, this was such a good treat, and I love how Salem isn't going the cliche witch trials direction. So good stuff. I really wished they did the same with San Francisco. But love our writers learning to let Salem be as much as a character in EC as the sisters. I'm going to have fun seeing what culture from Salem you do next. ES SAID: SO glad you think so! CARINA SAID: I'm loving this interview, and getting a real kick out of it. I love these, and yes, Warlocks being more major is perfect. I wished Charmed did so, because they are right, Warlocks are the counterpart of witches that demons can't, and demons feel more Supernatural or Buffy, that it feels like the direction the show took from S3, was making Charmed too much into those shows, and less their own, like they did in S1 and S2. ES SAID: Once Buffy jumped ship to The UPN, I'm sure The WB wanted Charmed to take its place so they tried to make it more like Buffy - a HORRIBLE mistake in my eyes. CARINA SAID: That makes so much sense to make it female-centric given the Year of Woman. I'm glad those ladies keep Zack and Paul on track. ES SAID: Hehehehe, like I've had to. Some of our newer writers who weren't part of our original discussion tried to add male costars, but I quickly changed them. Some of those writers weren't happy and left the project, but keeping it female-centric and always starring the Warrens was VERY important to the original Team Charmed Café. CARINA SAID: Love the humor here, and really love that Connie laughs that she'd drop doing, if they insisted. But it's true, the level of danger and threat goes away with healing injuries and orbing. But, I love how Paul still likes what Charmed did and his fun with the comics and books, but that he agrees that it doesn't fit for EC. I've read a review for that reboot, (still not watching a second of it) but they appear to have dropped whitelighters and Elders, all of them are dead but the last whitelighter in theirs, and saying that they may have rebooted the reboot and the characters from the first season are all gone apart from the sisters and their whitelighter. I'm not sure, I hope for those that watch, the show is going in a better direction. But, I don't think I'll watch, I'll keep reading reviews online. ES SAID: Well, I'm glad they admitted that had the thing not be called "Charmed" it never would've survived its first season and that the whole thing was a major screw-up and needed rebooting. Still don't plan on watching it - just not my thing - but happy that the fans COULD get a better show - one so unlike Classic Charmed that they really SHOULD change the title. CARINA SAID: And it was the perfect arc, I loved it so very much. It was perfectly written and planned, and I couldn't have asked for anything better. I hope we get to see the missing years before they returned to Salem after Victor's death. Here's hoping we get a famous time travel episode for that. ES SAID: Hmmm, funny, I can't remember if we do or if we don't. You'll have to keep reading to find out. I know they do for the Christmas episode which you've already read, I see. Just not sure about others. CARINA SAID: I love it, yes more teases with Paige. And I love that already plans for great stories to come. Well done. ES SAID: CARINA SAID: Go EC! ES SAID: Well, in our universe, of COURSE it's going to do well! Hehehehe! CARINA SAID: WOW! This is so cool. I love it so very much, and it is perfect. ES SAID: I'm not sure if this is actually based on something the rip-off did or it's just part of Pheebs' wonderful imagination. Now that she's a member of Charmed Heritage, maybe she'll let us know. CARINA SAID: Very cool, and can't wait for the second half of Season 1. ES SAID: CARINA SAID: And I love that we get another episode exploring Salem culture, with the Salem Comedy & Spirits Festival, and what are the townsfolk doing, this tease got me excited. ES SAID: Pheebs will be SO happy that you wrote that, I'm sure! CARINA SAID: OMG! How cool! ES SAID: I totally LOVED when TNT did that while Charmed was on - I have all of the marathons on VHS which I had transferred to DVDs. That's how I watch the S4-8 episodes that I like, since until recently, I only had S1-3 - the only ones I've ever paid money