[glow=blue,2,300]Summary[/glow] – The sisters grew up together and they grew apart. Now they move in together after grams dies…what secrets will Phoebe bring from New York? Why is Paige acting so strange? Why do Prue seem so…not herself…and left in the middle as always is Piper but she too as ghost of the past haunting her…
Prologue – Pushing Limits
The rain was smattering against the windows of her car as she stopped on the all too familiar drive way. She took a deep breath as she pulled up the small bag from the seat next to her and then quickly she jumped out and ran up the stone steps to the door. As she tried it she found it locked, she was the first one there.
She took out the key from her pocket and unlocked the door. As she stepped in she had to hold on to the door. The hallway looked so much the same. Okay some dust had landed everywhere making it look very grey but it was the same place. But instead of drowning on memories from that time she stepped inside, closed the door and walked towards the large staircase. The old wood felt so familiar against her fingertips as she rested her hand on the railing. She was home…yet she already regretted going there. She wasn’t ready – she wasn’t ready to be a sister again. Sure she had always been a sister but answering phone calls every now and then didn’t count like this. Yet Piper begged her and how could she possibly explain why she didn’t want to go back?
She stopped in the doorway to the room that was to be hers. Once had it belonged to Patty, their mum and then it had been hers. She left the larger room for Piper as she did have a husband with her. It was fair that way. So she moved into the room and placed her bag on the bed. The rest of her things would come tomorrow so she didn’t really have anything to do. She moved over to the closet and opened it. She was surprised to find all of it like she left it. The boxes of shoes on the floor and some lonely sweaters were hanging in there as well. Without really thinking she sat down on her knees and felt with her hand on the back of the closet. She didn’t really expect for it to be there but she did smile as her hands landed on the small box. She pulled it out and looked at it. The red lid had a thick layer of dust on it and the edges were starting to fall apart, after all it was just an old shoe box.
She lifted the lid and looked inside; there were stacks of letters and papers. There was a drawing of a princess and a cowboy, of course it was signed and his handwriting looked so cute. She had been four the day he gave that to her. He called her his princess…that was so long ago now.
There was a small box in the bottom that she pulled out. The small ring was still there and the tiny pink stone shimmered in the faint light from the sealing. It looked so small now that it was hard to think it could ever have fitted her.
With a deep sigh she closed the box and rose to her feet. She didn’t know why she acted like this. She didn’t miss him. And with that thought in mind she left the room. She moved down the stairs just as the front door opened and a woman walked in. she stomped her feet against the floor and pulled off her jacket, making her long brown curls fall down over her shoulders. She placed her umbrella by the door and then turned around. She spotted Prue standing half way up the stairs, leaning on the railing.
“Hey stranger” the younger of the two hurried up and Prue forced herself off the stairs into the hallway to meet her sister.
“You look so grown up Paigey” Prue said as the two broke apart.
“God I hate that nickname” Paige laughed but Prue just smiled.
“I will always keep it” she said to mock her baby sister. It really did hurt her how much her sister had grown. She was no longer that five year old that kept following her around all the time begging for attention.
“So where are the others?” Paige asked as she looked around the room. “And this place looks so much the same it’s scary.”
“I know, and the others aren’t here yet. Piper said she would come tonight…not even sure about Phoebe” Prue added the last part under her breath.
“You’re still upset Phoebe left?” Paige spun around and eyed her sister.
“No” Prue shook her head. “I know why she left and I understand her wanting to leave, just that we all wanted to leave. That didn’t mean we all ran away…”
“Will you be like this when she comes or can you put on that famous Prudence smile and pretend life is sunshine and roses?” Paige begged more then asked.
“I’ll be nice” Prue mumbled just as the front door opened and two people walked in. The first one was packed with bags and the second one only managed to step into the house before Paige was over there and had thrown her arms around her neck.
“Piper I missed you” Paige said with a big smile as she finally let go.
“Hi Paige” Piper smiled. “Hey” she added as she spotted Prue. She walked over and the two women hugged. “How are you?”
“I’m good” Prue said. “All sunshine and roses” she added which made Paige giggle slightly.
“What did I miss?” Piper asked and looked between her sisters.
“Nothing” Prue said as she walked over to the man who had remained outside of the family reunion. “Nice to see you again Leo.”
“You too” he smiled and gave her a quick hug. “So where should I place the bags?” he asked and looked over at his wife.
“Grams old room” Prue answered in her sister’s place. “It’s the first one on the right” she added and Leo moved up the stairs with the bags.
“So this is nice” Piper said with a smile. “The whole family back together under one roof.”
“Am I the only one thinking this will never work out?” Prue asked.
“Pretty much” Paige said. “Now when will Phoebe get here…” she never got a chance to finish her sentence before the door opened up again and a woman walked in.
The other three sisters turned and looked at Phoebe with smiles but not a word had time to get spoken before a second figure walked inside.
“Mommy I gots my bag” the small girl said and held the tiny pink backpack proudly for Phoebe to see.

Chapter 1 - When Sorry is the hardest word
“Mommy?” Piper said and Phoebe’s head spun up from the girl to her sisters.
“Hi guys, didn’t I mention I had a daughter?” she asked with a sheepish smile.
“No” Paige said, even her enthusiasm was gone and the room was cold and hostile. Everyone noticed that except for the young girl.
“Hi” she said with a small smile as she looked at the three new women.
“Hi Cutie” Piper said and forced on a smile as she bent down to the girl’s height. “So what’s your name?”
“Daisy” The girl answered and then countered with the answer of the question she knew would come next. “And I am…” she held up four fingers on her hand and looked a long time to make sure it was right. “…this old” she looked back at her mother to make sure she did right and Phoebe nodded with a smile.
“So Pheebs?” Paige asked and looked at her two year older sister.
“Can we…?” Phoebe asked and nodded towards the kitchen.
“Sure” this time it was Prue, the first time she spoke since Phoebe had come into the house.
So Phoebe, Paige and Prue walked into the kitchen while Piper stayed with her new niece in the hallway.
“So you want me to show you your room?” Piper asked and the girl but Daisy kept her eyes on her mommy as Phoebe walked into the kitchen.
“Mommy” she said quietly.
“Oh honey she will be back soon” Piper said and got to her feet again. “Now how about we look at that room?” she asked and held out her hand towards the girl. Daisy reluctantly took it and they walked towards the stairs.
“A daughter Phoebe?” Prue asked as soon as the trio entered the kitchen.
“Well its not like you ever called” Phoebe fired back. She knew this would happen, she was stupid to think her sisters would have changed.
“The phone works both ways” Paige said quietly, it was obvious she was not angry like Prue…she was simply hurt.
“I’m sorry” Phoebe said and she let her eyes wander the room, everywhere but to meet the eyes of her sisters. “I couldn’t, okay. Just take that as the lame answer because it’s the truth.”
“So that’s it?” Prue asked. “Hi I’m home oh by the way I have a daughter and you have a niece…”
“Look I can leave” Phoebe said. “I’ll take her and leave; I just thought this was the right thing to do.”
“Don’t leave…” Paige said.
“It’s what she does the best” Prue muttered.
“Fine so I don’t measure up to saint Prue, what a surprise” Phoebe turned around and starred at her oldest sister.
“Look I am not perfect” Prue said, her voice wasn’t loud like the other two expected. They knew her, when Phoebe attacked she bit back…but not now…it was as if Prue just stepped back. “And you should stay…” she added before she walked out of the room.
“What was that?” Phoebe asked confused and looked at Paige.
“Don’t ask me” Paige shrugged and moved to follow her older sister.
“Paige wait” Phoebe called and the younger of the two turned around in the doorway. “You never told me how Europe was” she said with a smile. A smile that Paige did not return. She just kept her eyes at the floor as she gave a quick answer.
“Europe was fine” and so she left the room with a very confused Phoebe left alone.
“Home sweet home” She muttered before she followed her sister out into the hallway only to find it deserted. She pushed away the part of her thinking they had left her because they were mad or just didn’t want to be around her…and she started to climb the stairs towards the second floor.
She walked down the small upstairs corridor and let her fingers brush against the wall beside her. It all felt so familiar, so true. The whole house made her feel so powerful and so…it was a feeling she had not felt in so long but she was sure of it…she felt safe…
“Mommy” she woke up from her thoughts and looked into the room that had once been Piper’s when they grew up. Daisy was standing on top of the double bed but jumped down as she spotted her mother.
“Hey Angel” Phoebe smiled and walked into the room before the young girl wrapped her arms around her waist.
“So how did the talk go?” Piper asked from her position by the bed. She was sitting with Daisy’s backpack beside her.
“Like I thought” Phoebe sighed. “I just didn’t expect it to be so short and so…”
“So what?” Piper asked.
“I don’t know” Phoebe said. “Prue just, she stepped down. She didn’t seem like herself somehow.”
“Maybe you should just be happy you’re home” Piper rose from the bed but there was something in her actions, how she rose so quickly and never met her sister’s eyes.
“You know something” Phoebe said.
“Phoebe” Piper said sternly and looked at her sister. “Please just don’t go there.”
“Go where?” Phoebe asked as Piper moved to pick up Daisy’s backpack.
“No” The young girl leaped up and grabbed it out of Piper’s hands.
“What’s going on sweetie?” Phoebe asked and looked at her daughter who pressed the small bag against her chest as if it contained a hidden treasure.
But Daisy didn’t answer she just directed those big green eyes at her. Those eyes that reminded her so much of her old life…of New York. It reminded her of how strange it felt to feel safe again…
“You didn’t bring it…did you?” Phoebe suddenly asked and moved up to her daughter. She grabbed the bag quickly and opened it. She then lifted her eyes at her daughter… “Daisy…”
“You wouldn’t have taken it” the four year old said as tears started to well up in her eyes.
“No I wouldn’t have” Phoebe said. “And you know why so don’t even give me that look” she added as she threw the bag down on the bed.
“What’s going on?” Piper asked as she had watched it all from the doorway.
“You just don’t want daddy to come” Daisy said before she took a deep breath trying to be brave and keep more tears away.
“You know I don’t” Phoebe shot back, almost immediately regretting it.
“What’s with him anyway?” Piper asked. “Who is he?”
“You know Piper…” Phoebe turned her attention back at her sister. “Don’t even go there” she said, using the same words that had been used on her just a few minutes earlier.
Just a few doors down Prue was sitting at the small desk in her bedroom. She had been sitting there for almost half an hour by now and she had done her unpacking. Okay so it was just some clothes and other things…one of those other things being a letter. A letter that was now in her hands as she starred at it. She didn’t know why she still had it. It was not that long ago it had come yet it was worn by al the times she had looked at it. For some reason it was as if that’s all she did, look at it.
It was not opened yet though so when the knife slid through the paper now it went very smooth through the worn paper. She pulled out the one and only sheet of paper inside and looked at it. The red ink shone brightly at her and the stamp was there. The mark at the top that was matched with the one on the envelope. That’s how she knew…
She had once hoped to never see that mark again and it still made her heart sink. It just reminded of hat she had tried so hard to forget…that was a part of her she never wanted to re live.
She let the letter fall through the air and into the empty bin on the floor before she got up. There was no point in dwelling in the past…and as she walked over to her closet the bold red letters shone from the bin, revealing 5 words – Baker Highschool 10 year reunion….

