Hi all, I don't know where to ask this so I hope this is permitted I was toying with an idea and I wondered if the Charmed Ones were the only family given assignments to protect the innocent? Was there an episode that hinted of other witches helping the innocent? I can't recall if there was one. If u can point me to that epi. Much appreciated. I've been working on stories for thecharmedpaladinstv.blogspot.com/ and the premise in that virtual series is that, there were certain strong witches who were capable in protecting the innocents, they just happened not to be as notable as the Halliwells. My question, if say, a witch developed a debilitating fear of getting vanquish by demons and that screwed up the witch's way of thinking that it made her start hunting down a witch with more fire power just so she can survive any attack from the demons and balance her witch responsibilities and the rest of her life, does that fall under personal gain? Thanks.

I do not know the answer to your question. I will try to give you a starting place by listing stories that I can think of with other witches.
S1 - Secrets and Guys - Max's dad talks about his wife at one point. Might be worth checking that part.
S6 - The episode introducing Richard's family and potential others with Richard in them.
S8 - The episodes with Mr. and Mrs. Jenkins. In one of them Mrs. Jenkins talks about her mom who was a witch. Might be something to look at.
S4 - Lost and Bound - Probably doesn't have anything, but I'd check to see if anyone discusses the topic with Tyler.
S5 - Witches in Tights - See is anything on this subject is discussed with Kevin.
S3 - Exit Strategy - They aren't magical witches, but maybe the second witch, Janna (?) knows something useful.
S3 - All Halliwells Eve - I'd see if Eva or Charlotte says anything on the subject.
S5 - Siren Song (?) - I'm not sure if this is the right episode, but the episode when Leo and Piper switch powers while she's pregnant. Not sure how much we learn about Leo's charges, but maybe something's there.
S3 - Blinded by the Whitelighter - See if Natalie says anything about her charge that has to do with saving innocents.
That's all I can think of right now. I'm not one hundred percent sure what your other question is, so could you rephrase it?

Thanks for episodes. Okies, here goes I hope this will make the question clearer. Is it personal gain if a witch obtains the other witch's power because she just wants to increase her odds in getting through demon hunts?

Obtains it how? Because the only way I know of to gain someone else's power is to kill them (or at least to stab them with a power stealing atheme). And that goes beyond personal gain. It gets into the realm of evil.
Or are you talking about some different way of gaining powers, like a spell or something? And is this with the permission of the person who has the powers? And does the other witch retain their powers or do they lose them while she has them?
Sorry that I am not doing so well at understanding.

No, not at all. Your questions were helpful and it brought up a point that I want to explore but don't know how to make it work yet. Thanks again!

I think that Personal Gain only applies when a witch uses their powers to better their own lives.
For example, that time that Phoebe used her powers to see the winning lottery number.