for. Would NEVER pay money for S4-8. So when I told Team Charmed Café about it, they loved the idea of doing it for both Charmed and Elemental Charmed. CARINA SAID: Great choice of episodes. ES SAID: Glad you think so! CARINA SAID: This is exciting, and WOW ultra cool. Time travel night, with great behind the scenes specials at the end. Yes please! ES SAID: It's my favorite of the marathons, even if I skip a few during my own marathons. Of course I wish that last one was part of it, but it's not. CARINA SAID: PaleyFest. I'm sure our stars will have fun with Connie talking about the show. ES SAID: Of course! And I love how much you write this as if you're an actual fan reading these press releases! CARINA SAID: And I'm sure it was a huge hit. ES SAID: Of course! CARINA SAID: Yes, Prudence and Phoebe together, very nice. This old lady reminds me of my grandma with her card games and stories. I don't trust Kathy Baker, Paige better be careful. I hope Margaret Baker isn't bad too, and lying about being kind. ES SAID: You'll just have to keep reading... CARINA SAID: Oh no, please don't hurt the kind Margaret Baker. I see Patience has a friend who knows her secret, that makes sense, and good for her to have. ES SAID: Yes, we like the idea of her having a friend on the force who can let her know when there's a "witchy" aspect to a crime scene. She's the opposite of Andy and Darryl on purpose! CARINA SAID: Plot twist, they are just warlocks looking for someone, very smart warlocks. And love how they are going undercover though. ES SAID: CARINA SAID: I'm sure they do, but a very fun episode. I liked it Summer Reading. ES SAID: I'm sure Summer will be glad you do. CARNA SAID: Sounds exciting. ES SAID: CARNA SAID: I love a non-magical bad guy. This looks like fun. And love Phoebe's plot with Piper sick, good like a funny side-plot. ES SAID: Yup! CARNA SAID: I love the backstory from the writers, this is so fun, and I love how many twists they have. ES SAID: If this was real, I'll bet they'd have a LOT of fun in the writer's room - much more than they did when Kern was in charge. ]CARNA SAID: I so wish I could watch these teases, but it sets up a great episode ahead of us. Can't wait. Makes me wonder what teases Charmed would have and what two clips they have selected back in the day. ES SAID: OOOOO! That would make for a VERY interesting thread! CARINA SAID: I love the tagline. Patience, NO, don't do it. I hope Prudence can help her. ES SAID: CARINA SAID: What a fun side story, reminds me of Charmed where Piper went rock-climbing with Josh, leaving Phoebe behind, but I love this one too, since Piper is sick. ES SAID: Yup, That's what inspired this part of the episode. CARINA SAID: What a crazy episode, so many twists. ES SAID: Hehehehe! And somehow they all fit together... CARINA SAID: And I love that we had non-magical bad guys. They are fun stories, and I wished Charmed did these more often. ES SAID: You and me both. We really didn't get a lot of non-magical bad guys. CARNA SAID: Great choice for a director to return. My mother loved Happy Days. I'm assuming the real reboot got a director from another show, but I doubt it was from Charmed. So hiring Ason Williams, was so much better, and made me smile. ES SAID: I loved Happy Days, too, until it literally jumped the shark and made that a common saying. But Anson did a fantastic job with All Halliwell's Eve, so I'm sure the same would be true for Elemental Charmed. CARNA SAID: I'm sure, Sheryl and Anson would love to do both directing and writing again, like they did with the famous and one I love All Halliwell’s Eve. ES SAID: Me, too. My friend and I re-watch that episode every Halloween! CARNA SAID: Great job Anson, I'm sure you had fun. Can't wait for the episode on April 14, dying to know which one was directed. ES SAID: Hehehehe - you'll have to wait and find out!

CARINA SAID: NO, Piper. That is what I call a edge of your seat moment. Good job. CARINA SAID: And yet again more Salem culture explored, and Andrea has come to visit. I like this one. But now I'm worried about that warning. CARINA SAID: Poor Andrea, this is scary. CARINA SAID: This is a fun episode, I really liked it. So much action and drama both in the present and the past.