Chapter 2 - I don’t want to remember
Paige gently closed the door to her room and let out a sigh of relief. She couldn’t help it but she felt weird around her sisters, especially Phoebe. She knew that was wrong but she kind of hoped that Phoebe’s secret would keep them off her. She knew it was just temporary though.
She moved over to her bed and sat down then she just sat there and looked at the wall before her not sure what to do. Usually she didn’t mind being alone but now it made memories surface that she didn’t want to re live. She could still hear Prue’s voice in her head; Europe sounds like a great idea, it could help you in moving on and growing up…
“This is so not happening” Paige leaned back until her body hit the bed as she closed her eyes, hoping to get her mind to drift to somewhere else – but it seemed impossible.
So she got up and walked out of her room. She moved down the hall until she reached Phoebe’s room but on a second thought she kept moving. She knocked on the next door before she walked inside.
“Hi, sorry but I needed to not be alone” Paige said and smiled at her older sister.
“That’s okay” Prue smiled and showed for her sister to take a seat.
“So what are you doing?” Paige asked as she sat down on the chair by the desk. She spun around a few times, enjoying the feeling of happiness as she did so.
“Unpacking” Prue said and showed with her hand for the small bag beside her.
“Oh that looks like a tough job” Paige laughed.
“Well I just needed to get away from everything, you know” Prue sighed.
“Yeah tell me about it” Paige said suddenly turning serious. She could feel her sister’s eyes on her and she knew the question was not far away so she jumped ahead to keep the little bit of peace she still had. “So a niece huh?”
“Yeah” Prue said. “She looks sweet.”
“She does, so what about Phoebe, I mean you two were so close before she left” Paige continued.
“She lied to us, I mean why would she not be able to tell us what went on?” Prue asked.
“Beats me, I mean she was not the girl to keep a secret” Paige laughed.
“True, there has to be more to this” Prue said with a nod.
“Yeah” Paige said.
“So what about you?” Paige felt her whole body freeze as her sister asked. “How was Europe? Did you meet any of those hot Italian guys?” she added with a smile.
“Yeah met a few of those” Paige laughed and tired to keep the tears away. She spun the chair once more and prepared for more questions just as Prue’s cell phone started to ring.
“Be right back” Prue said and hurried out of the room with her phone in her hand.
“Saved by the bell” Paige said as she stopped the chair. She kept her eyes on the floor for a few seconds to try and get back into focus and her eyes landed on the trash can. “What’s that?” she leaned down and picked up the curled up letter but before she had time to read it Prue walked back in.
“I am so sorry but that was the editor which I am trying to get a job with and he just called me for an interview” Prue said with a tired smile.
“Now?” Paige asked and looked down at her watch. “Oh wow is it really only four?”
“Yeah” Prue said and eyed her sister. “Maybe you are still going on Europe time?”
“Maybe” Paige said.
“Okay well I have to take off” Prue grabbed her purse off the bed. “Wish me luck” she added with a smile before she moved out of the room.
“Good luck” Paige said quietly as she let out a deep sigh. “Like luck is ever on our side…”
“What’s that green stuff?” Daisy leaned over the kitchen island as she watched her aunt cook dinner.
“Cucumber” Piper answered as she sliced of some more pieces.
“I don’t like that” Daisy stated ad scrunched her small nose as to show how little she liked it.
“It tastes like water” Piper said. “No bad taste…everyone liked cucumber.”
“I don’t” Daisy stated. “Plus if it tastes like water why can I not have water instead?” she asked and tilted her head as she looked at her new aunt.
“Sure why not” Piper sighed. “But vegetables are good for you, it makes you pretty and strong…”
“Mommy says I am pretty now” Daisy said and directed those big green eyes of hers at Piper.
“Aww of course you are sweetie” Piper said. “You are the sweetest niece I have” she added making the little girl giggle.
“I am your only niece” she said.
“I hope so” Leo said as he moved into the room, making both Piper and Daisy turn around at the sound of his voice. “I mean we don’t want more surprises, right?”
“Yeah” Piper said as she went back to her dinner.
“So where is Phoebe?” Leo asked as he sat down next to Daisy. “I thought she was with you?”
“She went for a walk to clear her head” Piper answered.
“She do that a lot” Daisy stated as she snatched a green grape from the bowl before her.
“She does?” Piper asked without looking up. “When we grew up she hated walks” she added with a smile. “I guess she changed.”
“So Daisy…” Leo turned towards the little girl. “Do you miss your daddy since he didn’t come with you?”
“Leo…” Piper said and gave him a stern look.
“Yeah I miss him but mommy don’t” Daisy said as she stole another of the small grapes.
“So she doesn’t miss him?” Now Piper had thrown all of her sister feelings away and her nosy side kicked in like never before. “Do you think he misses her?”
“Dunno” Daisy shrugged. “He misses me though, he said he wanted me to stay but mommy…” she trailed off and went back to starring into the bowl before her.
“What did she say?” Piper asked and leaned on the counter, the food forgotten…
“She said that I could only stay over her dead body” Daisy answered quietly, it was obvious she was starting to feel uncomfortable sharing this. She looked around to see if her mommy was anywhere near to get her out but there was only the three of them around.
“So she was mad at your daddy?” Piper asked.
“She loved him I know she did” Daisy jumped off her chair and Piper could spot small tears falling down the girl’s cheeks. “She said she didn’t but she did…and he loves her too…” with that Daisy stomped out of the room.
“Piper honey…” Leo started but Piper cut him off.
“There is something hidden in this story” she said.
“The food” Leo said, this time his voice was louder and it did wake Piper up who hurried over to check on the food where smoke was slowly sipping out…
An hour later Prue walked into the sunroom after her interview and found Paige sitting there. The younger looked up as she heard her sister and she smiled as Prue sat down in the arm chair across from her.
“So how did it go?” Paige asked.
“I think it went great” Prue answered. “So what are you doing?”
“Oh just catching up on my reading…” Paige answered and held up the letter in her hands and to her surprise she watched how Prue’s face turned pale as she saw it. “I found it in the trash, aren’t you going?” she asked.
“No” Prue answered and got up on her feet.
“Why not, you loved high school” Paige said.
“People never asked me how I felt!” Prue cried back angrily and gave her sister an evil look before she stormed out of the room.
“Geeze, talk about acting weird” Paige muttered and looked down at the letter.
Upstairs in one of the bedrooms Phoebe sat down on the bed with her arms closed over her chest as she pulled her sweater closer to her body. Her hair was still wet from her walk in the rain and her whole body was shivering from the cold. But she didn’t really care. She leaned out and grabbed her daughter’s small backpack from the chair beside the bed.
She opened it up and looked into it for a few seconds before she slipped up the small book. She smiled as she saw the Winnie the pooh front and then brought it with her as she lay down on the bed. Slowly she started to flip through it watching at the snap shots of her old life. There were pictures of Daisy as a baby and there were pictures of parties with friends. To anyone else they would seem like taken out of a catalogue but Phoebe could tell the difference from them and the real deal. They may be hidden to the eye or even the camera but her eyes could still spot the cloudiness in her eyes and she knew the bruises were there no matter if they got caught on the camera or not…

Chapter 3 - Past – future – collide
The morning dawned with sunshine and on any other day that would have made her cheerful. But not today – today was definitely not a day to be cheerful. With a sigh she sat down by the kitchen island with the hot cup of coffee securely between her hands.
“Hi.”
She was jerked out of her thoughts as she heard the voice and looked up as Daisy crawled up on the chair next to hers.
“Hey” Prue put on a smile towards her niece. “Did you sleep well?”
“Yeah” Daisy replied and then tilted her head as she looked at the adult before her. “Did you?”
“Sure” Prue said and took a deep mouthful of her coffee.
“I had a dream about an angel” Daisy stated, she had obviously missed Prue’s vague answer. “Her name was Alison and she was really pretty and she could fly” she added.
“Sounds like a good dream” Prue couldn’t help but smile and get caught up with her niece’s happy mood.
“You never had a dream about angels?” Daisy asked as she looked up from the toast she had stolen from the counter. She wasn’t eating it as much as picking it apart into a million pieces.
“I did once about my mum” Prue smiled as the girl’s eyes grew wide.
“You’re mommy is an angel?” she asked.
“Yeah” Prue laughed. “The pretties of them all” she added quietly.
“So if you’re mommy is an angel does that make you one?” Daisy asked.
“No sweetie” Prue said and hook her head slightly making her raven hair fall in front of her and she pushed it back again. “You don’t become an angel until you die and that is a long time from now” she said and smiled as she got off her chair.
“So why won’t you go to your reunion?” Daisy asked making Prue turn back to the girl. She narrowed her eyes as Daisy put on her innocent look.
“How do you know about that?” Prue asked.
“I heard you talking to…” she paused a second to make sure she got the right name. “…Paige last night.”
“So I see Phoebe’s nosy genes are still growing strong” Prue said which made Daisy giggle slightly.
“So why are you not going?” Daisy asked again. “You didn’t like school? Were the kids mean to you?”
Prue found herself to be a bit dumbfound at the young girl’s questions. But she did sit back down and looked at her niece for a few seconds. “Okay I’ll tell you but it’s a secret between you and me, okay?”
“Kay” Daisy said with a smile and Prue just hoped her niece had not also inherited her mommy’s ways of keeping secrets…
Upstairs Phoebe just got out from the shower and used her hand to brush the fog away from the mirror so she could see herself. The brown eyes starred back at her with the same sadness and insecurity she felt inside. She looked away and started to brush her hair and then she got dressed. She didn’t like to look in the mirror because it made her feel like she was not alone. That was a feeling she was all too used to, she was never alone no matter where she was.
With a sigh she draped the sweatshirt over her body and zipped it shut. What you can’t see don’t exist, right? She didn’t look back for a second at the mirror that now smoke started to move around inside…maybe she would have been better off to have sent one small look back before she left – but she didn’t.
Instead she moved down to the kitchen, as she walked inside Prue brushed past her with a smile on her lips.
“You look happy, what’s up?” Phoebe asked and Prue turned around and looked at her sister.
“I am getting ready for my high school reunion” She answered just as Paige came down the stairs as well.
“Really? What made you change your mind?” the youngest of the sisters asked.
“Wait what reunion?” Phoebe asked confused.
“I got some advise” Prue answered with the same smile on her lips. “Why should I be the one not to go? I should go and show him…” she added before she hurried up the stairs in her search for the perfect dress, most likely to be found in one of her sister’s closets.
“Show who?” Phoebe called after her but got no reply so she looked at Paige who just shook her head.
“Don’t look at me.”
Together the two sisters walked into the kitchen to find Daisy spinning around on the high chair. She stopped as she spotted them and broke into a big smile.
“Morning.”
“Morning” Phoebe said and looked around the room but not finding anyone else. “Hey sweetie did you talk to Prue?”
“Yeah” Daisy nodded. “She had some problems but we worked them out.”
“I see…what kind of problems were they?” Phoebe asked and moved closer to her daughter.
“Secret” Daisy closed her arms over her chest and kept her mouth shut.
“Oh come on” Paige joined in. “Just a tiny bit?” but Daisy just shook her head.
“You know if you keep secrets you won’t grow” Phoebe said in lack for other things.
Daisy seemed to think it all over hard but then broke into a small smile. “I like being short” and with that she turned to Paige. “What for breakfast?”
“Nice work raising that one” Paige muttered as she moved towards the stove to try and make some kind of breakfast that didn’t involve putting things on fire.
--
“Piper I need your shoes” Prue walked into her sister’s bed room only to find it empty. “Hallo! Did you escape?” she asked half on fun half for real after what had happened the day before.
“Cute” Piper walked out of her bedroom with a towel around her hair and one around her body. “Now what shoes are we talking about and why are you smiling?” she placed her hands on her hips and gave her older sister what she hoped was the grams look.
“The black stilettos” Prue answered. “I am going to the reunion” she added and saw how the look on her sister changed.
“Prue…” she said not quite sure how she wanted to finish that sentence.
“I’m fine” Prue said. “Why should I bend down for what happened so long ago?”
“Okay then” Piper smiled as she fished up the shoes. “So did you call in that you are going? I mean so that he knows….”
“I called Melanie s she knows, he will find out when I come…if he show up that is” Prue said. “Now what dress?” she added in a second breath.
“You going with black?” Piper asked with a smile as Prue nodded. “Then there is really only one dress to choose, hun” she said.
“Yeah I think you’re right” Prue said. “Thanks” she added before she moved out of the room just as Leo came out from the bathroom wearing nothing but a towel around his waist. He walked over to his wife and laced his arms around her waist from behind.
“I thought she would never leave” he whispered and she smiled as she turned around to meet him with a kiss.
--
It was a few hours later when Prue nervously walked into the hotel lobby. She was starting to feel uncomfortable in the dress, suddenly it felt too short and the neckline too deep, hey even the color felt wrong.
But she took a deep breath and handed her coat to the man behind the counter that was set up for the event. He took it and let his eyes slowly wander over her dress; a smile of liking passed his face but soon disappeared as she gave him a cold stare. He gave her the note and a name tag and she started to move towards the doors to the man hall.
She opened the doors and soon the music hit her, the colors were everywhere and people were dancing. For that split second she was back – back to high school – back to the life she hated. Around her people smiled and nodded as they saw her but she knew they didn’t mean it. Maybe she was over reacting but then again…she didn’t care, coming there had been wrong. She turned to walk out but she walked straight into someone and when she looked up she could feel all the color disappearing from her face.
“Hi” he said and smiled.
“Andy…hi” she said and tried to keep her voice somewhat normal.

Chapter 4 - Late night coffee with supernatural activity
“Prue” Andy said with a smile. “Nice seeing you again…it’s been what, 10 years.”
“Andy, I never knew you had such a bad memory” She said and tried to move by him but he remained in her way so she stopped to look up at him. “I thought I could do this but I can’t so either you step back or you know what I will do” she threatened.
Andy seemed to stop for a moment to think but when he saw the look on her face he stepped back allowing her to move past him. However he was not late to follow her out of the room.
“Andy” Prue turned around as she got her coat back and started to put it on. “Go back to the party.”
“Well I think I feel like taking a walk” he answered and followed her out of the hotel.
She could feel him being a few steps behind her all the way down the street and when she turned the corner so did he. Part of her wanted to turn around and send his sorry ass flying into the nearest building, yet a small but innocent part inside of her started to soften. It wanted to turn around and talk to him…then of course there was the part that wanted to turn around, push him against the wall and make out with him right then and there.
Slowly she turned around at the street and watched him walk closer and closer. The grin was very visible on his face even though the sun was slowly setting in the distance.
“I’m not going away you know” he said when he stopped right beside her.
“You live miles away, remember” she said and she could feel her throat tighten but she would never let him know, she would never show that she was not the strong person she pretended to be.
“I got transferred to SFPD last month” he answered calmly. He even smiled as he thought she would be happy. That she would throw her arms around him and that he could once again hold her close like he wished. But instead she took a different turn.
“How could you do that?” she cried, sounding very angry.
“What?” he asked stunned. “I thought you would be happy.”
“No” she shook her head and let her eyes wander the ground under her feet. “This is not good…I need my buffer” she added and looked around her, everywhere except on him.
“Buffer?” he asked.
“I need for you to be far away, I need for you to be that person I could have been with but fate took away. I need that…” she said and she didn’t even care she was starting to ramble.
“That’s not what you said three years ago” he added with a smile.
“Three years ago things were different. That’s when I was different” she answered.
“I’m different too” he said.
“You have a wife” she stated and finally looked at him. “People with wives do not talk to old girlfriends like this” she said.
“I had a wife” Andy said.
“Had?” Prue was taking off guard. “Seriously you got a divorce….what is with you and stealing my buffers” she cried angrily.
“What I’m free, you’re free…we could start up again” Andy said with that sweet smile he had. That smile that once had turned her heart to jelly and nothing she did could make her resist it…but she was different now.
“No” she said. “I gave you a chance, no I gave you 2 chances…” she added that last part very quietly but she knew he heard her. “You gave up…it’s over and you know it.” She started to walk down the street without looking back…she didn’t want him to see her tears…
--
“Coffee?” Leo asked his wife as he pored himself a cup. But as he got no response he turned around only to find Piper sitting at the table starring into the wall. “Piper honey…” he sat down next to her and gave her one mug.
“Did you know that if you stare into this wallpaper long enough you start to see images?” Piper asked without looking away from the wall.
“I never tried but it can’t be good for the eyes” Leo answered. “Is something on your mind or is this something you used to do for fun when you were a kid?”
“Do you have any secrets you knew you had to keep but just as much wanted to shout from the roof top?” She finally moved her eyes form the wall to look at her husband.
“Well I have your secret” he said with a soft smile. “And I have my secret…other then that not any secrets.”
“No I mean non magical” Piper said.
“No, why?” He asked. “You have any secrets you want off your chest?”
“What if I knew my sister had a secret that could literally shake the whole foundation of this family?” she directed those chocolate brown eyes at him. “Would you tell them even if you knew it meant she would never speak to you again…but if you don’t the other two would call me traitor?”
“Maybe if you told me just what it’s about then I could help?” he suggested.
“You know, just forget it” Piper sighed. “How am I supposed to choose one sister over the others?”
“Maybe if you…” Leo started but before he could finish Piper’s head shot up and she looked around. “What?”
“I just…felt something” She said and looked around some more.
“Something like what?” Leo asked. “Demon?”
“No” Piper shook her head, it was more like a chill” she said. “Probably just a window open or something though” she added and focused her eyes into her coffee once more.
“So you want to tell me that secret now?” Leo asked.
“Its no big deal, but I will tell you when I’m ready, okay?” she asked.
“Fair enough” Leo said but she could tell he was a bit disappointed. He said he wasn’t nosy but she knew the real truth.
“Okay seriously!” Piper spun around on her chair and look around the room, her eyes scanning every inch of it. “There is something in here.”
“Something like what?” Leo asked.
“Well I don’t know, do that sensing thingy you do” she said.
“That sensing thing only works on charges and demons” he said but the look on her face told him she was not bending down. “Fine…” he closed his eyes and tapped into his powers.
“Anything?” Piper asked.
“I don’t feel anything” Leo answered and opened his eyes. “Maybe you’re tired…”
“Are you calling me crazy?” Piper cut him off and narrowed her eyes at him.
“No, not crazy…maybe just a tad over-worked” he said.
“Maybe” she said slowly and turned around again, just barely missing the quick reflection in one of the pots that hung over the kitchen island.
“So…” Leo said not really sure what to do so he turned his eyes at the wall. “You know you’re right, I think I see a boat there…”
--
It was late when Prue made it through the front door. Her coat was a bit crooked, her hair was wet from the rain that had started a few hours earlier and her shoes were in her hand. She dumped down on the chair in the kitchen and just sat there.
“Prue honey what happened to you?” Piper asked as she looked up from the paper she was reading.
“It started to rain again” The oldest sister answered.
“I see that, how was the reunion?” Piper asked.
“Great, I came, I saw, I went” Prue said sarcastically. “Oh and Andy was there….he created the mascara marks, not the rain.”
“Oh sweetie, was it that bad?” Piper asked as she grabbed a towel from the laundry pile and came back with it so Prue could try and get cleaned up.
“He moved here…and he got a divorce” Prue answered as she cleaned off the run down mascara from her face.
“He did?” Piper sounded surprised. “Well that’s good…” she caught the look from her sister. “…that’s bad…” she said.
“He expected for me to run into his arms and take him back” Prue said and lowered the towel to her lap. “I was the one to stand at his door three years ago and beg him to come back, and he was the one that slammed that same door in my face.”
“I know, sweetie” Piper wrapped her arms around her sister who placed her head on her shoulder.
“I always though it would be we, you know. That no matter what we would come back for him. But that won’t happen…will it?” Prue was now crying again.
“Maybe that’s why he’s back, maybe he’s ready” Piper suggested.
“Don’t you see that it’s over?” Prue asked as more tears slid down her face and she broke free from her sister’s embrace. “It’s been 3 years Piper…that’s too long.”

Chapter 5 - Nancy Drew of the Halliwell house
“I hate Sundays” Phoebe groaned as she walked into the kitchen the following morning.
“What no sunshine mood?” Paige asked from her position by the table with the news paper and a glass of orange juice.
“Sunday means Monday is close” Phoebe said as she flopped down onto a chair next to her baby sister. She looked around confused. “Where are the others? Or more importantly where is Piper and breakfast?”
“Prue is still sleeping and Piper went grocery shopping with Daisy about half an hour ago” Paige informed. “Leo went…” she showed with her hand at the sealing. “And that’s everyone, right?”
“So what’s to eat?” Phoebe asked.
“There is toast in the toaster” Paige answered before she dug deeper into the paper.
“Okay” Phoebe rose and started to make herself something to eat while Paige continued to read.
“Hey what will happen to Ask Phoebe now that you moved?” Paige asked and looked up from the article she was on. “I mean are you still doing it? Because if you’re not then I have to cancel my subscription.”
“I was actually thinking about doing something else” Phoebe confessed as she moved across the kitchen with two slices of toast in her hands.
“Different like…?”
“Different like going back to school” Phoebe said as she sat down at the table.
“You hated school” Paige said.
“True but I need a break and I always wanted to take up psychology” Phoebe answered.
“That sounds nice” Paige said.
“So what happened to you in Europe” the question from Phoebe was completely unexpected and almost made Paige fall off her chair.
“What?” Paige asked.
“Well you’re acting all weird about it…almost like when I got pregnant” she said and suddenly she looked up at her sister. “THAT’S IT!” she smiled. “You’re pregnant.”
“No” Paige shot back. “That’s ridiculous.”
“No it’s not, it makes perfect sense” Phoebe grinned just as the kitchen door opened and Piper walked in with Daisy close on her tail. She dropped her bags on the counter and then looked at her sisters.
“What makes perfect sense?”
“Paige is pregnant” Phoebe blurred out.
“WHAT?” Piper cried.
“I’m not pregnant” Paige sighed. “It’s just that Nancy Drew here thinks she knows me so damn well” Paige said and rose from her set. After sending one evil look at Phoebe she walked out of the room.
“Paige!” Phoebe called but she got no response except for the door slamming shut behind her.
“Nice going” Piper laughed.
“What pegant?” Daisy asked from her position on one of the high chairs at the kitchen island. In her mouth she had a small red lollipop that made her words come out slurry.
“Pregnant is what a mommy gets when she is about to have a baby” Phoebe answered with a smile at her daughter.
“Can I get pegant if I want a baby?” Daisy asked and tilted her head as she looked from her mommy to her aunt.
“Just about a million years from now yes” Phoebe answered, making her sister giggle.
“Meanie” Daisy said and pouted her lip.
Before anyone else could say anything there was a knock on the door. Daisy jumped off her chair and headed to answer it before anyone else could. She stopped by the door and then slowly opened it to make sure she could close it if it was some weird person.
“Hi” she said carefully as she spotted the man outside.
“Hey there pretty girl, my name is Andy, I’m looking for Prue Halliwell…does she live here?” the man asked.
“Auntie Prue don’t like you no more” Daisy stated firmly and crossed her small arms over her chest.
“Oh” Andy said. “Well I like her and would very much like to talk to her” he added. “Maybe you could ask her at least?”
“I doubt it” Daisy replied coldly.
“Daisy sweetie who is it?” Piper came up behind her niece but froze as she saw Andy. “What are you doing here?”
“He wants to see Prue” Daisy answered. “I told him to take a hike” she added and received a proud smile from her aunt.
“Please just go away” Piper said to Andy. “She doesn’t want to see you.”
“You don’t know what you’re talking about” Andy stated. “Just let me talk to her.”
“I know very well what I am talking about” Piper replied.
“You don’t want us together” Andy said.
“Actually I do, at least I did” Piper replied.
“I just want her to love me again” Andy sighed and slid his hand through his hair. “Why can’t that be enough for her?”
“Because you made sure it was never about just you two again” Piper shot back. “You both did.”
“That is over and done with” Andy said.
“Is it?” Piper asked and looked at him, she could spot that sad look in his eyes from miles away.
“But what about Prue? What about me?” That’s a big thing” Andy replied.
“Yeah” Piper nodded. “But what about Dylan…?”
--
Back inside Paige threw herself down on the bed with a frustrated sigh. Today was a bad day, they were fewer and fewer by now but when they came they were bad. She hated days like that. It was days like that which made her feel like maybe this was not the place for her to be.
She closed her eyes and tried to close out the screams but they just kept rising. Even when she placed her hands over her hears she could still hear her friends screaming, she could hear the loud explosions and she could feel the flames touch her body.
“It all over” she said to herself and curled up closer but it didn’t stop. She felt the smoke in her lungs and she felt the hot flames eating at her. It was all too much for her and slowly tears began to flow…
--
Just a few doors away Prue was lying on her bed as well ad she was crying too. Only she had her own painful memories haunting her. In her hand she held a small photo frame, it was the one that had been in the old shoebox among the things from Andy. Only this photo was different. In this photo she was sitting in a small bed looking down at the tiny infant in her arms. It was just the two of them, Andy had never been there.
She could still remember the nurse asking if you wanted a picture. Back then it had been so important; she wanted to show it to Andy. Then he would come running back to her – to them. They were going to be a family back then…boy had she been naïve.
She let her fingers trace the small baby and a small smile formed on her lips. He had turned 2 last august, he was growing up. She had counted the days, she knew when he was about to take his first steps and his first words…she had stopped counting now. He was gone, it was too late to bring him back even if she wanted to.
The soft knock on her door woke her up from her thoughts. She brushed her tears away and turned around to see who it was.
“Andy…what are you doing here?” she asked.
But before he could answer muffled screams made it through the walls. Prue hurried to her feet and out the door, Andy was not far behind.
“What’s going on?” He asked.
“I don’t know” Prue answered as she found Phoebe and Piper outside of Paige’s room.
“The door is locked” Phoebe stated as more cries was heard from inside.
“Step back” Prue said and she threw her hands out, making the door fly open.
They all moved into the room only to find Paige lying on her bed, curled up in the fetus position crying.
“No demon?” Piper asked as she looked around.
“Doesn’t look like it” Prue answered as she watched Phoebe sit down next to Paige.
“I’ll be downstairs” Andy said and walked out of the room, he felt this was a sister thing but he still stayed close by.
“Paige honey” Phoebe said and gently placed her hand on her sister’s arm. Something that made Paige flinch and open her eyes. “Are you okay?”
“The fire” Paige said in a quiet voice. “I felt it…the screams were so loud…I don’t want to go back there…I can’t re-live it again…”