I liked hearing the backstory on how this series came to be with the process. ES SAID: Well, it all started with this: If you were in charge of rebooting Charmed, (and you wouldn't be doing it in the way one coming out later this year is doing. You'd be told you have to give this series a new title and it wasn't allowed to use the Charmed label). A demand from the network/CBS is you have to come up with a story inspired by Charmed, that focuses on a set of sisters who happened to be witches. What would be your ideal story? Well, that thread very simply took off as members had fun throwing ideas into the pot. After a while, one specific idea, featuring a witch named Prudence who has the Elemental power of Spirit, her older daughter named Patience who has the Elemental power of Earth, her younger daughter Paige who has the Elemental power of Air, her older granddaughter, Piper, who has the Elemental power of Water and her younger granddaughter Phoebe, who has the Elemental power of Fire, join together to make up the Elemental Witches, ended up hijacking the thread, as we used 57 pages to brainstorm ideas as more and more members joined Team Charmed Café. That all led to what you're reading as "Elemental Charmed". CARINA SAID: Love the title, the Petro family are up to no good. ES SAID: Yup, they are. CARINA SAID: I love that Prudence was, so nice to have so much backstory on ours stars, and love how well you are doing their daily lives like Charmed did in the earlier seasons, especially the balance in S1. ES SAID: We truly enjoyed that during our re-watch of S1 - it's quickly becoming all of our favorite season, although that could change as we start our S2 re-watch this weekend. It's why we wanted to be sure to do it during S1 of Elemental Charmed, although their workplaces won't be forgotten in the rest of the series. CARINA SAID: Good job guys working together, but now I'm dying to know who they made a deal with. ES SAID: Hehehehe! (By the way, I spell my laugh that way because people have told me that that's what it sounds like.) CARINA SAID: Demoness of Wealth, very fun. So creative, I love it. Go get her Warrens. ES SAID: That was one of my edits, as Marlene made her a demon. We were determined to only have Demonesses of to keep our series female-centric. CARINA SAID: YAY Anson. I loved that they have fond memories, and the episode went well. ES SAID: CARINA SAID: And this is so true, I'd imagine they would take the week off. ES SAID: Yup. I really think we should've switched it to a different day, but we didn't want to make it have too many changes that could confuse viewers. CARINA SAID: And naturally, the preview got me excited waiting for the next one. Can't wait. ES SAID: That will make Pheebs SO happy! CARINA SAID: And the real tease, has too. I am on the edge of my sear, what is going to happen. ES SAID: Again that will make Pheebs SO happy! CARINA SAID: Love the title again. A Phoebe centric one, at her school. Bad Dean for standing her up. ES SAID: Yup! CARINA SAID: I take my comment, poor Dean. So sad. ES SAID: Again, yup! CARINA SAID: ES SAID: CARINA SAID: What a scary power. ES SAID: Yup, that it is. CARINA SAID: NO, Piper. That is what I call a edge of your seat moment. Good job. ES SAID: Yes, it most definitely is! I was when I first read it. And again, the absolute fun of only doing press releases - we don't have to figure out how they got out of it! CARINA SAID: And yet again more Salem culture explored, and Andrea has come to visit. I like this one. But now I'm worried about that warning. "v ES SAID: We like to keep our "viewers" worried - it means they care for our characters. CARINA SAID: Poor Andrea, this is scary. ES SAID: Definitely! Part of why we had her visit and why we did it on Founders' Day, so she would. CARINA SAID: This is a fun episode, I really liked it. So much action and drama both in the present and the past. ES SAID: And the start of our first story arc, which is a time-travel one, since we loved those Charmed episodes so much. Hope you like it!

Well, thank you Granny Charmed for starting this thread, that kicked off this amazing project, and now, allowed me to read it right now. I love how this took off. What a fun backstory. CARINA SAID: These sound fantastic. CARINA SAID: I love Novelizations. I'd read this one. CARINA SAID: This one looks like fun.
CARINA SAID: I'm so in love with A Smart Spell and A Banshee...Are We Reading a Charmed Novel?”. I love it. CARINA SAID: I love this, my Elemental Witches are back for a second season. Moving to CBS-TV, the opposite of that show Supergirl. CARINA SAID: And I'm sure this move would be easy, being the same partners. CARINA SAID: And this makes sense, it will fit at home at CBS-TV. CARINA SAID: I sure wouldn't want that. Thank god for the move. I don't want my Elementals split up. CARINA SAID: Don't change TBC1, I love the sound of you. Your right, they sure would have. CARINA SAID: Well said, TBC1.
CARINA SAID: I can't wait for the second season Connie. This sounds fun. CARINA SAID: YAY, Shannen and Alyssa. Although I already got that tease from you Es. But loved reading this. CARINA SAID: And this sounds so much like something Shannen would say. CARINA SAID: And this is so Alyssa. I agree it would be like a high school reunion, have fun with Shannen.
CARINA SAID: I agree, you don't want to overcrowd it with guest stars from the original.

I'm really enjoying it. Back for more now. I'll keep that in mind, you might be busy and not able to reply to my comments, but I can't wait when you can. Going to read over the comments you and Es did to me, and then start the next round of reading and reviewing. PHEEBS SAID: I can't wait to see what you did this morning with your comments. Elemental Charmed. This looks interesting. This board came up when I was searching for Fan Fictions and how I found this site. Looks like it has activity. PHEEBS SAID: Welcome to the board, I'd love to know what you think of Elemental Charmed. Whenever you decide to start an account, no pressure. I see you wanted to set one up, but Proboards was having another annoying problem, (can relate, had that happen to me a few times).