Chapter 6 - I’m sorry
”What fire?” Phoebe asked confused. “Was it a dream?”
“No” she shook her head slightly.
“When was the fire?” this time it was Prue who asked as she kneeled down on the floor by the bedside. She nestled her fingers into her baby sister’s hair and took her hand with the other one. “Was it in Europe?” she asked and Paige nodded slightly.
“Can you tell us what happened?” Piper asked and moved up next to her sisters.
“There was a party” Paige started slowly, her voice monotone and without much feeling in it. “We, my friends and I went. I didn’t want to but this guy was going to be there and so I went. At first things was great, we were dancing and me and Henry got along great…” by now Paige started to cry again and Phoebe wrapped her arms around her sister for comfort.
“Its okay, we’re here” she whispered.
“The fire alarm went of after midnight…” Paige continued. “The smoke came soon after and there was panic, I guess there is a reason parties are not on the fifth floor. Henry tried to get me out but there were too many people, we got stuck by the door. There were too many people and too little place.”
“Oh honey but they made it, right?” Piper asked carefully. “I mean you made it.”
“Piper” Phoebe hissed.
“No” Paige shook her head. “I ran back inside when they didn’t come, Henry came with me. We found them in an extra room; they were already on the floor. The ambulance men said it was the smoke.”
“Oh Paige…” Prue said.
“I sat with my best friend’s head in my lap while she whispered her last words” Paige said in the same monotone voice. “How could I ever get over that?”
“I don’t think you will…” Phoebe started only to receive a slap on the shoulder from Piper.
“Supportive” Piper said.
“I was just meaning that she will never get over it but it will get easier by every passing day” Phoebe replied and looked sternly at her older sister.
“Thanks” Paige said and let out a big yawn.
“Hey Paige how about you take a nap, we’ll be right downstairs if you need us” Prue said and rose to her feet.
“Okay” Paige answered.
“We can stay if you want” Phoebe hurried to say.
“No its okay” Paige said and watched as her sisters reluctantly left her room. Piper left the door open a bit just in case.
As soon as she knew they were gone, she could hear their footsteps in the stairs then she got up. She moved into her bathroom and locked the door just in case. She didn’t want anyone coming in on her while she did this. She carefully took off her sweater and with her face to the mirror and her hands to her back she started to peel off the bandage. She placed it on the sink, grabbed hold of the white cold surface and looked at her face in the mirror. One deep breath before she turned around, this time with her eyes closed.
She took up the small hand mirror and counted slowly to herself. “One…two…three” she opened her eyes and looked into the mirror before her. She gazed at her back reflecting in the mirror behind her…it hurt her more then she thought it would. Sure she was like this every time, it was just that every time she peeled off the bandages she hoped the scars would be gone…never had she such luck.
She lowered the mirror with a sigh and moved over to the small table beside here. She picked up a new bandage and carefully placed it over her left shoulder and down to the back. When she was done she moved to the side where her pajamas were neatly folded. She got changed and then left the room. She moved the covers to the side and slid under them. She placed her head on her pillow, now with less screaming in her head…but for some reason she could still see Henry’s face before her as she closed her eyes…
--
Prue followed her sisters downstairs and they all moved into the living room. There on the floor sat Daisy with two Barbie dolls and a whole box of clothes and accessories. Next to her sat Andy looking very lost with a doll in his hand.
“Now that’s a Kodak moment” Prue whispered to her sisters as she grabbed the camera from the table beside her.
The bright flash made the two people on the floor look up and Daisy smiled as she waved the doll towards them.
“You wanna play too?” she asked.
“Uhm sure sweetie but how about we do it in the kitchen?” Piper asked and pulled the girl to her feet and dragged her with her to the kitchen.
“Sounds good” Phoebe grabbed the rest of the things and hurried after.
“Nice of them” Prue said sarcastically.
“Yeah” Andy said as he pulled himself up from the floor using the couch next to him.
“So why did you come?” she asked, still not moving from her position by the door to the room.
“Well we didn’t exactly finish our conversation last time” he said with a smile.
“So you came back like a stalker?” she asked as she rose on eyebrow at him.
“Well no, more like a guy who acted like a jerk and wants to be forgiven” he answered, still with that cocky smile.
“If that’s the case then you might as well leave” Prue stepped aside and showed the clear way out to the front door.
“Prue…” he started.
“No she cut him off. “You don’t get to do this to me. You don’t get to come back with that smile and that look. You had a chance; I gave you one if you remember. I stood outside your door and asked for you to come with me…do you remember what you did?” she asked as her eyes started to get glazed with tears.
“Things were complicated” Andy said and took one step towards her but she backed away.
“Yeah, well I don’t want complicated anymore” she shook her head slightly before she looked up to meet his eyes. “We had a plan, now I have a plan, one to keep me alive. One to keep the bruise away from where that door of yours hit me” she added.
“I said I was sorry” Andy said.
“NO” she cried back. “You never did…” she added more quietly, almost as if it was only meant for her, but she knew he heard it.
“Well I am, I am so sorry” he said, she could hear he sounded sincere but that was not enough.
“You’re about three years too late” she answered.
“You need me” Andy said as he moved closer but she just starred at him.
“I need you?” she tried to sound like she didn’t want to laugh.
“You need me to get Dylan” he said and reached out for her hands. “We can be a family again.”
“First we were never a family; you having a picture of him in your wallet mean nothing. Secondly I don’t need you…and Dylan, it’s too late” she added.
“What do you mean too late?” Andy asked. “He is our son.”
“We gave him away” Prue said. “It’s not a toy you can go back two years later and pick up because now you want to play with it.”
Andy didn’t say anything, he just stood there and let that sink in. He knew Dylan had been adopted but he always though of it as he could pick him up when he wanted…
“Andy just leave” Prue sighed.
“But…” Andy started.
“Just don’t” she cut him off. “Don’t act like you want a son that you gave away. Don’t act like you want me back because you don’t want me the way I need…and don’t act like you care even the slightest how much you hurt me…” she said and moved aside. “Now please just leave.”
“No” he said agitated. “I won’t leave until you forgive me.”
“Then I’m sorry…” she pointed at him and with tears falling down her cheeks she moved her arm out to the hallway, making him fly with it out through the doors. “…I’m sorry…” she repeated as the front doors slammed shut again and she slid down to the floor as more tears came.

Chapter 7 - The past comes knocking
”Are six enough?” Piper asked and looked up from the stove at her husband who was sitting at the table reading the news paper.
“Six what?” he asked without as much as look up.
“Eggs” Piper said and forced to keep nice even though she had a great urge to slap that spatula at the back of his head. “Are six enough or should I get some more?”
“Well since I want 2, Paige and Phoebe usually have one each and you as well…Daisy is small so she could probably not eat too much and Prue…will she even come down?” Leo asked and finally put the paper down.
“Seven it is” Piper cracked one more egg into the pan making Leo look confused at her. “Well Prue had a tough night, she needs food” Piper stated as if it was as natural as anything.
“Oh” Leo said.
“Hey could you look after this for a second?” Piper asked and moved out of the kitchen before he had time to protest.
Leo sighed slightly and then moved up to the stove. He looked down at the food and wondered what he was supposed to do.
“Whatcha doing?” He looked up to see Daisy wander into the room.
“What does it look like I’m doing, I’m cooking” Leo smiled as the girl climbed up on the nearest chair by the stove. She stood on her knees and looked into the frying pan with a small frown.
“That don’t look good” she stated.
“What why?” Leo asked confused.
“You should turn them” the girl said. “People usually don’t like them black” she added.
“Oh” Leo hurried to turn the eggs over and sighed slightly as they looked like Piper used to serve them to him.
“You don’t cook often, do you?” Daisy asked with a giggle.
“Well no” Leo admitted. “So how come you are such an expert?” he asked.
“My dad taught me” Daisy said with a shrug.
“So he’s a good cook?” Leo asked.
“My dad is a good everything” Daisy stated. “He can do anything.”
“He sounds pretty great” Leo said as he turned the heat down on the eggs so to not burn them.
“He is” Daisy said. “But you will know that when he comes” she added and jumped down from her chair.
“He’s coming?” Leo asked.
“Of course he is” Daisy said and turned around to face him. “He said he loves me, so why wouldn’t he come?” she added before she walked over to the table and began to set out the plates form the pile.
--
Upstairs Piper knocked her way through Prue’s bedroom. She stepped inside only to find her older sister still in bed.
“Rise and shine” Piper cheered and pushed the curtains away and let the sunshine inside.
“Go away” Prue mumbled and pulled her covers over her head.
“No way missy” Piper sat down on the bed and pulled the covers away revealing a very tired looking Prue.
“Piper don’t make me throw you out” Prue groaned.
“Like you did with Andy?” Piper asked making Prue actually look up at her.
“He forced me” Prue said.
“Okay well is it really worth spending the day in bed for?” Piper asked. “I mean wouldn’t that mean he won?”
Prue seemed to be thinking about it for a short time only to slowly sit up. “Fine so I’ll come down.”
“And you’ll tell them?” Piper asked carefully.
“What? No” she shook her head. “No way, I can’t do that.”
“You have to tell them” Piper said. “They should know they have a nephew.”
“Piper…” Prue said but her sister cut her off.
“You know what I am getting mighty tired of this pity party” Piper said and got up on her feet. She pulled the covers all off Prue. “You are getting your lazy but into the bathroom for a shower. Then when you smell good and get that hair under control you get down there to have your two eggs that I hope Leo didn’t burn and then when you are no longer hungry you tell them” she said and placed her hands on her hips as to show she was being serious.
“Okay” Prue sighed and got up. “You can be such a pain by the way” she added ans she walked past her sister.
“Right back at ya” Piper called back.
--
Ten minutes later everyone but Prue was seated around the kitchen table with their plates filled.
“Why are the eggs black on the edges?” Paige asked as she slowly turned it around on her plate with the fork.
“Yeah and mine is kind of hard” Phoebe added.
“Leo made them” Daisy said with a giggle before she took a bite of her toast.
“Oh” Paige and Phoebe both pushed their plates to the side at the same time and reached for toast instead.
“Where is aunty Prue” Daisy asked as she noticed one chair was still empty.
“She is just in the shower, she should be down any minute…” Piper started but her sentence died out just as Prue walked into the room.
“Good morning” she said and sat down next to Daisy.
“Morning” came an answer from everyone.
“Don’t try the eggs” Daisy leaned over and whispered.
“Why not?” Prue whispered back.
“I think they could kill people” the four year old answered making Prue smile.
“Thanks for the heads up.”
“So…” Phoebe said. “What really happened last night?” she asked and looked at Prue.
“Yeah I heard you threw Andy out” Paige joined in.
“Nothing happened” Prue said but received a nudge from Piper. “Uhm…well actually something happened.”
“Care to share?” Phoebe asked as she placed a layer of marmalade on her toast.
“Okay, well it’s a long story” Prue said.
“Fine so Start now before it becomes longer” Paige said with a smile.
“Okay” Prue took a deep breath. “I am just going to say it and let it out, no matter if you will hate me when I’m done. “You all know the story of how me and Andy broke up after high school. Well about three years ago I went to Portland and saw him.”
“Wasn’t he married?” Phoebe asked confused.
“Well yes” Prue sighed. “But things just kind of happened.”
“You mean you and him…” Paige said and tired to hide her smile, something she was failing miserably.
“Yes” Prue nodded. “Its nothing I’m proud of though” she added quickly.
“Well just be happy you didn’t get pregnant” Phoebe mumbled but as the room feel very quiet she looked up at her oldest sister. “You didn’t, did you?”
“Yeah I did” Prue confessed and as she said that she watched as Phoebe dropped her toast on the table and Paige almost spilled her juice out. “And I went to his house and told him. I begged him to come with me back and we could give it another chance…”
“So what did he say?” this time it was Leo who asked.
“He didn’t say anything” Prue said quietly. “Though him slamming the door in my face speaks a lot more if you ask me” she added.
“Oh sweetie” Phoebe got up and wrapped her arms around her oldest sister.
“You’re not yelling at me?” Prue asked.
“Well no, you screwed up first so I’m just happy” Phoebe said making Prue laugh.
“Does this mean we can talk about Dylan now?” Daisy asked and looked up at her mommy and her aunt.
“You knew?” Phoebe asked and eyed her daughter only to in the second breath turn to Prue again. “And you had a baby boy?”
“Yeah, but I gave him away” Prue said with one small tear in her eye. “He’s better off though” she added.
“Honey” Phoebe hugged her once more just as the doorbell rang.
“I’ll get it” Daisy jumped off her chair and sprinted for the door.
She pulled it up slightly only to find a man standing outside. She smiled at him and moved the door further up.
“Hi” she said.
“Hey there” the man bent down to her level. “Imagine, I came to see a pretty girl and met one more” he said with a smile making Daisy giggle.
“So who did you come to see?” she asked.
“I came to see Paige, she lives here right?” he asked a bit unsurely.
“Yeah come on” Daisy showed for him to follow her and he did, closing the door behind him.
They walked into the kitchen just as Paige and Phoebe seemed to be in some kind of discussion.
“I bet if he lived here I would be his favorite aunt” Phoebe stated but this time Paige didn’t argue. “Hallo, Paigey” she said but Paige didn’t listen. She was looking at the man with a bit smile on her face before she ran up and threw her arms around his neck.
“I missed you Henry” she mumbled into his leather jacket and he hugged her tightly.
“I missed you too Paige” he said.