ES SAID: And Sasha, who wrote this part (when there's two names, usually the first one wrote the episode and then the second one edited it before I did my edit.), will make sure they do! CARINA SAID: That's alright. Thanks and I'm glad you had fun working as the editor. PHEEBS SAID: That it did. Thanks Es, for sharing this for Carina. Where it all began for us. CARINA SAID: Love the title, the Petro family are up to no good. ES SAID: Yup, they are. PHEEBS SAID: CARINA SAID: I love that Prudence was, so nice to have so much backstory on ours stars, and love how well you are doing their daily lives like Charmed did in the earlier seasons, especially the balance in S1. PHEEBS SAID: I agree with Es, and like she said, their workplaces won't be forgotten in the rest of the series. Most of our writers came up with some pretty cool plots that incorporated their workplaces. And we truly did enjoy that during our re-watch of S1, We'll have to see how we feel when we start S2 this weekend. I know most are going to miss Andy, Quake and the wonderful music score that doesn't return during season 2. But, I'm interested to see how we feel about S2. CARINA SAID: Good job guys working together, but now I'm dying to know who they made a deal with. ES SAID: Hehehehe! (By the way, I spell my laugh that way because people have told me that that's what it sounds like.) PHEEBS SAID: That's very interesting that your laugh is actually that Es. I always thought it was just another word you used than using LOL or I've seen that used online for Gifs and Giphys on social media. But so cool, to know someone who actually laughs like that. CARINA SAID: Demoness of Wealth, very fun. So creative, I love it. Go get her Warrens. ES SAID: That was one of my edits, as Marlene made her a demon. We were determined to only have Demonesses of to keep our series female-centric. PHEEBS: Exactly! CARINA SAID: YAY Anson. I loved that they have fond memories, and the episode went well. ES SAID: PHEEBS SAID: CARINA SAID: And this is so true, I'd imagine they would take the week off. ES SAID: Yup. I really think we should've switched it to a different day, but we didn't want to make it have too many changes that could confuse viewers. PHEEBS SAID: That's true that. CARINA SAID: And naturally, the preview got me excited waiting for the next one. Can't wait. ES SAID: That will make Pheebs SO happy! PHEEBS SAID: That it did. So glad you enjoy these so much. CARINA SAID: And the real tease, has too. I am on the edge of my sear, what is going to happen. ES SAID: Again that will make Pheebs SO happy! PHEEBS SAID: That it did again. CARINA SAID: Love the title again. A Phoebe centric one, at her school. Bad Dean for standing her up. ES SAID: Yup! PHEEBS SAID: CARINA SAID: I take my comment, poor Dean. So sad. ES SAID: Again, yup! PHEEBS SAID: CARINA SAID: ES SAID: PHEEBS SAID: CARINA SAID: What a scary power. ES SAID: Yup, that it is. PHEEBS SAID: It really is. CARINA SAID: NO, Piper. That is what I call a edge of your seat moment. Good job. ES SAID: Yes, it most definitely is! I was when I first read it. And again, the absolute fun of only doing press releases - we don't have to figure out how they got out of it! PHEEBS SAID: Exactly, the fun way of doing it this way, we don't have to figure that out. CARINA SAID: And yet again more Salem culture explored, and Andrea has come to visit. I like this one. But now I'm worried about that warning. "v ES SAID: We like to keep our "viewers" worried - it means they care for our characters. PHEEBS SAID: We sure did. I love how concerned you are for the Warrens, you truly are a fan. CARINA SAID: Poor Andrea, this is scary. ES SAID: Definitely! Part of why we had her visit and why we did it on Founders' Day, so she would. PHEEBS SAID: And it led to a very fun plot. CARINA SAID: This is a fun episode, I really liked it. So much action and drama both in the present and the past. ES SAID: And the start of our first story arc, which is a time-travel one, since we loved those Charmed episodes so much. Hope you like it! PHEEBS SAID: And, I can't wait to see what you think of it. Hope you enjoy it.