Chapter 8 - Visits in the night
The whole manor was dark and the people in it sound asleep. That was except for one person, well maybe not a person…I guess it’s true as they say that ghosts never sleep.
The transparent woman came out of nothing as she moved into the kitchen. She looked up at the pots and pans above her and tucked a stray of golden hair behind one ear as she looked at her reflection. She smiled to herself and them moved through the kitchen and soon found herself in front of the stove. With an evil smile she looked at it.
“So this is what dear Piper likes to do” she moved her hand over it and small sparks shot out of it making her laugh. “I wonder what she will say now…maybe an accident will wipe that happy smile off her face” she snickered and moved out of the room.
As she got into the living room her eyes landed on the row of pictures on the mantel. She looked at the first one which was of Prue wearing a gown and hat, obviously her graduation and a man was standing beside her in the same gown.
She moved further down until her eyes landed on a picture of Piper and Leo together that had been taken at their wedding a year earlier. She stifled a laugh and moved her hand out at it but it just went through it.
“I hate being like this” she said angrily and used that anger; she challenged it and threw her hand out. This time it hit the frame and it fell to the floor, the glass breaking into thousands of pieces.
With a satisfied smile on her lips and moved out of the room and towards the stairs that led to the second floor. The old floorboards didn’t make a sound as she moved up them and soon she found herself in the upstairs hallway.
She moved up to the first door and slid it open. She looked inside only to find the wrong woman in there so she closed the door and tried the next one.
It took her three tries to get the right room but as she did she walked inside and closed the door behind her. She gazed down at the couple lying nestled together in the large bed. Her long dark hair was nestled in with their pillows and his hand was resting around her waist as to hold her as close as possible…it made her sick.
She moved closer until she was standing right by Piper’s side. Her transparent hands went out over the woman’s body and she held them there. She absorbed the mixed feelings the woman was feeling and a small smile spread over her face…this was going to be fun…
--
The man stepped out of the yellow taxicab and looked up at the house before him.
“You sure this is the place” the driver asked confused. He didn’t feel all that comfortable with leaving a strange man outside a house this late.
“Yes” the man smiled as he paid the driver.
As the taxi drove away the man moved up the steps towards the front door. He walked up to the door and slid a small black instrument out of his pocket. He stuck it in the lock and after just a few seconds he heard the door open. He smiled to himself as he placed it back in his pocket and stepped inside.
He moved down the hallway quietly and looked around; he had never pictured the house to be so big…not that he complained though.
He walked up the stairs after figuring out there’s where they must be. He tried not to make the stairs make too much sound but some small cracks was still heard…
--
Prue walked out from the bathroom and heard a small noise from her sister’s room. She opened up the door and peeked inside to make sure Piper was okay but the sight she saw made her freeze in her tracks.
“Who are you” she asked and looked at the ghost who looked up at the woman.
“The one to make your sister’s life a living hell” the woman sneered and then leaped up before Prue could move and the ghost disappeared into Prue’s body making her shake and seconds later fall to the floor.
--
The man slammed his body to the wall and held his breath as the woman with long black hair passed him, only inches away. When she walked into the bedroom he hurried down the hall hoping she wouldn’t see him.
He opened the next door and peeked inside at the two sleeping forms in the big bed. He smiled and closed the door now with him on the inside. He walked over to the first side and looked down at the sleeping woman, a smile crept over his face and he had to keep his hands behind his back to resist the urge to wake her up.
He looked at the light brown hair as she slowly turned around, still sound asleep but now with her face to him. He couldn’t help but reach out only to let his fingers trace her lips a few millimeters away from them, how he wanted to kiss them one more time.
He resisted the urge and walked around the bed to the other sleeping form. The much small one. He smiled as he saw how she held her teddy bear in a tight grip, the bear he had given her just a few weeks earlier.
As he stood there the girls slowly started to stir and before he could move her hazel eyes opened and widened as she saw him.
“Daddy” she said happily and smiled as she got out of bed and jumped into his arms.

Chapter 9 - The morning after
When Phoebe woke up the next morning and turned around she found the bed empty on her daughter’s side. She pulled herself up and started to collect some clothes but as she started to get dressed she got this bad feeling. She turned around but there was no one there, still she could have sworn she had felt his eyes on her…but that was impossible.
She finished getting dressed and got her hair fixed and then she walked out of her room. She was on her way towards the stairs but some sounds from her oldest sister’s room made her stop and go and check it out.
She walked in to find Prue in front of the full length mirror with a smug smile on her face. Around her on the floor lay a whole bunch of clothes that had not fitted her mood, only the strange thing was what Prue was actually wearing. The black leather pants looked like a second skin on her and the short red top showed off her flat stomach nicely.
“Uhm Prue honey” Phoebe said carefully as she moved further into the room and Prue spun around quickly.
“Yes” she said with a questioning look on her face.
“Well nice outfit” Phoebe said with a smile.
“Thanks” Prue did a small twirl. “You think he’ll like it?” she asked and suddenly it all became clear to Phoebe.
“Oh you mean Andy” Phoebe grinned. “So you decided to talk to him?”
“Uhm…yeah Andy” Prue said quietly but the answer seemed to fit her sister.
“That is good, he deserves that” Phoebe said. “Anyway we should get down for breakfast” she added.
“Yeah” Prue nodded and followed her sister but not before she sent one look at the mirror and the shocked look of the woman inside…
--
“Morning” Daisy cheered as Paige walked into the kitchen.
“Mor…” Paige stopped dead in her tracks as she saw the man in the room, making Henry who was walking behind her walk into her back. “Who’s that?” She asked ignoring Henry mumbling something about hitting his toe.
“That’s daddy” Daisy grinned.
“Daddy” Paige said and looked at the man. His perfect blond hair that went in waves over his head and those blue eyes that hit hers.
“Hi” he rose from the chair. “I’m Keith, Daisy’s dad and Phoebe’s boyfriend” he said with a smile.
“Oh” Paige said.
“So who wants breakfast…” Piper said as she walked into the room, she too stopping in her tracks.
“I do” Daisy smiled.
“Who’re you?” Piper asked and looked at the man.
“That is Day’s dad” Paige whispered.
“Oh” Piper said.
“Breakfast” Daisy said.
“Yes right” Piper moved over to the stove and started it up. Only the second she touch it with her hand large sparks came out throwing her to the floor.
“Piper are you alright?” Paige jumped up and sat down at her sister’s side on the floor.
“That was not supposed to happen” Piper said and waved her finger towards the stove. “Was that supposed to happen?” she asked and looked at her younger sister.
“No” Paige shook her head. “How are you feeling?” she added.
“Like I was electrocuted” Piper answered.
“Okay, come on” Paige rose and pulled her sister up with her. “How about you sit down, okay?” she moved Piper over to a chair that Henry quickly pulled out.
“Okay” Piper said and sunk down on the chair just as Prue and Phoebe walked in.
“What happened to you?” Phoebe asked as her eyes landed on Piper.
“Mommy looks who’s here” Daisy called and made Phoebe look up at her daughter and Keith.
“What are you doing here?” Phoebe asked, her voice no longer happy…it was cold like ice.
“Just came to see you sweetheart” he added with a smile.
“Get out!” Phoebe said.
“NO!” Daisy jumped up in front of her daddy. “He came to see me, he loves me. You just get that because you’re not a good person” she grabbed hold of her daddy’s hand.
“Daisy” Phoebe said sternly but the girl did not budge.
“You want him out I am going with him” the young girl stated.
Phoebe just stood there shocked, not sure what to do. She watched the look on his face, how he smirked at her, he knew he had won. And she looked at her daughter’s face, how she had that look her grams had so often had…she was not bending down.
“So what happened to you?” Prue asked and tired to keep her laugh hidden as she looked at Piper.
“My stove attacked me” Piper muttered.
“Really?” Prue couldn’t help but smile.
Just then Leo walked into the room and Prue’s eyes immediately fell on him. She smiled to herself and couldn’t help but feel like he was even more handsome then the last time she had seen him.
“I’m hungry” Daisy stated as she walked up next to Piper.
“Right” Piper sighed and looked around the kitchen where everyone looked like they wanted to just disappear. “We’re eating out.”
--
“So that was weird” Henry said as he sat down on the small sofa in the observatory.
“You haven’t seen anything yet” Paige laughed but as she met his confused look she stopped. “Just trust me; this family tends to live on the weird side.”
“So…” Henry said suddenly turning serious. “How are you?”
“I’m good” Paige said but she could feel how his eyes went by that lie. “Okay so maybe not so good” she confessed.
“That’s understandable” Henry said. “What we went through was tough on anyone.”
“Yeah well I should have done better” Paige said without really thinking.
“Are you kidding me, you did everything you could” Henry turned slightly on the sofa so he was facing her. He took both her hands on his and just held them.
“I could have done more” Paige said and slightly shook her head. “Maybe if I had been faster or maybe if we had not gone that night…” she started but Henry cut her off.
“Hey…” he dropped her hands and pulled her into a hug instead. He held her close and slowly stoked her hair. “…there was nothing anyone could have done, you know that.”
Paige moved closer to his chest and didn’t even fight as tears started to fall. “I know…sometimes I just wish life wasn’t this unfair.”
--
In the meantime in one of the other rooms of the house Phoebe and Keith was finally alone. She was standing by the wall in her bed room while Keith had taken a seat on the bed.
“Why are you here?” she asked.
“I came to get you and my daughter back” he answered coldly. “You left without so much as a note; did you really expect me to just stay off?”
“You know why I left” she shot back, regretting it as soon as the words left her mouth. She saw his eyes widen and how his fists slowly curled together in his lap.
“You know what” he rose form his seat and moved towards her only to stop a few inches away. “You don’t get to leave okay?” he starred her into the eyes and she soon looked away. “She is my daughter too. I don’t give a damn about you…but she is not leaving me ever again” he said angrily.
“Okay” Phoebe nodded as tears fell down her face. She could feel him looking at her buts she refused to look at him so she kept her eyes on the floor.
“You better understand this time” Keith grabbed a handful of her long hair and pulled it until she was looking at him again. He pressed his lips against her but she fought to get away.
After he finally stepped back, still with a grip on her hair he pushed her onto the bed where she fell together in tears.
“You’re not worth it anymore” he said and grabbed his jacket. “Oh and I am taking MY daughter out…” he added and then left the room with Phoebe shaking as the sobs escaped her…
--
Just a wall away Prue was once again standing in front of her mirror. In the blank surface she could see the old Prue starring back at her.
“You’re not getting away with this Lily” the real Prue said.
“Oh yes dear Prue” she smiled. “You see I am already getting away with it and before anyone knows that husband will be mine again” she added and walked away from the mirror but just as she turned around in the door she added. “Just as soon as I get rid of that sister of yours that is…” and so she left the room, the reflection in the mirror slowly fading into nothing.

Chapter 10 - Hidden possessions
Days passed and the manor was quieter then it had been since they moved in. Prue was off on something for her new job, Daisy had a play date with the girl next door and her dad was with her. Paige and Henry were out as well, leaving only Phoebe and Piper home as Leo was off on his whitelighter duty.
“This is depressing” Piper stated as she flopped her body down on the couch in front of the fireplace. The warm fire was heating the room nicely as the storm was raging outside.
“What is?” Phoebe asked as she looked up from behind her book. She was lying on the other couch, tucked in with a blanket and a few pillows resting under her head.
“My whole house is against me” Piper mumbled as she pulled another blanket around her body.
“What happened this time?” Phoebe turned and lifted herself up on an elbow so she could look at her sister.
“The fridge closed itself on my hand” the older of the two answered ad held up her slightly red left hand.
“Really?” Phoebe tried not to laugh but she did let out a small giggle instead.
“Not funny” Piper stated.
“So any ideas why your kitchen turned against you?” Phoebe asked.
“No” Piper shook her head. “Maybe it could be supernatural?” she suggested making Phoebe raise an eyebrow at her. “What?”
“No it’s just….” Phoebe tried to pick her words right. “You were just never the first one to call witch you know.”
“I know” Piper sighed. “But what else could it be? I don’t know what else it could be and its driving me nuts.”
“Okay” Phoebe put her book together and laid it on the table as she figured she wouldn’t get to read anymore. “You wanna check the book?” she asked.
“The book?” Piper asked a bit confused. “Oh you mean grams book…”
“Yep” Phoebe crawled out of the couch and rose with a slight groan.
“What’s wrong?” Piper hurried to ask as she too got up.
“Oh nothing” Phoebe hurried to say but Piper was faster as she lifted her younger sisters shirt a bit to see the big black bruise on her lower back.
“What happened to you?” she gasped.
“I fell down some stairs a few days ago” Phoebe laughed slightly. “You know me always being the clouts…”
“Yeah” Piper said not fully believing it. “So where is the book?” she asked.
“The attic” Phoebe said and watched as Piper moved towards the stairs but she did soon turn around again.
“Are you sure you’re okay?” Piper asked.
“I’m fine” Phoebe put on a smile as she followed her sister. But as Piper moved before her up the stairs she added quietly to herself… “Always the clouts….”
--
Soon after Piper and Phoebe had disappeared up the stairs towards the attic Prue walked in through the front door. She closed it quietly and hung her jacket up on the rack in the hallway and then continued into the kitchen.
“This is taking too damn long” she slammed her hand at the table, making the bowl of fruit shake a little.
She turned around, trying to clear her head. She needed to think…she needed a plan. But before she could find one out Leo orbed into the room. He gave her a smile and grabbed an apple and sat down at the table.
“So how was work?” he asked nicely.
“Same old same old” Prue muttered.
“You started yesterday” Leo said looking a bit confused at her. “How can it be same old same old already? Plus you love it, don’t you?”
“Yeah sure, whatever” Prue sat down on the chair next to him. “So how was your day” she asked and turned on her best smile.
“It was okay, had to deal with a charge who was afraid to orb…which was kind of funny” he said laughing slightly at the fresh memory.
“Soooo….what are you reading” Prue leaned up as his eyes were in the morning paper on the table.
“Something about a shooting somewhere….” Leo said.
“Really, that’s…interesting” she leaned closer until he could feel her warm breath against his neck.
“Prue what are you doing?” he asked, his voice slightly showing fear as he moved a bit away.
“What we both want…” she said quietly and pressed her lips against his.
“PRUE!” he jumped back off the chair only to land on the floor.
“Why do you men have to fight so much” Prue sighed and got off her chair towards him.
“What is wrong with you?” Leo asked as she slid over the floor with his eyes at her.
“Oh Leo darling” Prue laughed. “I would have thought you had figured it out by now.”
“Figure out what?” Leo asked.
“The flowers on the table” Prue pointed at the white roses. “The looks, the talks…the perfume” she continued and leaned down towards him so the thick perfume hit him.
He froze for a few seconds before he scrambled to his feet and placed his back to the wall to get away from her.
“But how?” he asked.
“Death is just another step” she whispered as she pressed her body up to his. She slid her fingers over his shin, smiling sweetly.
“Lily” he whispered but then shook his head. “You’re dead, you can not be here” he added but he did actually do little resistance as she kissed him again.
They both broke apart as the kitchen door opened and Andy walked inside.
“Andy” Leo gasped as he saw the angry look on the man’s face. “I can explain.”
“Aren’t you married?” Andy asked and shot Leo an evil look.
“She’s possessed” Leo exclaimed.
“Oh nice one, never heard that before” Andy replied and turned around to leave the room.
“Well I am being honest here” Leo cried. “She is possessed with my dead wife” he added which made Andy stop in his tracks and turn around.
“Seriously?” he asked.
“Wow is he slow” Prue muttered and jumped up so she was sitting on the counter, crossing her legs. “Now what are you doing, call an exorcist…that is so last century.”
“What are you doing?” Andy asked Leo. “Telling Piper?”
“Oh please do” Prue begged. “I would love to see her face when you say you made out with her sister who is possessed with your dead wife she knows nothing about….that would be such a Kodak moment.”
“We’re screwed” Leo sighed.
--
“I can’t believe she kept all these” Piper said as she flipped through the pages in the large book of shadows. The old spells she had been taught from early childhood were all there.
“Yeah so do we have any clue on what we are looking for?” Phoebe asked from her position with the old potion bottles, some which were still filled.
“Well I was thinking either a invisible demon, a hex or maybe a ghost” Piper mumbled.
“A ghost” Phoebe giggled. “You mean like see through and evil from the other side?”
“They are in the book” Piper spun the book around and showed her sister who stopped giggling.
“You have to die to kill it” she said.
“Yeah I know” Piper said.
“So keep looking, it’s probably some kind of hex or demons any way” Phoebe said.
“HONEY!” they heard Leo call and they both hurried to their feet.
Piper was out the door while Phoebe grabbed hold of the wall to stand straight as pain shot through her back. She slowly followed hoping no fighting would be involved.
“What is going on?” Piper asked as she found Leo hanging on the wall from two well placed knives in his shirt.
“Oh well there she is” Prue smiled as she spun another knife between her fingers. “The pregnant dog who stole my husband…” and before Piper could say anything the knife cane soaring through the air at her…