PHEEBS SAID: Me too. I loved the Charmed novelizations too. ES SAID: My favorite books are novelizations of movies or tv shows that I love - like holding that episode in your hands! I LOVE the novelizations of 'Something Wicca This Way Comes' and 'Charmed Again'. I wish they'd done more. CARINA SAID: This one looks like fun. PHEEBS SAID: ES SAID: Doesn't it? That title was one someone used for one of our episodes, but we decided a different one worked better, so this became the title of the book. CARINA SAID: I'm so in love with A Smart Spell and A Banshee...Are We Reading a Charmed Novel?”. I love it. PHEEBS SAID: I'm sure we'd love to read that one. ES SAID: Me, too! CARINA SAID: And I'm sure this move would be easy, being the same partners. PHEEBS SAID: That it would. ES SAID: That's why we decided that for a show like EC, this move made plenty of sense. CARINA SAID: And this makes sense, it will fit at home at CBS-TV. PHEEBS SAID: Yup! I don't want my Elementals split up. PHEEBS SAID: Nope. ES SAID: Neither did we. I'm glad that unlike Kern, we made our Connie believe in her show idea enough to pull the plug if it couldn't be done her way. CARINA SAID: Don't change TBC1, I love the sound of you. Your right, they sure would have. PHEEBS SAID: ES SAID: Carina's comment is definitely a pat on the back for you, Pheebs - you do SO well writing our characters in your Deadline articles! CARINA SAID: And this sounds so much like something Shannen would say. PHEEBS SAID: I'm glad you thought so. ES SAID: Me, too! CARINA SAID: And this is so Alyssa. I agree it would be like a high school reunion, have fun with Shannen. PHEEBS SAID: ES SAID: Hadn't thought of it that way, Carina, but you're absolutely right! CARINA SAID: I agree, you don't want to overcrowd it with guest stars from the original. PHEEBS SAID: I agree, otherwise it will turn into more about the guest stars and less about our EC stars. ES SAID: Exactly! That's why although we originally did cast all six of the main stars (Shannen, Holly, Phoebe, Rose, Brian and Julian), when we decided to "uncast" our series and turn them into TBC1, TBC2, TBC3, TBC4, TBC5 and TBC6, we also decided to just let Shannen and Alyssa guest star and not name any of the others - letting readers decide when/if the others star. Although I did end up doing my own fantasy version (and suggested others do the same) where I *did* have fun casting it, including letting Jennifer play Prudence, Fionla play Patience, Alyssa play Paige, and the two young stars who played Young Prue and Little Piper play Piper and Phoebe. That was a lot of fun!

That's a good idea.
One can just imagine their favourite actor as their favourite character.

Note from Esmeralda: Although we did originally cast this series, we decided to just use TBD (To be determined) and TBC (to be cast) so than any fan can imagine anyone THEY want to play the roles.
PRESS RELEASES FOR ELEMENTAL CHARMED FROM THE CW AND CBS-TV
SEASON ONE PHOEBEVILLE SAID: Penned by Connie Burge sure put a smile on my face. Better her than what rolls eyes that Jane the Virgin creator did with the reboot. I had seen the reboot but gave up midway through. So many problems. I especially love the writing team here for Elemental Charmed. PHOEBEVILLE SAID: The cast descriptions are very good. I love these characters already and powers of the elements sounds rather exciting. A great way to do a reboot don't you all reckon.

The reason Elemental Charmed is so good is because it is being created by fans who love the show. These fans didn't like what Kernus did, when he took over, so, in the EC reality, Kernus never got his hands on it.
Thus all the good writers that Kernus drove out, Sheryl Anderson, Chris Levinson, and Zach Estrin, stayed on. And even though he only writes novels and comics in this reality, Paul Ruditis works on EC over there.
I'm sure there are a few Charmed fans out there who would love to see this series actually produced. Of course, that won't happen, but we can use our imaginations for that.

That was a lot of fun! CARNA SAID: I think you made the right call doing that, so readers can decide who can star. That sounds so cool you decided to do your own. I assume here, Holly and Shannen played the Warrens from the past, and Rose played a villain. You make me want to try my own fantasy version, but a different kind of one, where it focuses on Penny, Patty, Prue, Piper, and Phoebe from Charmed, but if you all give me permission (I'd probably not share it publicly), as wondering if it is possible to do one based on Charmed, with five Halliwells but finding a way to combine Charmed with Elemental Charmed's setting in Salem. So it would be set in 1998. I've become such a fan of Elemental Charmed, that, a part of me, might not do it, I love the EC series too much, that I might do something else. That only if I had permission, otherwise, I'll never mention this again. If not, I'd do a different fantasy version series which stars the Halliwell family in San Francisco, and follows the Charmed series, and just find a way to use Patty and Penny for a Power of Five. Not sure how I'd spread the powers around, the fourth and fifth gifts would probably be Astral Projection and or orbing and the other maybe Empathy. And all the Halliwells always have one power, no additional ones. My Halliwell jobs would probably be letting Prue stay at Bucklands, Piper stay at Quake, Phoebe not working and then college. Penny maybe retired or has a job and close to retiring, and Patty works as a social worker and or detective replacing Andy or Darryl. I'd probably kill off one Halliwell star at the end of Season Three, so Paige could join and replace someone. I might even make Phoebe be the half sister and not be Victors daughter, if I stick with not replacing a Halliwell, if I don't use Paige. But, I still don't know, if this could work. I'd call my series The Power of Five or House of Halliwells not Charmed. CARINA SAID: Another Witch Culture, that sounds so much like something The CW would want on their show. CARINA SAID: I hope they rescue those children. CARINA SAID: CARINA SAID: Go save them Warrens.
CARINA SAID: Hurry, I hope they get saved and get reunited with their family. CARINA SAID: This one sounds interesting. I also love another wonderful plot for a Warren and their job, good work Piper. But of course, just as they toast, a premonition gives them trouble. CARINA SAID: OMG! This is so shocking, and scary. CARINA SAID: Oh no! CARINA SAID: Andrea. WOW! CARINA SAID: This is exciting, and I hope Allen is okay, but he might be dead in this world. CARINA SAID: I love that twist with her, I hope they can help out this universe. CARINA SAID: Andrea, WOW, didn't see that coming. But at least I know this isn't our Andrea, shes still alive in her city.
CARINA SAID: I hope they can fix this. CARINA SAID: Gentle Patience has killed, that tagline sure shocked me. I'm glad she got that honor, but I hate her reputation being ruined. CARINA SAID: CARINA SAID: Another juicy side plot, and I love we have spring break, nice to get an idea where we are in the story. The lives of the Warrens couldn't be more central to the show. I love when it focuses on a true balance, and not just making them out to be demon warrior hunting and being witches 24/7, I need to know they are real people with real lives. I hope they can save the children. CARINA SAID: And of course, Paige can help them out at work. CARINA SAID:
CARINA SAID: What a wonderful episode. CARINA SAID: YAY, Shannen and Alyssa on set. CARINA SAID: I so would look at those social media posts. CARINA SAID: Connie, I'm excited too.
CARINA SAID: Dying to know who they play. Yes, we sure can hardly wait.

Reminds me of Apocalypse World on Supernatural. This was an Earth where Dean and Sam Winchester never existed.
To say it was a cr*psack world would be an understatement.

PRESS RELEASES FOR ELEMENTAL CHARMED FROM THE CW AND CBS-TV
SEASON ONE ES SAID: YAY, Phoebeville! So very glad that you've decided on "Elemental Charmed" (we call it EC for short) as your first story to read! Hope you enjoy reading it as much as we enjoyed working on it! PHOEBEVILLE SAID: Penned by Connie Burge sure put a smile on my face. Better her than what rolls eyes that Jane the Virgin creator did with the reboot. I had seen the reboot but gave up midway through. So many problems. ESMERALDA SAID: I haven't wasted a second on the rip-off and very glad that I haven't! Our displeasure with that is what inspired this series, showing what WE think the reboot should've been like. ----------------- PHOEBEVILLE SAID: I especially love the writing team here for Elemental Charmed. ESMERALDA SAID: We had so much fun choosing our own favorite writers for this virtual series - the fun of working on something like this! Just like the fun of doing this as a group that we named Team Charmed Cafe. PHOEBEVILLE SAID: The cast descriptions are very good. I love these characters already and powers of the elements sounds rather exciting. A great way to do a reboot don't you all reckon. ESMERALDA SAID: I'm glad you think so - we sure did! Oh, just so you know, when there's two names listed, the first one actually came up with the idea and wrote the original version, but during our brainstorming (the most fun of this project - our brainstorming thread ended up being 57 pages long!) the second person came up with ideas to make it better. In this case, I came up with the idea of NOT casting the two younger Warrens quite yet... That was back when we actually were doing the casting. Later on we decided to just turn them to TBCs (To Be Cast) so each fan could come up with whoever they want to play the role - any generation, any nationality, any anything. At that point, we went back and changed all of them...well, as you'll see...except two... Sure hope you'll keep reading and reviewing - but if it ever gets boring to you, feel free to stop and read something else - we all know that due to different life experiences what appeals to one bunch of fans may not appeal to others.