Chapter 11 - By your last breath
”Piper” Phoebe called just a second before Piper threw her hands out and froze the knife, just inches away from her body.
“Great help sis” Piper said and looked at Phoebe as she made her way down the stairs.
“Well it helped” Phoebe said as she caught up with Piper on the landing half way down.
“Is this how you charmed ones always work…” Prue let out a yawn. “I could have killed you already” she set another knife soaring, this time it landed on the wall right beside Leo’s face.
“Okay guys, now would be a good time to do something” Leo said, his voice filled with fear as he starred at the shiny knife.
“Okay” Piper threw her hands out to freeze Prue. But as she couldn’t freeze witches Prue fell forward and hit the floor, not moving.
“Oh” Phoebe said as she looked at the frozen transparent woman who slowly worked her way out of the freeze.
“Witches” Lily sneered as she jumped up, her form slamming into Paige as she walked into the room with Henry close behind.
“What happened?” Henry asked shocked as Paige suddenly pushed him aside.
“Step back” Paige said, and made his body hit the wall until he was not moving.
“Okay one sister fine…” Piper moved down the steps. “But if you think you can possess two of my sisters you think wrong…” she didn’t use her powers this time but placed one hand on each of Paige’s shoulders and slammed her into the wall. “Now you get out of my sister’s body or you’re dead.”
“I am ready am” Paige said back and Piper felt her body tumbled backwards as Paige pushed her.
“So who is the ghost?” Phoebe asked Leo as she pulled out one of the knives.
“Lily, my ex wife” Leo answered, making Phoebe stop.
“You’re what?”
“Ex wife” Leo sighed.
“You were married to her?” Piper asked as she looked up from her position on the floor where Paige was moving closer.
“Later” Leo said as he tried to get down to help.
“Yeah later” Paige smiled and before anyone could move she dissolved in a rain of blue orbs.
“Damn she got away” Piper cried as she rose on her feet.
“Down anyone?” Leo asked as he looked from Piper to Phoebe.
“Don’t you dare” Piper said and gave Phoebe an evil look before she walked over and sat down next to Prue’s body which was still on the floor. “Prue, sweetie…” she turned her older sister around and checked her pulse.
“She okay?” Phoebe asked as she walked down the rest of the stairs.
Just then Prue started to cough and her eyes opened. She looked around the room and her eyes landed on Piper.
“What happened?” she asked.
“You were possessed by a ghost” Piper answered as if it was the most natural thing in the world.
“Did you get her….Lily I mean?” Prue asked as she slowly sat up. She heard footsteps behind her and turned to see Andy walking into the room with Daisy holding his hand.
“She stole Paige’s body and escaped” Phoebe answered and gave her sister a hand to get back up again which Prue happily took.
Prue brushed the dust off her black skirt and for a split second her eyes met Leo’s. She looked away quickly and by that she stood face to face with Piper. “Oh my God Piper…” she said.
“What?” Piper asked; her heart stopping as she saw the look on her sister’s face. “What’s wrong?”
“I’m so sorry” Prue said and took her sister’s hand in hers. “It wasn’t me, it was Lily.”
“Okay Prue you’re scaring me now” Piper said. “What did Lily do?”
“Yes Prue, what did Lily do?” Andy joined in as he leaned on the doorpost. He said Lily with such power it was obvious he was not all convinced it was not Prue.
“She was in my body” Prue said. “She controlled me, all I could do was stand back and watch, she was so much stronger then me…”
“Damn it Prue what did you do?” Piper asked, her voice rising in anger.
“She kissed me” Leo said, he was still hanging on the wall, strapped up by two knives.
“She what?” Piper looked from him to Prue.
“It was Lily” Prue said. “I’m so sorry, you know I would never do anything like that to you” she added.
“I know” Piper said and smiled at Prue. There after she moved through the room and gave Leo one angry look. “You however are another question” and she continued up the stairs. She stopped halfway up and turned to look at the others. “And don’t you dare take him down…” she added before she walked up the stairs.
--
“So that was one weird day” Andy tried to laugh as he followed Prue into the living room.
“Why are you here Andy?” she asked without even turning around to look at him. Instead she moved around the room, stopping at the fireplace, letting her fingers trace the contours of the images.
“Daisy let me in” he answered as he stopped by the book shelf and just watched her. “And I came to talk to you.”
“That went to great last time” she said as she stopped, her fingers landed on the empty space in the row….one picture was missing.
“I wanted to apologize” Andy said.
“So do that….” Prue was just listening half as she sunk down to the floor and started to pick up the photo on the floor. “How did this end up there?” she asked to herself as she looked at it.
“The wind?” Andy suggested.
“Maybe” Prue turned around and placed the broken photo on the fireplace next to the others. “I took that photo you know” she added with a smile.
“I remember” Andy said as he moved close enough so he could see which one it was. “You were wearing that pink dress and you had roses in your hair…and those pink stars” he said and she smiled.
“You remember that?” she asked and turned so she was standing face to face with him.
“I remember everything about you” he said quietly. “I remember how you always smelled like flowers after you took a shower. Or how you always used to let your fingertips trace my neck before you kissed me…” he said and smiled as he moved closer. “I love you so I remember all those things…”
“So how did Susan’s hair smell?” Prue asked; her eyes on the floor as she could feel him tense up and take a step back.
“Do you have to bring her up?” he asked, his voice doing noting to hide his anger.
“You chose her over me so yeah I do” Prue walked around him towards the door, she didn’t want him to see her tears.
“That’s your thing isn’t it?” He called out and she stopped without turning around. “You run, you’re a runner. When things get tough you run away to hide form your problems…” he continued.
“I run…” Prue said and tried to keep her voice as steady as possible as she spoke, still without turning around. “But if that’s my thing then I know what your thing is. You don’t run, you stay but not to deal with things. You hide them away, brush them under your tough armor and pretend they don’t exist. We both hide away, we both are too scared to deal with real problems…but guess what…” she slowly turned around to look at him. “That’s not enough. That’s not enough to build a life on and it’s definitely not enough to use as an apology….” She said before she turned around and walked out of the room, leaving Andy alone...

Chapter 12 - Running with scissors
“Prue” Phoebe called as she knocked on her sister’s door.
“What?” The older sister spat back as she turned to face Phoebe.
“We need to find Paige and get her de-possessed” Phoebe said as if it was something very obvious.
“It won’t kill her” Prue muttered. “Who knows they might turn out to be friends.”
“Prudence, now you get on your shoes and come with me” Phoebe said sternly, not taking her eyes of Prue for a second.
“Fine” Prue got up from her chair and walked after her sister. They made it to the stairs before something dawned on Prue. “Hey isn’t Piper coming?”
“She needs to deal with Leo” Phoebe said.
“So who took him down?” Prue asked with a small smile on her face, maybe this was good for her after all…maybe she needed to get her mind off Andy.
“He orbed” Phoebe said making Prue gasp slightly.
“He is so dead.”
“I know” Phoebe nodded. “So you still wanna stay here?”
“No” Prue said as she hurried down the stairs. There she waited as Phoebe moved a bit slower. “Why are you playing robot?” she asked.
“What?” Phoebe asked confused.
“You move like you’re a robot” Prue said with a slight giggle. “Either that or someone beat you up” she added with a laugh as Phoebe reached the bottom of the stairs.
“I fell” Phoebe answered and directed her eyes at the floor as she walked past her sister.
“You fell?” Prue asked, she remained still on her spot for a second before she hurried her Phoebe.
--
“And this is my teddy, auntie Piper gave him to me” Daisy said and smiled up at her dad as they were seated on the floor in the sun room.
“Its nice” Keith said with a nod.
“His name is Gus” Daisy said and hugged the brown bear to her chest.
“Gus is a sweet name” Keith said. “So you like it here?” he added and watched how the young girl let go of the bear and seemed to think for a while before she gave him her answer.
“I like it here” Daisy stated. “But if you like New York then I will too…” she added.
“So you would want to go back to New York with me?” he asked.
“Would mommy come too?” the four year old asked as she got up from the floor and walked the few steps over to her daddy. She tilted her head slightly as she watched him, waiting for him to answer her.
“I don’t know if she would come” Keith answered.
“But you like it here?” Daisy asked.
“Sure” Keith said.
“Mommy likes it here too” Daisy stated. “So you stay and mommy will like you again” she added with a smile.
“I don’t know sweetie” Keith sighed but as he saw the look on his daughter’s face he put on a small smile. “But we can try…” he pulled her down in his lap and started to tickle her until she was giggling like crazy.
He liked the diversion, it was easier that telling her the truth on why her mommy couldn’t go with them when they left….
--
“You sure this is it?” Phoebe asked as she stepped out of her sister’s car outside an old apartment building.
“Of course I am right” Prue stated as she too stepped out and slammed the car door shut. “Am I ever wrong?” she asked but didn’t wait for an answer before she hurried up the street to the building.
“What is up with the running lately” Phoebe sighed and followed as fast as her poor body could take.
Soon they were both standing outside the door to apartment 2A. The green door was probably locked; they didn’t want to try as they needed the upper hand.
“Ready?” Prue asked and Phoebe nodded, not really sure if she was or not. “Okay, on three…” Prue said. “…1….2….” she looked over at her sister.
“…3…” they said together and Prue flung her hand out making the door fly open with a bang.
The second the door opened Prue and Phoebe jumped into the room and Paige jumped up from the couch where she had been sitting.
“Oh yay it’s the sister witches” she said and did a fake yawn to show how scared she was.
“You get out my baby sister” Prue said angrily and raised her hands.
“Oh you want me back” Paige snickered.
“I said get the hell away” Prue used her powers to try and move Paige but nothing happened.
“Okay why didn’t that work?” Phoebe asked confused. “It worked with Piper’s powers…and you’re the oldest, your powers are stronger.”
“Yeah” Prue said and looked over at Paige who was just laughing.
“You see ladies, I learned a thing and two from our last meeting” she said with an evil smile. “You don’t think I would fall for the same trick again, did you?”
“Kinda yeah” Phoebe laughed nervously as she looked over at Prue. “What do we do now?”
“Well it was YOUR idea to de-possess Paige without Piper” Prue shot back.
“Okay” Phoebe thought for a few moments. “There was something in the book that only a ghost could kill a ghost” she finally confessed.
“Oh well I am so not dying” Prue shot back. “So keep looking for another option.”
“How about we do like this” Paige suddenly orbed a sharp knife to her hand and soon it was flying through the air towards them.
“Duck” Prue grabbed her sister and pulled them both to the floor.
“Okay that pregnant dog” Prue mumbled as she got up and grabbed the knife that was now stuck in the wall behind them.
“I am done playing nice” Phoebe groaned as she slowly got up, her whole body aching from the hard floors.
“Me too” Prue threw her hands out with such power she knocked Paige off her feet, leaving her on the floor while the ghost of Lily hit the wall on the other side of the room.
Before Prue or Phoebe could do something Lily rose up and then just disappeared.
“Did we just loose her again?” Phoebe cried angrily.
“Yeah well at least she didn’t possess any of us” Prue said as she sunk down next to Paige. “Paige sweetie are you okay?”
“Yeah” Paige answered tiredly as she moved to get up. “Where is she? Did you get her?” she looked fro Prue to Phoebe. “Oh come on don’t tell me you lost her again…”
--
Leo was just sitting down on the bed in his and Piper’s bed room when Lily appeared from out of nowhere, her transparent body flowing a few inches above the floor.
“Lily” he gasped as he saw her. “Why are you here? What happened to Paige?”
“The witch is fine” Lily rolled her eyes. “I’m here to see you” she added and placed her un-solid form on the bed next to him.
“Lily I moved on” Leo said. “I love Piper now and we can not be together.”
“Can you really say what we had was not better then what ever you have with this witch?” Lily asked. He could hear on her voice that she was hurt.
“Yeah I can” Leo said and looked at her. “What we had was amazing but Piper is my soul mate” he added.
“You sure?” Lily asked quietly.
“Yes, now you need to let go. Heaven will be peaceful for you” he said and leaned up, placing a kiss where her chin was barely visible. And as he sat there the woman he had once loved disappeared until there was only air left beside him. He couldn’t help but feel a tug at his heart and small tears threatened to break out. It really was true, he had once loved Lily more then he thought he could ever love anyone…
--
Prue, Paige and Phoebe walked into the manor not long after. Prue moved into the kitchen for something to eat while Paige headed to her room for some well deserved rest, leaving Phoebe alone.
She was heading for the stairs when she saw him. He was standing in the doorway to the living room and she heard Daisy singing one of her made up silly songs in the sun room. Other then that it was all quiet.
“So how did things go with your sister?” Keith asked.
“Good” Phoebe answered shortly.
“We should talk” he said as he grabbed her arm in a firm grip and dragged her out of the house.
Once they were outside he moved her into the small patch of grass on the side of the house where no one would see them.
“What do you want?” she asked, her voice was now trembling.
“I need you gone” Keith answered as he let go of her and soon his hands found the baseball bat. His fingers closed around it and he swung it through the air, hitting her with full force and her body fell limb onto the ground.
She had never seen it coming…they never did…