SEASON ONE CARINA SAID: I agree, you don't want to overcrowd it with guest stars from the original. PHEEBS SAID: I agree, otherwise it will turn into more about the guest stars and less about our EC stars. ES SAID: Exactly! I assume here, Holly and Shannen played the Warrens from the past, and Rose played a villain. ES SAID: I think I'll wait until you're done reading (if you end up deciding to read the whole thing) before I introduce you to my own cast, but, yes, I think I pretty much hit everyone - Shannen, Holly, Rose, Dorian, Julian, Drew, Wes, even Kaley, along with a lot of the guest stars. My major difference is rather than 4 1/2 seasons for 100 episodes, I did mine as 2 1/2 for 52 episodes, since that's how many we had at the time I wrote it. I even had fun deciding which author(s) wrote which episodes! Actually since my Season One is the same as Team Charmed Cafe's version (the one you're reading), I'm going to do the first quarter for you (as you can tell, I didn't cast everyone, just those who were actually given a name in the press release): Of course in this first season, our main stars WERE our stars, trying not to have too many guest stars, but it should give you and idea of what I did and how much fun I had. ------------ CARINA SAID: You make me want to try my own fantasy version, but a different kind of one, where it focuses on Penny, Patty, Prue, Piper, and Phoebe from Charmed, but if you all give me permission (I'd probably not share it publicly), as wondering if it is possible to do one based on Charmed, with five Halliwells but finding a way to combine Charmed with Elemental Charmed's setting in Salem. That only if I had permission, otherwise, I'll never mention this again. ES SAID: OH! If you love it enough that you want to do your own version, I'm sure the rest of Team Charmed Cafe won't mind at all - they'd probably love it! I'll ask them when we start re-watching Season Two. In fact, just to give you a different idea, I think I'll post the start of the series we're working on while re-watching that - we re-watch the episode and then use it to inspire our own version: Classic Charmed, Done Our Way (CCDOW for short). That might REALLY inspire you to do your own! We have two groups going since different members can only join the re-watch on certain days. The Saturday group is having fun combining the episodes with later-season episodes while also introducing a new Halliwell - Peyton Fallon, played by Jocelyn Seagrave (she played the Wendigo...) who is taking Paige's place, but rather than half-whitelighter, she's half-demon... The Sunday group is having fun keeping closer to canon, but fixing the things we didn't like. I'm part of that group, although I'm also editor for Saturday's. We also have Peyton, but rather than a half-demon, she's pure human like the sisters and has no powers. Instead she's taking Darryl's place while Darryl is taking Andy's place. We've had SO much fun with keeping the show female-centric! I'm only going to post our series premiere since we have our Season One the way we want it (easy for us since we stuck to canon) while Saturday still has a ton of inconsistencies which they want to fix before sharing it with others. CARINA SAID: If not, I'd do a different fantasy version series which stars the Halliwell family in San Francisco, and follows the Charmed series, and just find a way to use Patty and Penny for a Power of Five. ES SAID: Well, since it would be all yours, you could go ahead and have Penny and Patty (always put the oldest first...) also be sisters so you could have your Power of Five. We never have a Power of Five in EC, just Power of the Elementals, so they don't have to be sisters like classic Charmed. Although, of course, since it's your series, you can do whatever you want, and if you want to say that a grandmother, mother and three daughters can make up the Power of Five - GO FOR IT! ------------ CARINA SAID: Not sure how I'd spread the powers around, the fourth and fifth gifts would probably be Astral Projection and or orbing and the other maybe Empathy. And all the Halliwells always have one power, no additional ones. ES SAID: YAY!!! Glad you agree with that - one power only is MORE than enough! ---------- CARINA SAID: My Halliwell jobs would probably be letting Prue stay at Bucklands, Piper stay at Quake, Phoebe not working and then college. Penny maybe retired or has a job and close to retiring, and Patty works as a social worker and or detective replacing Andy or Darryl. ES SAID: All of those sound perfect! Don't know if you'd