Chapter 13 - Diary of Daisy
She walked down the bright corridor. Her small hand was placed in her dad’s and her shoes made small noises that soon drowned in the sounds of the people around them. Her aunts were walking behind her and no one said a word. But they didn’t need to, it was like no words needed to be said. The silence spoke for them…
She felt her daddy stop and she looked up at him. His eyes were focused on the glass window before them and she tried to see in but it was too high up. She grabbed the small edge by the window and pulled herself up on her toes and she could see in a little. She could see the bed where a woman was lying. She could see the long brown hair spread out of the pillow and she could see the machines around her.
She had to fight the tears away, that was not her mommy. Her mommy was up and running, always joking and with a smile on her face…this was not her.
She stepped back and let go of her daddy’s hand. He looked down at her surprised as she continued to take steps backwards, away from the window, away from the woman that was not her mommy.
“Daisy” he said but she just shook her head.
“No” she stated. “That’s not my mommy” she added and turned around. She ran as fast as her small legs would carry her, away from everything she didn’t want to face.
She stopped once she was outside of the hospital. She sat down on one of the benches on the grass and just sat there. She didn’t want to cry and she didn’t want to scream…so she just sat there.
“You mind if I sit down?” she looked up to see her aunt standing beside the bench. She didn’t answer but simply shrugged her shoulders.
Prue took that as a yes and sat down beside her niece on the bench. She didn’t say anything, she simply sat there. She knew she had to wait it out…she knew this all too well. And as she thought Daisy did indeed start to talk.
“That is not my mommy” she said quietly. “My mommy is not like that. She is not lying in a bed like that. She is happy, smiling and always playing…”
“I know its hard sweetie” Prue said. “But your mommy will get better. The doctors said she will be just fine” she didn’t mention how close her sister had actually been to death. She was just happy that this miracle happened….that her sister would be okay. She still didn’t believe what had happened, how some stranger could have come and beat her up…she was just happy Keith had found her. “You know why I know she will be fine though?” Prue continued.
“No why?” Daisy asked and looked up at her aunt.
“Because she loves you. There is never a bound as strong as the one between a mother and a child” Prue said with a smile.
“So how could you give your child away?” the question the four year old asked was so simple yet to Prue it was heart shattering…
--
Half an hour later she had made sure Daisy was with Piper and Paige in the hospital cafeteria and she was in her car. She didn’t know why she was doing it, she just knew that this was something she had to do.
She stopped her car at the parking lot but instead of getting out she just sat there. The melodies of a song she had never heard before escaped through the radio. She let her eyes go up and out through the window, she could see the grass and the gate to the park. Beyond that she saw kids playing and even a dog was there running around.
She started questioning why she was really there, was it because she wanted to prove Andy wrong? Was it to prove herself right? Or was it because that niece of hers actually had a point?
She opened the door up after she turned the radio off and she stepped out. With slow steps she walked though the gate and into the park. She heard the laughter from some of the older kids as they played soccer on the big lap of grass but she kept walking. She followed the path down to the other side of the park…she knew he was here. She had said a spell and she knew he was here, she just didn’t know if she was ready to see him…
She was almost about to turn around when she saw him. He was sitting on the swing, and a woman was pushing him while he laughed and cried “higher, higher.”
She knew it was him, there was not even a question about it. the dark raven hair, the laugher, the smile, his nose…everything. He looked just like Andy had at that age…there was no questing he was her son.
She sat down on the bench behind her and just watched. She watched for signs that she didn’t want to see. She watched as the woman picked him up and spun him around. How he wrapped his tiny arms around her neck, hugging her. All these signs hurt her…but she knew that’s what she wanted for him. She wanted him to be loved, she just wished he would never love his new mommy as mush as her.
“You know Dylan?” Prue snapped out of her thinking and turned around. She hadn’t even notice the woman sitting down next to her.
“I guess you could say that” Prue answered.
“He really is a sweetheart” the woman said and smiled as she looked at the boy. “”I’m Annie by the way, I’m mother to his friend” she added and showed for Prue to look at the girl Dylan was now helping building something in the sand.
“They are sweet together” Prue said with a smile.
“Yeah, it’s just so sad about Dylan, don’t you think?” the woman asked.
“What do you mean?” Prue asked, suddenly filled with a bad feeling.
“Oh you don’t know?” the woman sounded surprised. She took a deep breath and looked over at the two kids playing. “Maybe I shouldn’t tell you this but…”
--
The hospital room was darker this time as the small girl was escorted inside. Both hands were held by her aunts, one on each side. She looked up at the bed and stopped. She just froze on the spot.
“Sweetie its okay” Piper said but Daisy refused to move.
She wanted to run again but suddenly one voice was heard behind her.
“I knew you would make it” she spun around to see Prue standing in the doorway.
Prue walked over and picked her niece up. She placed her on her hip and the girl laid her head on her shoulder.
“I can’t…” Daisy whispered.
“If I could you can” she said and Daisy looked up confused. “I saw him, so now will see you mommy” she added with a smile and walked over to the bed. She let the girl sit down on the bedside.
Prue stepped back to her sisters and they all watched how Daisy slowly moved a stray of hair out of her mother’s face only to then nestle down next to her. She placed a kiss on her mommy’s check before she moved as close to her as she could.
“You did good” Piper said and smiled at Prue.
“Yeah she’s special” Prue smiled but her smile faded as her eyes moved to Phoebe in the bed. “How could we have let this happen to her?”
“I don’t know” Paige sighed as she saw Keith walking towards the room. “But for some reason I have a feeling he is not so innocent in all of this…”

Chapter 14 - And it hits me
She used to laugh at people who said they were a place without their will. So now she was conflicted as she found herself standing outside his door, she didn’t want to knock but she knew she had to.
Her hand hit the wood fast, as if she wished it wouldn’t even be heard. That way she could go home and pretend it never happened…but no such luck as the door opened.
“Hi” He said surprise as he saw who it was. “What are you doing here?”
“Can we talk?” Prue asked but didn’t wait for a response before she pushed her way past him and into the apartment.
“Sure why don’t you come in” Andy said sarcastically as he closed the door and followed her into the living room.
He was about to off her something to drink or eat, to be the perfect host. But as he saw her face more clearly, the pale skin, the red eyes and eve the faint marks of tears he stopped. He felt more like just taking her in his arms and hold her, make whatever it was go away.
“I saw him today” she confessed.
“Saw who?” Andy asked.
“Dylan” Prue said quietly. She could see how he understood, the color going away from his face as well and he sat down on the couch.
“How was he?” he asked, his voice was slow and quiet now.
“He was very happy…with his nanny” Prue said, adding the last part a bit more to herself then to him.
“He has a nanny, wow that’s cool” Andy said.
“No it’s not cool” Prue shot back, fighting more tears. She didn’t want to cry though…she didn’t want that because if she did she wasn’t sure she would be able to get back up again.
“Why not?” Andy asked and looked closer at her. He got up and walked over to her, starring her straight in the eyes. “What aren’t you telling me?” he asked clearly.
Prue didn’t answer but tried to move away. Andy however blocked her way and forced her to look at him.
“Talk to me Prue” he said. “You’re scaring me when you act like this.”
“He has a nanny because his parents…” Prue started slowly. “…they don’t spend time with him, it’s like he’s not even there…”
“Oh…” Andy found himself in a loss for words. What was he even to say?
“This was not how it was supposed to be” Prue suddenly cried as tears started to fall down her cheeks. “He was supposed to go to a good home; with loving parents and a lot of toys…this was not the plan…” by now Andy knew what to do. He wrapped his arms around her and pulled her close to him. He expected for her to rip his head of but instead she nestled closer to him.
“Where did this go so wrong?” she asked quietly. “…where did we go wrong…?”
--
“What are you doing?” Piper asked as she sat down at the small table in the observatory where Paige had the book of shadows open.
“Looking for Keith” Paige answered simply making Piper more then a bit speechless.
“He is in the kitchen Paige” she finally managed to say. “And that is a book of demons, not mortals” she added.
“Well maybe I have a feeling that mortal is a demon is disguise” Paige mumbled as she turned the page. “…oh I hope it’s not him” she added with a slightly disgusted face.
“What?” Piper asked and looked at the page showing a picture of a green very ugly looking demon. “Okay you are just trying to get me off the subject” Piper added.
“Well I just have this bad feeling around him” Paige said and looked up from the book. “This is where bad feelings always used to take me.”
“Look we all dislike him” Piper said. “But he is Phoebe’s problem, she can handle herself.”
“I know” Paige sighed. “I just have this feeling that she needs help, you know.”
“If she did she would ask” Piper stated.
“What if it’s too late and he is turning her into a demon?” Paige joked.
“Then she would try and kill us…don’t tell me you have forgotten about when Prue got turned evil?” Piper said with a smile.
“How could I, I still have a scar from where she tried to hit me with that electricity power” Paige laughed. “I loved how she burned grams chair though.”
“Oh yes we all loved that” Piper laughed. “…well except maybe grams…okay once again you are dragging me off the subject” Piper said. “Now why are you so convinced he must be a demon, humans can be creeps too you know.”
“Oh trust me I know that” Paige said. Images slowly flashing before her eyes but she pushed them away. She had to focus on this; she didn’t need to feel anything else.
“So will you get the book out of here before he sees it, please?” Piper added more quietly.
“Fine” Paige closed the book and stuffed it under her arm as she stood up. “But if he comes back as a demon to kill us, I am not saving you” she added before she proceeded to leave the room.
“”Yeah well right back at you” Piper said just as Keith came in, blocking Paige’s way out.
“Hi ladies” he said. “What are you talking about?” he asked as he moved past Paige and sat down at the table.
“Nothing” Paige answered as she slid the book onto the floor and sent it in under the bookshelf with a kick of her foot.
“Just Phoebe” Piper added. “You know how sad it is that she got attacked, I mean that things like that even happen here these days.”
“I know” he said sadly. “Thank God she is okay.”
“Yeah” Paige looked at him closely; she couldn’t shake the feeling that he was sorry about something different. Maybe even he was sorry she was okay?
“So…” Piper said and started to tap her fingers at the table. If ever that was a time she wished the floor would open up and swallow her this was it.
“Where is Daisy?” Paige asked.
“Upstairs” Keith answered and Paige hurried off leaving her older sister alone.
“So…how are you today?” Keith smiled at Piper.
“Seriously” Piper muttered and flicked her wrist, making him freeze in his chair. “Well there goes her demon theory.”
She knew she should unfreeze him to keep him from finding out, or that anyone came in and saw him. But the thought of him not being able to talk or even look at her appealed to her so much more…
--
Paige walked into her niece’s bed room to find her sitting on the large bed. She looked so sad on that big bed all alone.
“Hey sweetie, how are you?” Paige asked and walked into the room.
“I miss this” Daisy said and looked up from the small photo album in her lap.
“What’s that?” Paige sat down next to her niece on the bed.
“It’s my photo album” Daisy answered. “Mommy didn’t want me to bring it but I did” she added.
“Can I see?” Paige asked and the small girl handed the album over to her aunt. “They are very nice pictures” Paige said as she flipped through it. It stroke her how perfect each picture looked, but one thing was always the same. Keith was always there, never letting Phoebe out of his looks. It gave her that bad feeling again, the one she didn’t know how to place.
“They were happy there” Daisy said quietly as she snuggled up to her aunt. “I miss that…now mommy is just so angry and sad.”
“I know sweetie, but she will be happy again” Paige said, and she knew that was a promise she would not rest until it came true…

Chapter 15 - Some scars never fade
”I’m sorry” she felt more like a broken record for every time she said.
“I know” Henry sighed. “Give it a rest.”
“But I am…sorry” Paige said as she sat down on the bed in her room. “I don’t know how or what happened….” She sighed. “…or actually I do” she added and he looked up.
“And I am guessing this whole rambling is your way of telling me you want to tell me everything” Henry said. “There is nothing you can say that explains me being shoved to the floor, knocked out by your sister only to wake up hours later and you’re no where to be seen” he added. “So you just let me think and deal and I’ll be fine.”
“There is a good explanation” Paige said.
“Fine so lets hear it then” Henry said and looked at her, waiting for her to start.
“Okay” Paige took a deep breath. “I’m a witch.”
Henry started to laugh as he stood up. “You know one thing is sure about you Paige, you never get boring.”
“Okay mister you sit back down” Paige pushed him down onto the bed again. “And you listen to me. I am a witch, just like my sisters, our mother and all the way back to the witch trial days. We have powers, great powers and we are the most powerful witches ever. So you saying I am a joke, well you deserve some serious pain. But I am nice so I won’t even if I do happen to know a very evil demon” she added and stopped as she was out of breath.
“You’re serious?” Henry asked, the smile suddenly far gone from his face.
“Of course I am” Paige said.
“So you’re…”
“A witch, yes” Paige answered.
--
Across town Andy rushed out of his car. The rain was poring down from the sky like never before as he ran. The water entered his shoes, his new very expensive shoes. But all that didn’t care anymore. All that cared was how he could still feel Prue in his arms, how her body shook from crying and how she smelled just like he used to remember. He knew she was not his, but he also knew that when she was sad he was sad. It was as if their hearts and souls were connected in a way for them to live their lives and feelings intertwined.
He pushed the doors to the police house open with such power they slammed shut behind him with a bang. A bang that made the few officers inside turn to look at him but he just walked by them.
He made his way into his boss’s office without as much as a knock. Making the older man turn around in surprise from his paper work.
“Trudeau, what makes you barge in like this?”
“I need for you to help me” Andy said and closed the door behind him before he sat down.
“What with?”
“I need help to get a child out of his foster home” Andy answered.
“And why is that?” he asked and looked at Andy.
“His parents are neglecting him” Andy answered. “They dump him on his nanny all day, its not like its supposed to be” he continued.
“This is not a police case” his boss stated. “So why do you care?”
“Because he is hurting” Andy said but his boss just gave him a look telling him he was not convinced. “And he’s my son” Andy added.
“You’re son?” his boss sounded surprised and shocked. “You and Susan…?”
“Look Mark, we’re friends…we go way back” Andy sighed. “This thing is just complicated.”
“We both do complicated” Mark laughed. “So will you get off your angry steak and tell me what this is all about?”
“Three years ago Prue showed up in Portland. She had a business thing there for the museum she worked for…” Andy started. “When I saw her, it was all just too much. Susan and I had some problems and Prue…Prue was just breath taking. We had one night…”
“But you stayed with Susan” Mark stated.
“She was my wife” Andy sighed. “And I stayed because of that…but Prue, she is the love of my life. I was just scared, I was scared when she said she was pregnant and I freaked.”
“So she gave the baby up?” Mark asked.
“Yeah and now she saw him. She never wanted to give him up but she did because I told her to, and now the boy is in a loveless home…we want him back, I want him back…”
--
“So you’re a witch” Henry stated once more. He just had a bit of a hard time getting it into his head.
“Yes” Paige said tiredly.
“So you save innocents and kill demons, you make the world a better place” Henry continued. “That’s pretty cool.”
“No its not” Paige said quietly.
“Sure it is” Henry said. “You can change the world with that kind of power.”
“No it’s not cool so back off!” Paige snapped. She didn’t need this not from him. She didn’t want to think or even fee that, because she had so many times before.
“What’s wrong?” Henry suddenly turned serious, there was something in her face that made him stop to think.
“What’s wrong? You are” Paige cried. “You and your save the world crap, that’s not what it is all about. You may think that because I have these powers I should change everything, but I can’t…” Suddenly she felt tears poring out and she had no way of stopping it. “…I can’t change the world Henry…I couldn’t even save my friends from burning in…” she added.
“Paige sweetie” Henry hurried to walk up and hold her. She didn’t say anything but slowly she started to break down.
He wasn’t surprised, he had been waiting for this moment ever since that day in the hospital when they found out what happened and she said she was fine. He knew this day would come and he was just happy he could be there for her.
“I should have saved them” Paige whispered into his chest. “I should have saved them, because I could.”
“Paige this is not you fault” Henry said but she didn’t say anything more, she just clung to him as if he was the only thing keeping her alive…and in some ways maybe he was…
--
He knocked on the door hard, his heart beating just a shard in his chest. He didn’t know why he was there…or actually he did. He knew he had to talk to her before it was too late, even if what happened before was just a moment of weakness…he knew she might throw him out again, but he was read for the chance, because this was his chance to make her smile again.
“Andy…hi” Prue said as she opened the door and found him standing outside in the poring rain. “What are you doing here?”
“I talked to my boss today” Andy said. “You think we can talk inside where its warm and not so much raining?”
“Sure” Prue stepped a side and let him inside. “So what were you talking to him about?” she asked.
“About Dylan” Andy said and he saw her tense up.
“What about him?” she asked.
“I talked to my boss about adoption rules” Andy confessed. “And apparently if the parents agree we can have him back.”
“What?” Prue asked confused. “You don’t just take a kid back like that. You just don’t…and they adopted him. Do you even think about him, he is 2 now Andy. He knows his parents, he doesn’t know us. We’re strangers to him.”
“We’re his parents” Andy shot back. “You said you wanted him back.”
“I do, but I don’t” She said.
“So what do you expect me to do?” Andy asked. “You said you wanted him so I raised heaven and earth to try and give you that.”
“I do want him” Prue said. “But…”
“Okay” he nodded. “Then you think this through and call me when you understand what you’re talking about because I sure as hell don’t” he walked out and slammed the front door shut behind him.
“Perfect” Prue muttered as she made her way into the kitchen where Piper was sitting at the table. “I hate men” she said and sat down.
“Join the club” Piper muttered.
“Leo?” Prue asked.
“Apparently he made Lily go away and now he says he misses her” Piper said.
“That sucks” Prue said.
The two women sat there sulking when Henry and Paige walked into the room, hand in hand.
“Do you have a moment?” Paige asked and her sisters turned to her.
“Sure” Piper said. “What’s up?”
“I told you about Europe but I think you need to understand” Paige said slowly and started to take off her top.
She slowly turned around and showed her back and shoulder that was covered in white bandages. Henry carefully moved them and took them off, showing the bright scars to her tow speechless sisters.
“Oh Paige” Prue said.
“It’s okay” Paige said. “I just want you to understand what it’s like, that it’s not just in my head” she said. “And I need to do this to show that its real, so maybe I can start and move on…”

Epilogue - Secret actions
A few weeks later…
She sat down on the small couch made for two in the sun room. Outside the moon shone in through the windows carefully lighting up the small room and in her hand was a cup of fresh hot coffee. She pulled her legs to her chest and wrapped the blanket closer around her fragile frame.
She let out a small sigh as she let the warmth of the coffee warm her body up as she drank it. She couldn’t sleep; she used to blame it on the storm. That the pounding of the rain made her uneasy but in reality it was something very different making her feel that way.
“Phoebe sweetie” she looked up to find Prue standing in the doorway. “What are you doing up?” the older of the sisters asked.
“I couldn’t sleep” Phoebe said. “And I could ask you the same thing” she added and looked up at her sister.
“I haven’t called Andy yet” Prue sighed.
“Then come on over, we can have a pity part” Phoebe raised her blanket and Prue gratefully accepted the free spot on the couch and wrapped the blanket around them both. “So why didn’t you call him?” she asked once her older sister was comfortable.
“I don’t know” Prue said.
“You don’t want Dylan?” Phoebe asked.
“Of course I do” Prue shot back. “He’s not the problem.”
“So you don’t want Andy then” Phoebe stated. “Well the single mum gig doesn’t suck too much” she said.
“So you’re not keeping Keith then?” Prue asked. “I mean I’m sure he’s a great guy and…”
“I hate him” Phoebe stated.
“Oh thank God because so do I” Prue laughed but when she realized her sister didn’t she stopped. “So why do you hate him?”
“It doesn’t matter” Phoebe said. “I just need to get him out of here, away from Daisy.”
“If it matters to you it matters to me” Prue said. “So tell me.”
“It’s a long story” Phoebe said as she tried to dodge the real answer.
“I have time” Prue said. “And whatever it is I can help…you know me, I rock at getting guys to run away” she added and saw a small smile on her little sister’s face. “See…now tell me.”
“He, well he used to…” Phoebe didn’t know how to really put it. “I hit me” she said in a loss for better words.
“He what?” Prue asked shocked.
“Yeah during about five years in New York” Phoebe said, her head slowly sinking to her chest.
“That bastard” Prue cried. “I am gonna smash his head in so bad…”
“Prue please” Phoebe begged.
“You’re not letting him get away with it, are you?” Prue questioned.
“No, I just…” Phoebe sighed. “Daisy loved him.”
“Yeah and he is hurting you…” Prue suddenly froze up. “Did he, was he the one that put you in the hospital?” she asked.
“Yeah” Phoebe nodded slowly.
“That’s it” Prue got up and stormed out of the room.
“Prue please” Phoebe hurried after but she was not nearly as fast as she still got dizzy from standing up.
--
Prue walked down the corridor and banged on her sisters doors as she passed them.
“What is going on?” Piper asked but Prue just showed for her and Paige to follow, which they did.
She continued down to Phoebe’s room where she slammed the door open. She walked inside with her sisters not far behind.
“Get Daisy out” Prue said and Leo who had now joined them quickly grabbed the small girl and took her out of the room.
“What is going on?” Keith looked up from under the covers in the bed.
“You tell me” Prue shot back just as Phoebe appeared in the door and his eyes landed on her.
“You pregnant dog, you told them?” he cried and got out of the bed. He moved towards Phoebe but Prue stepped in between them.
“Don’t you dare get close to her ever again” she threatened.
“You don’t stand a chance” he took her off guard has his fist collided with her cheek and she fell to the floor.
“Hey” Piper cried and threw her hands out freezing him on the spot.
“Thanks” Prue said as she slowly got back on her feet. “I should have seen that coming” she added.
“Well you did kind of piss him off” Paige said. “So what is this all about?”
“He was the one to try and kill Phoebe” Prue breathed heavily as she forced her body to handle the pain and push it away.
“He what?” Piper asked angrily.
“He used to beat me in New York…and when he came here” Phoebe answered quietly.
“Honey, you should have told us” Piper said just as Keith started to unfreeze.
“Talk later” Prue said and placed a very well placed kick in his stomach making him fly into the wall.
“Nice” Piper laughed as he slowly stood up again.
“You do realize you can’t kill him, right” Paige said.
“We’re just giving back a little” Piper said and flicked her wrist making only his body freeze and not his head. “You see Keith we will always win” she said with a smug as he started to freak out.
Prue then joined in and used her powers to slam his body back into the wall again.
“I like this game” Piper said.
“Mind if I join in?” she turned around and saw Phoebe walking up to them.
“Be my guest” Piper said and watched as Phoebe walked over to Keith…
--
“He won’t be bothering you again” officer Morris said as she escorted Keith out of the manor.
“Are you guys okay?” Andy asked and looked from Phoebe to Piper and Paige, his eyes avoiding Prue all together.
“Yeah” Phoebe said and she as well as Piper and Paige left the room.
“How subtle” Prue mumbled as she looked at Andy.
“I should get going” he said and moved towards the front door.
“Andy wait” Prue said, not even sure why she did. She just knew this was not a time she wanted to watch him leave.
“Why?” he asked but he did turn around and look at her.
“Because I want you to stay” she said. “I don’t want you to leave.”
“And why is that?” he asked. “You need someone to yell at?”
“No” Prue shook her head. “I need you period” she said. “I need you to love me and I need you to be a family again…we and our son.”
“Are you sure about that?” Andy asked but when she didn’t answer right away he turned and walked out of the door.
“You’re letting him leave?” she turned around to find her sisters standing there.
“No” she said and hurried out the door. She didn’t care that she was still in her pajama pants and tank top, or that her hair was not perfect. She just ran outside and caught up with him out on the drive way.
She didn’t speak but blocked his way; she wrapped her arms around his neck and leaned up, kissing him. It was everything she remembered but still different, it felt right…she moved back and smiled at his surprised expression. “I’m absolutely sure” she said.
“Good” Andy smiled before her brought her to him and kissed her again…
THE END