include whitelighters. If not, you'd probably want Penny to be a retired doctor like we have her. Speaking of, nothing says you can't switch around the powers and do like we did with EC, letting Penny have premonitions, Patty move things with her mind, Prue transport herself or people, Piper throw fireballs (they're not always evil!) and Phoebe freeze things. ------------ CARINA SAID: I'd probably kill off one Halliwell star at the end of Season Three, so Paige could join and replace someone. I might even make Phoebe be the half sister and not be Victors daughter, if I stick with not replacing a Halliwell, if I don't use Paige. ES SAID: Hehehehe, sounds like our plans for Peyton, our new character, but I don't want to so spoil what's coming, so I'll leave it at that as a teaser. --------------- CARINA SAID: But I still don't know if this could work. ES SAID: Oh, I definitely think it could. ---------------- CARINIA SAID: I'd call my series The Power of Five or House of Halliwells not Charmed. ES SAID: And since you're doing it as your own series and not a reboot of Charmed, you most definitely could. I really hope you do it!! CARINA SAID: Another Witch Culture, that sounds so much like something The CW would want on their show. ES SAID: Yup, it does, which is probably why Marlene wanted to do it. Although she also wanted them to be as much stars as the Warrens and, of course, we couldn't let her do that. I suggested she do a spin-off, starring these witches, but she never did. But that's part of why we decided to do our TBC1, TBC2, etc., routing. CARINA SAID: I hope they rescue those children. ES SAID: CARINA SAID: ES SAID: CARINA SAID: Go save them Warrens. ES SAID: (I hope you know these smiles mean I love your comment!) CARINA SAID: Hurry, I hope they get saved and get reunited with their family. ES SAID: And, of course, they would. But again the fun of press releases - we don't have to figure things out! Although as you'll see, for CCDOW we did it differently since Charmed showed us how to fix it! CARINA SAID: This one sounds interesting. I also love another wonderful plot for a Warren and their job, good work Piper. But of course, just as they toast, a premonition gives them trouble. ES SAID: Naturally. We can't have things go smoothly - no drama in that! CARINA SAID: OMG! This is so shocking, and scary. ES SAID: This is one of my own favorite episodes! CARINA SAID: Oh no! ES SAID: Can't make it TOO easy to rescue them! CARINA SAID: Andrea. WOW! ES SAID CARINA SAID: This is exciting, and I hope Allen is okay, but he might be dead in this world. ES SAID: The fun of an alternate dimension - anything can happen! CARINA SAID: I love that twist with her, I hope they can help out this universe. ES SAID: CARINA SAID: Andrea, WOW, didn't see that coming. But at least I know this isn't our Andrea, she's still alive in her city. ES SAID: Exactly so! CARINA SAID: I hope they can fix this. ES SAID: And, again, of course they do. The fun of press releases! CARINA SAID: Gentle Patience has killed, that tagline sure shocked me. I'm glad she got that honor, but I hate her reputation being ruined. ES SAID: We realized we didn't have an episode where Patience and her job starred. What a way to do it to her, huh? CARINA SAID: ES SAID: Talk about drama, huh? CARINA SAID: Another juicy side plot, and I love we have spring break, nice to get an idea where we are in the story. The lives of the Warrens couldn't be more central to the show. I love when it focuses on a true balance, and not just making them out to be demon warrior hunting and being witches 24/7, I need to know they are real people with real lives. ES SAID: Glad you think so, since that was very important to us. I assume it will be important in your own fantasy version! CARINA SAID: I hope they can save the children. ES SAID: And, of course, they do. If they fail, the press release will definitely include that. CARINA SAID: And of course, Paige can help them out at work. ES SAID: Of course! Don't ALWAYS have to use powers! CARINA SAID: ES SAID: CARINA SAID: What a wonderful episode. ES SAID: YAY! Glad you think so!! CARINA SAID: YAY, Shannen and Alyssa on set. ES SAID: If only... Such fun to have our fantasies come true! CARINA SAID: I so would look at those social media posts. ES SAID: Oh, yes, me, too, definitely! And would LOVE to share them on Charmed sites like this and the Cafe! CARINA SAID: Connie, I'm excited too. ES SAID: CARINA SAID: Dying to know who they play. Yes, we sure can hardly wait. ES SAID: Hehehehe! That's why we're keeping it secret!
